"Got stuck - We had only planned to stay 1 night and then spontaneously stayed there for 3 days. Absolute peace and quiet, sufficiently large pitches with electricity, a small beach, clean sanitary facilities, easy walking distance to the town for shopping etc.. From there you can easily go on day trips by car or on hikes.

"Overnight stay only for Camping Key Card holders - After a long drive, we arrived at the campsite in the late afternoon. We were instructed to choose a pitch and then check in at reception. After we had made ourselves at home, I wanted to check in. I was then told that only Camping Key card holders could stay overnight on the site. The fee for the card would have made the overnight stay too expensive for us, so we packed up again and drove to the campsite in Dorotea, where we were given a friendly welcome despite the late hour. The campsite in Vilhelmina was almost empty! What I didn't know at the time (we had come from Norway) was that many campsites in Sweden have a similar policy. Very disappointing for us, and that in Sweden of all places, where hospitality is actually held in high esteem.

"The most rustic sauna on our trip - The welcome at reception was very pleasant and friendly. The hut was cozy with a front terrace. The wood-fired sauna right by the lake was just great. There was no shower in the sauna, but there was a footbridge into the lake... but we had a separate relaxation room with a panoramic view of the lake. Here you could relax with a nice beer after a long motorcycle stage.

"Place by the water and with good infrastructure - The site is located directly on the lake with a beautiful bathing beach and playground. Large parceled-out pitches on the meadow, new paved pitches are being built directly on the shore. Reception with kiosk and souvenirs. New sanit. Building, nicely furnished and clean. Spacious kitchen/dishwashing area with lounge, all in wood, also clean. To the center Vilhelmina approx. 1 KM, there good shopping possibilities. To visit especially the old church settlement. Ideal location for excursions in the region, e.g. rapids on road 46 to Dikanas. Site operator and staff very friendly. We visited the campsite again at the end of June 2016. Different staff at the reception, the lady rather unfriendly, tedious check-in. W-Lan free for some guests, for others only for a fee... Since our last visit, the pitches by the water have been completed and are available for long-term campers, and a few more hytter have been added. The site itself incl. sanit. Building and kitchen still in perfect condition and clean, the meadow also well maintained and mowed.

"great place - We were passing through here. Quick access to Inlandsvägen45. Beautiful Sami cabins for rent with their own fireplace and free firewood. Very new and very clean kitchen and sanitary facilities. TV in the "dining room". So we could watch the World Cup ;-) Any time again

Profil

Saiva Camping is beautifully situated by the lake Baksjön at the edge of Vilhelmina, about 1 kilometre from the centre of town. Facilities include a reception building, service building, 22 cabins and 50 RV sites, 40 of which have electricity …hookups. The reception building has a snack bar and a large sitting room where you can enjoy a snack or watch TV. The service building has a shower, toilet and a kitchen as well as a laundry room and dump station for holding tanks. We have cabins that range in price from SEK 290 to 690/per night.
