- Klaus R.June 2019PozitivnoSilence, silence, silence!NegativnoNone found.Quiet placeWe stayed at the campsite for a few days in June. We received a very friendly welcome and were given lots of information about the region. The pitches are large enough, without a water connection. Although the sanitary facilities are getting on in years, they were always clean and well maintained. Shopping facilities a little further away. Bread rolls to order. Campers' restaurant available.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Andreas H.June 20194 stars too manyWe (2 adults and daughter 16) stayed there for 3 days. The site is quite remote. The ground is grass. Was mowed shortly before we were there. Since it was raining and the mowed grass remained lying, it stuck to the shoes. So all the grass was in the caravan. The sanitary facilities were okay. Unfortunately,... you could only wash up outside. Not an advantage on cool days. There was also a bread roll service. The site operators make an effort. But that is missing something. In the morning still in pajamas. Therefore I can only give 3 starsSamodejno prevedeno.
- Cornelia G.October 2017PozitivnoRestPure tranquillityThe campsite is beautifully situated on the edge of the forest and is absolutely peaceful. You can go for wonderful walks and hikes from the campsite. The tourist information office in the village (approx. 1km, within easy walking distance) provides good advice on activities in the area. A trip to Luxembourg... and the Saarschleife near Mettlach is definitely worthwhile. We definitely spent a very active, but also quiet and relaxing vacation there. The young tenant family is very nice and helpful. They could perhaps make a little more of the camping tavern, but we enjoyed our evening drinks there several times ;-) All in all, a lovely vacation on a beautiful campsite in the countryside!Samodejno prevedeno.
- Steffen N.November 2016NegativnoCleanliness in the sanitary area, no washing-up facilities in winter, accessibility of the reception, common rooms lockedStill has a lot of potentialbeautifully situated, but lack of cleanliness in the sanitary area ruins everythingSamodejno prevedeno.
- Helga N.June 2016Always beautiful and quietWe already spent our vacation at the Schwarzwälder Hochwald campsite in 2011, 2012 and 2013. The campsite has been under new management since January this year. We stayed there again for 7 days and were given a very friendly and courteous welcome. We always enjoy going back to Weiskirchen as it is a... quiet and clean campsite. We also ate 3 times in the Camping-Klause. We made use of the offer to order in advance, as we always have our lunch in the evening. We were served in a friendly, courteous and quick manner. We really like the fact that there is a weekly menu for regular meals, so you can decide which days you want to eat there. The campsite is an ideal starting point for excursions (Saarschleife, Völklinger Hütte etc.) and hikes (beautiful low mountain range landscape and plenty of forest), as well as excursions to the surrounding countries: France and Luxembourg. We will go there again and look forward to the daily concert of the birds in spring, which you can enjoy without disturbing background noise.Samodejno prevedeno.
- sascha s.May 2016PozitivnoFriendliness...cleanliness ...restaurantGreat vacationWe were at this great campsite in May 2016...this wonderful peace and quiet and this friendliness of the staff is really great....the cleanliness in the toilets and the entire facility is great...in the adjoining restaurant you can eat very well and always fresh ...so our conclusion is that we will definitely go there againSamodejno prevedeno.
- michaela m.May 2016PozitivnoFriendliness, location and restaurantSuper vacationWe were at this great campsite in May and will always like to go there again ....this quiet, this location and the very friendly staff ....the cleanliness in the toilets ...and the restaurant attached to this campsite is also very great so you can highly recommend it ...the food tastes great there and everything is very fresh ....always worth a visitSamodejno prevedeno.
- Karlheinz M.May 2016PozitivnoQuiet location, large pitches, great view.NegativnoRestaurantQuiet placeQuiet place, about 1km outside of Weiskirchen. An ideal starting point for hikes along the Saar Hunsrück-Steig and the Traumschleifen trails. If you are looking for total peace and quiet, this is the place for you. Large pitches and friendly staff. However, self-catering is highly recommended, as there... are no shopping facilities on site. We found the restaurant on site to be a complete disaster. The large menu at the entrance tells you what is on offer. You cannot find out in advance what is really available. On the day of arrival there was freshly grilled food, but only grilled food. When we arrived for dinner at 6:30pm, the steaks were all gone, there were only a few sausages left. On Saturday evening we asked how long the food would be available until 8pm. We went back at 6:30pm, unfortunately too late, there was only "one" schnitzel with chips and a few wieners with chips. If there's nothing left to eat on Saturday evening, what will there be on Sunday? So we should come back to the square, the restaurant won't see us for a while. There is also a bread roll service, but on Sundays there were only bread rolls from 10am. So nothing for early risers who want to hike.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Dirk T.July 2015Pozitivnovery quiet large parking spacesvery quiet campsiteThe campsite is a good starting point for excursions to the Saar from Saarburg to Völklingen and also for all destinations in the Hochwald. Despite the main holiday season, we were almost alone.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Willi H.May 2015PozitivnoVery quietNegativnoEateryWhitsun 2015We stayed at the Camingplatz this year 2015. Hospitality and cleanliness were very good. Unfortunately there were major shortcomings in the restaurant. Food order Schnitzel with fries waiting time 1 hour. In the salad was a pastikteil sharp-edgedSamodejno prevedeno.
- Dirk S.June 2014PozitivnoVery quiet, spacious parking spacesNegativnoVery remote from the villageQuiet and beautifulThe campsite is very remote from the town, but very central for day trips by car in the Saarland. The site is very quiet, with almost only DC guests at Whitsun. The pitch area was very spacious. Natural outdoor pool nearbySamodejno prevedeno.
- Thomas L.October 2013The campsite is located about 1 kilometer outside of Weiskirchen in idyllic surroundings, it is absolutely quiet at night and during the day. The site is very well maintained, the sanitary facilities are modern and absolutely clean. Inhabited almost exclusively by permanent campers. We were the only... tourists there during our 3-day stay, which is hard to understand given the location of the site and the surrounding area. The price/performance ratio is fine. However, the tourist tax of €2.50 per person per night is annoying (for which the campsite is of course not responsible). As a camper you don't get anything in return, even for a simple map of Weiskirchen you have to pay €2 at the tourist information office. That's why we probably won't be back.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Dieter R.June 2013Fantastic landscape. Well located for excursions in the Saarland, Saarschleife and more. Sufficiently large pitches. I have rarely seen such a well-kept site. Friendly staff. Garbage and other no problem even outside the specified times. Restaurant not special. But it's ok for a schnitzel with chips. Shopping facilities in the village 3 km away. Cheap for DCC members.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Pascal B.April 2013Actually, dago-2 has already described everything we noticed. We were here over Easter 2013 and unfortunately the weather was quite cold. Of course, the operator can't help that. However, in this case there is only one way to wash your dishes. In plain language, this means that there are outdoor sinks... for washing dishes in summer. On cold days or in winter, there is only one sink with a 5-liter boiler (which takes 20 minutes to heat up the water) for the dishes. This can be a bit tight with 3-4 tourist campers. We can't say much about the restaurant. We ate once and unfortunately we didn't really like it. We cannot make a recommendation. To level the caravan, be sure to take additional shims with you. Depending on the space, it can be quite tight for the crank supports. The access road to the actual CP is a concrete dirt road. There are only 2 passing places and in traffic with caravans it can get quite narrow, or the better driver gives way ;-). Otherwise you can say that the sanitary facilities are all clean and well maintained, the operator takes care of everything you need in a friendly manner. Waste disposal can also be arranged with the operator or the staff there outside of normal hours without any problems. We felt quite comfortable on the pitch. However, it remains to be seen whether 4 stars are justified. Sanitary yes, rest....Samodejno prevedeno.
- DAGO W.April 2012The site is beautifully situated and quiet. (As long as the chainsaws are not rumbling outside the site). However, it is 1 km as the crow flies to the town center (Haus des Gastes) and 2 km by road. However, you can contribute financially to the structure with tourist tax. The staff are friendly. In... the attached restaurant "Camper Klause" there are inexpensive simple dishes in generous portions. The sanitary facilities are good. The rooms are always cleaned. However, the temperature of the hot water could be increased slightly. Different pitches are offered. The ones offered to us were partly freshly prepared, or all had longitudinal and transverse slopes, so that the normal length of the caravan support was not sufficient. This means that the caravan must be set up with at least one wheel carpet pad and corresponding underlays for the supports. However, the price structure of this DCC club site is somewhat strange. In addition to the pitch fee, there are also charges for the caravan and for the car. The electricity costs per kWh are over 10 cents higher for tourists than for permanent campers. The tourist tax is charged at 1.40 euros per person per day. However, a permanent camper only pays 20 euros for the whole year! A garbage fee of 1 euro per day is charged, although garbage collection is "super cheap" from 3.00 pm to 3.30 pm. This is when the tourists are usually out and about, and the permanent campers can take advantage of this offer. (Although I can't find any separate waste disposal fees for long-term campers in the price list. These are probably included in the annual rent). All these factors and the desire to register there before arrival could give the impression that tourists are financing the permanent campers' stay there and are not very welcome. Even a voucher issued at the time of payment, which can be used for a future stay, does nothing to change this impression. Conclusion: Although we felt comfortable there, ate well in the Camperklause and spent our time there relatively cheaply thanks to the DCC top offer, the 4 stars for this site are slightly exaggerated. I would now like to expand this description with some information for DCC members who would like to visit this campsite at some point and take advantage of the DCC top offer. The DCC describes these top offers on the website as follows: "Here you can spend your vacation with the whole family at an all-inclusive price (€ 11,- NS / € 12,50 HS)" This also applies to all the places I have visited so far, plus of course additional costs such as electricity, garbage, local tax, environmental tax, water fee, etc.. Unfortunately, however, not at the Schwarzwälder Hochwald campsite. Because the people in charge there have come up with something special: If you arrive on foot with a tent, everything is OK, then you pay the TOP price. If you come with a motorcycle, you pay an additional 1 euro per day. If you come with a car, you pay an additional 1 euro per day. If you come with a caravan, you pay an additional 1 euro per day for both the car and the caravan. If you come with a camper van, you may pay an additional 3 euros per day. - plus ancillary costs in each case. All in all, these are only small amounts per day, but it does add up quite a bit for a three-week stay, for example. It's a shame if the efforts of the DCC and the many campsite operators for the TOP offers are undermined in this way.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Ralf K.April 2012Very nice CP. Somewhat difficult access, as very hidden, but absolutely quiet. Unfortunately, no shopping facilities on site, but you can pre-order bread rolls from the groundsman. very tasty restaurant. operators very nice and helpful!Samodejno prevedeno.
- Alexander L.January 2012Nice quiet location. Pitches consist of grass and/or small gravel stones. The external impression of the sanitary building is deceptive. Very well maintained inside, modern standard and very clean. Only the water should be hotter. Staff very friendly. Price-performance ratio completely in order. Conclusion: gladly again at any timeSamodejno prevedeno.
- Iris V.October 2010Beautifully situated campsite with great views. Many hiking trails directly from the site. The site offers many activities, e.g. mushroom excursions in the fall. Clean sanitary facilities, spacious pitches, partly gravel/grass or just grass. In the low season, the camping hut is naturally not so busy,... which is why it is closed in the evenings. Wide barrier opening times, very friendly operator. Due to its proximity to the spa town, the campsite also charges a visitor's tax, but the proximity to the spa town also offers great wellness facilities (Parkhotel Weiskirchen and the Vitalisbad belonging to it). We certainly weren't there for the last time.Samodejno prevedeno.
