- Gitta P.September 2019PozitivnoQuiet, clean and well-kept facilityNegativnoCramped sanitary facilities. First the toilets :-( and then the showers. You're always walking through smells and noises...Get to know Stirling and the surrounding areaBeautiful campsite with paved standing areas. Paved with stones that are ideal for walking on and cannot get stuck in shoe treads. The sanitary facilities are not huge or very modern in terms of equipment and space, but they were clean and adequate in the low season. With a view of the mountains and the Wallace Monument, the location is definitely very beautiful and quiet.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Susann S.September 2017PozitivnoCleanliness, large pitchesNegativnonoisy streetCampsite between sheep and highland cattleThe campsite is nicely laid out, the sanitary facilities clean, heated and with (good) music. 4 showers are probably not enough when fully occupied. Very nice, our 4-legged neighbors, who greeted us with mowing and mooing. Very noisy, the main road, which is also very busy at night. We explored Stirling... by bike, but there are only a few cycle paths, some of which are hidden, so be sure to ask at reception for the (supposedly only) cycle map, which we dutifully returned. In the next hamlet out of town (within walking distance) there is a large farm store where you can also eat or drink coffee during the day. They also had bread, delicious cheese, fruit, vegetables and meat - great! The mountain slopes behind the campsite are perfect for hiking.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Hans-JOachim B.July 2017PozitivnoClean sanitary facilities, beautifully situated.Negativnono significantBeautiful CPThe campsite is rather small. All pitches are with gravel, tent pitches are meadow. The campsite is beautifully situated on the outskirts of Stirling. We always went to the town by car. There isn't really a supermarket. The owner has a few things in reception but not really anything. So you have to shop... outside. Scottish bread rolls (rather soft) are available to order in advance. The sanitary facilities are clean and well maintained. The shower heads are too low, at least for people over 1.70m. All in all, a very nice campsite that I can recommend without reservation!Samodejno prevedeno.
- Rena R.September 2015Very nice place, absolutely recommendableThe CP is easily accessible, good signposting of the route. Very friendly welcome, bread roll service...large pitches, slightly further walk to the sanitary building, very good bus connectionsSamodejno prevedeno.
- Monika T.July 2014Nice campsiteClose to town, great for going out, we were satisfied. Clean kids loved it. More secluded location. There's a hill above the campground that you can still look at, and it's cool to climb.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Armin Q.June 2012very nice cp the people are very eager and do a lot for their campers. you can also have bread rolls etc. brought every morning. our impression very good there is also a lot to look at.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Zelter X.July 2011We expected a lot from Witches Craig based on many positive comments. It really is a very well-kept, fine little place, ideal for exploring the pretty city of Stirling and its surroundings. The staff are extremely accommodating and friendly. We were warned about rain and told to camp on higher ground,... which was important for this site! Small log cabins allow every camper with the smallest tent to eat under one roof. What really bothered us, however, was the situation in the sanitary facilities. They are lovingly furnished, heated and clean, but by no means adequate. With four showers, there was a queue every morning, and it's too much of a waste of time for me to queue on vacation.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Jürg B.June 2011Beautifully landscaped site with flowers, friendly owners. Pitches partly graveled, large plots. Clean sanit. Facilities heated. Washing machine and dryer available. Ideal for visiting the castle and Wallace monument. Somewhat disturbing at night > main road running past the site.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Scottie B.June 2011The Witches Craig campsite is well signposted just outside Stirling, within easy reach of a bus stop, within sight of the Wallace Monument and with a magnificent mountain backdrop. It is located on a busy road, which results in a not inconsiderable amount of background noise. Visually, it is very lovingly... designed (flowerbeds and flower boxes) and the operators (second generation) are also very friendly and courteous. Spacious grass or gravel pitches are available. However, there is only one small house with sanitary facilities for the whole site, which means that visitors have to decide whether they want peace and quiet (and therefore more distance to the toilets) or exercise (but a quieter location). There are enough toilets and showers available, which, although old, are very (VERY) clean. The showers themselves are cramped but well thought out and adequately equipped with shelves, hooks, etc. The rooms are heated, which is not insignificant in the Scottish summer. We always enjoy coming back and this was our 16th time there.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Michael S.April 2011This was the third stop on our trip before we headed back home. Stirling is the ideal campsite for driving to the Highlands as well as to Edinburgh or Glasgow. The site is quite manageable, very well maintained and picturesquely situated on a mountain. The site was full on Easter Sunday, but still very... quiet. We were the only "non-English" people, which was good for the children's language exercises :-) From Monday evening onwards, the site was only 20% full, so we were able to really enjoy the last few days of our vacation. The sanitary facilities can only be accessed with a separate key and unfortunately the campsite lacks a small store. However, there is a Morrisons nearby which was open until the evening even at Easter. On arrival we received a small brochure with tips for excursions in the area, which we used extensively. All in all a really great place!Samodejno prevedeno.
