- Martina C.September 2024PozitivnoLots of freedom, very child-friendly, good atmosphere, nice peopleNegativnoOnly a small selection of foodGreat campsiteI spent a long weekend with my grandson at the Schnitzmühle campsite. The atmosphere was very good and children could move around freely, swim in the river, make fires....The wash house was mostly clean and showers didn't cost extra. There was a lot of partying at night, but it was limited and we were... able to sleep well. If you are looking for absolute peace and quiet, you have to go somewhere else. This is not a retiree campsite. If you like good-mood camping and can leave 5 straight, this is the place for you. I found the location and the nature paradisiacal. Perhaps there could be a nice playground for children.
We'll be back again very often!Аутоматски преведено. - Vero N.August 2021PozitivnoNice pitch on the river, rent a fire bowl and buy wood, nice and relaxed crowd, WLAN was sufficient to work on the site, canoeing and pony rides, card payment possible in the storeNegativnoThe restaurant is supposed to be good, which unfortunately we couldn't test as the restaurant was fully booked all week or would only have had a seat inside "from 5-7pm". The fact that the advertised take-away food is only available until 5pm is also really annoying. Apart from a bit of grilled meat and bread rolls, you can't buy any food on the site to eat yourself, so you have to make sure you buy all the food you need for your stay in advance if you're there without a car. You can take the Waldbahn to Viechtach, but this is quite inconvenient if you want to buy groceries. A small all-day takeaway menu would definitely be useful. The wash house was okay, nicely designed, but not always clean and toilet paper was often missing. The water pressure in the showers was sometimes low, but bearable. If you're unlucky, you'll have to wait half an hour in the morning to get your bread rolls, because unfortunately they're served at a snail's pace and there's only one employee in the store who has to take care of everything.Nice place with a few shortcomingsThe image conveyed by the website doesn't quite correspond to reality - it's actually a normal campsite with the usual strengths and weaknesses. The crowd (in August) seemed younger than on other campsites, which is of course great for families.Аутоматски преведено.
- Michael S.September 2020PozitivnoTop location on the Black RainNegativnosomewhat run-down facility. Everywhere needs to be tidied up and various things brought up to scratch. The sanitary building is in a shambles... Somehow always dirty. Cleaning is only superficial. The operators earn a fortune with the hotel and the fancy new Tiny Houses, but there is probably no money left for the campsite. A real shameOnly the location Top...See disadvantages.
Great location. Sanitary and infrastructure grade six.
Quite quiet at the end of SeptemberАутоматски преведено. - Tante F.August 2020PozitivnoThe site is beautifully situated directly on the Black Rain, the pitches are not parceled out. The site and the guests are super relaxed, with a colorful mix of campers with tents, camper vans, roof tents, caravans, vans and motorhomes.NegativnoIn some places, the organization seems a little "too relaxed", after a heavy downpour many places are under water and the roads/walkways are a single mud puddle due to many potholes. A truck with gravel would avoid a lot of dirt (and trouble) in the campers and also in the sanitary facilities. A small drawback is the power supply, there are only a few pillars, which are only on one side of the road and so a long line has to be laid across the muddy road.Nice and relaxed place - maybe a little too relaxed? The site is beautifully situated on the Black Rain in the middle of the Bavarian Forest. Campers of all ages feel at home here in a wide variety of camping accommodation and enjoy nature and relaxation.
However, those who value landscaped pitches and meticulously maintained outdoor facilities will not... feel at home here, as the campsite concept is more alternative - with a focus on nature and adventure.
The restaurant has a large menu, the dishes are very tasty and the portions are really large, and it is also possible to order and collect.Аутоматски преведено. - Bernd E.August 2019PozitivnononeNegativnoSee ratingAdvertising and reality are miles apartFirst of all, my greatest respect to the marketing department of "Adventure Camp Schnitzmühle". You know your job. Unfortunately, what is advertised in the glossy brochure has absolutely nothing to do with what the reality on site offers. But let's start from the beginning: As a wedding present, we received... a voucher from the Schnitzmühle from friends. It came with lots of information booklets and documents about the facility. We were delighted and immediately reserved two adjacent pitches for August (for us and the friends who gave us the voucher). As we travel a lot with our camper on campsites, we were expecting an unforgettable stay. And it really was unforgettable... Adventure Camp: Yes, the drive to our rather large reserved pitch was an adventure in itself. The ground was completely soggy, and with a lot of imagination you could guess that it had once been grassland. We really struggled to park our van on pitch no. 70 without getting stuck. Anyone can imagine how we camped for the 5 days when the pitch hadn't dried out a bit. The power connections, which were plentiful, are of a technical standard that would give any TÜV inspector the shivers. But at least they worked. For the more than 80 pitches (according to the site plan) and the entire tent meadow, there is, believe it or not, an entire wash house. And the so-called "physical culture house" is simply a disaster. With a ridiculous number of showers that were so filthy and dirty, an entire campsite is supposed to be able to cope here. No hot water or toilet paper in the morning at rush hour. That's really not possible. The supply and disposal facilities for motorhomes are very limited. There is a chemical toilet sink in the wash house. Water supply is only possible with a jug and unfortunately there is no water disposal for service water. (Well, I didn't find any) The available WLAN is not really worth mentioning for a campsite of this size. In an "adventure camp", which according to the description is supposed to be a paradise for hipsters and cool people, I would have imagined something better in the age of smartphones and notebooks. Dog owners should be prepared to take their collected dog poo home with them in their own bag. Because despite being "dog-friendly", there are neither stands with bags nor a disposal option. Ok, many "careless" dog owners let their four-legged friends litter on a parking space. And if something like this happens, you just find it in the tread of your hiking boots. The advertised "Emoji Sphere Spa" is really well designed and beautifully laid out. But unfortunately, the slogan (quote from the website:) "Ideal for you if you want to chill out and hang out" did absolutely nothing for me. When I imagine a spa area, it should be an oasis of calm. Instead, there were screaming children running around in the relaxation room and whirlpool. There are no rules and the little ones can do whatever they want. I am certainly not a "child hater", but this has absolutely nothing to do with wellness and spa. The only positive thing I can say about the "Adventure Camp Schnitzmühle" is the food in the restaurant. We went there three times for dinner and tried different dishes. They were all really good. And at a reasonable price. Unfortunately, due to the way we experienced this campsite, which is highly hyped by the operator, we couldn't write many good things. We are really not spoiled, but in our eyes this campsite does not deserve a recommendation.Аутоматски преведено.
- Barbara S.August 2019PozitivnoReally great restaurant with reasonable prices, friendly staff, free ticket for the forest trainNegativnounkempt pitches, dirty and much too small sanitary facilities at a fully booked campsite, very loud = no relaxationMore appearance than realityHats off to the Schnitzmühle marketing department! Based on the great brochures and the lovely homepage, we were looking forward to a chilled camp with cool people. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The location on the river is very nice, but the pitches are poorly maintained. Our two pitches... (and not only those, but also other pitches and paths) were totally muddy. It's a mystery to me why you can't just dump some gravel on them. A very big minus point also for the sanitary facilities. Far too small for the many guests (the site was fully booked) and hopelessly dirty (partly due to the aforementioned mud that everyone dragged in on their shoes). Showers partly blocked and water partly only dripping cold. We were also very disturbed by the lack of calm and inconsiderateness of many guests. There seem to be no rules on the whole site. We were so smoked in by our neighbors with campfires that we had to flee into the camper. Noise and children screaming late into the night. We couldn't use the wellness oasis advertised in the glossy brochure because large groups of children were romping around in front of the open door to the relaxation room. The day ticket for EUR 8.50 would have been a waste of money. In short, the marketing raises expectations that are absolutely not fulfilled. The only thing I can really rate as very positive is the great restaurant with delicious food at good prices, the friendliness of the staff and the practical free Waldbahn ticket. We definitely won't be coming back and won't be able to recommend the place. What a pity.Аутоматски преведено.
- Gunnar G.July 2019PozitivnoGreat location for many activities.Great campsite !We stayed at the campsite for a few nights and felt very comfortable. From mountain biking to canoeing, this is a good starting point for many activities. The sanitary facilities are not new, but were always clean during our stay. We will be back again!Аутоматски преведено.
- Mi J.June 2019PozitivnoOnly the locationNegativnoSanitary old and dirty, no disposal for the dog toiletIf you don't expect much, you've come to the right placeWe stayed at Schnitzmühle for three days with our dog and our caravan in June 2019. The campsite is advertised as "hip" on the internet. Unfortunately, the reality is very different! Completely outdated connections, the sanitary facilities are old and dirty (everyone carries the dirt through the bathing... sandals into the sanitary facilities, so the floor resembles a mud track), there are only 6 shower facilities for everyone (3 ladies + 3 men). This is far too few for the number of visitors! In short, the sanitary facilities are old and disgusting. There is a hefty daily charge for dogs, but you won't find a dog toilet anywhere on the site. Dear operator: Offering a dog toilet with bags and simultaneous disposal option really doesn't cost the earth and would at least justify the price per dog and day! When we arrived, our allocated pitch was full of excrement, but there was no garbage can for miles around! That's exactly the result!Аутоматски преведено.
- M. K.November 2018NegativnoThe motorhome must be 3.20 m high, otherwise you can't get in...Height restriction 3.20 m at the only entrance!Unfortunately, nowhere, neither on the Schnitzmühle website nor anywhere else, is it pointed out that you MUST drive under a railroad bridge to get to the campsite. The maximum vehicle height is 3.20 meters!Аутоматски преведено.
- Lena P.August 2018PozitivnoLocation, connection to canoe tour organizers, swimming pond. Nice details like bar, hip details like home-brewed lemonade etc.NegativnoSanitary facilities full and dirty. Long distances to garbage containers (not even at the dishwashing area garbage can), not comprehensible. Waste separation.Beautifully located and hip but...We had been planning to visit the Schnitzmühle for a long time, cool camping and all. So we went in August, which may have been a mistake. The site is in a wonderful location, between the stream and the Black Rain. The pitches are beautiful, not heavily parceled out. Unfortunately there is only one wash... house for the whole site. Some of the toilets were a disaster, as were the washbasins. A ray of hope were the five individual bathrooms with integrated toilets, washbasins and showers, which made daily hygiene bearable. There were many parents camping with small children who cried or screamed loudly in the tent when they fell asleep or played loudly until almost 10 pm. We are used to this ourselves, but senior citizens and couples should consider this in high season, as no peace and quiet can be expected. The swimming pond was nice, full during the day but great for cooling off and relaxing at dinner time.Аутоматски преведено.
- Markus R.August 2018PozitivnoBeautifully situated, large pitches, pitches by the water.NegativnoSanitary facilities far too few and not clean. Renovation required, preferably a new building! Old electricity and water connections.Well...Beautifully situated site by the rain. Have been here for years, but nothing has improved since then because of the sanitary facilities. They get more worn out every year and are no longer nice... Resstaurant is actually good but if you are not served at 2 pm for a drink and an ice cream and are told:... "We have a lot to do and don't have time!" That's really sad... Especially as the camping store closes at 12 noon several days in the high season. So I'd rather go somewhere else with my family. Too badАутоматски преведено.
- Gerhard L.July 2018PozitivnoGreat location, were here on a Wednesday to Thursday, intended to stay 3 days but after inspecting the sanitary facilities this came upNegativnoPower connections, laying for our Womo across the road, Wash house - no go, dirty, filthy, the operator himself would be on the toil here.great camps - super cuisine (Thai) but but !!!Were in the restaurant at dinner, appetizer shrimp soup Thai - really great, then rump steak with vegetables - great, service + price-performance there is nothing to complain aboutАутоматски преведено.
- Roland S.June 2018PozitivnoGreat pitches and a pleasant mixed crowdNegativnoToilets and showers, very dirty, unkempt and far too few.Very original and beautifulThe pitches are just as you would wish, loosely spaced and large enough. The crowd is a pleasant mix of families, older people and youngsters. The dogs shake paws. The food in the restaurant can only be recommended. The sanitary facilities are a disaster, far too few and really disgustingly dirty. In... the four days I saw someone wipe once and that was with a bucket of water for the toilets and showers! We therefore went to the toilet in the adjoining hotel and washed with washcloths in our caravan.Аутоматски преведено.
- Andrea G.May 2018PozitivnoClose to nature, idyllic, unconventional, forest train stopNegativnoHaus für Körperkultur is simply a wash house that needs a lot more cleaning.Big words, target group not necessarily the campersSpace is wonderful, camping store has almost no food, little of what a camper really needs. Don't take the big words in the advertising literally. No gray water disposal, fresh water for the Womo only by canister. No dog waste bags and no garbage cans for them. Watch out for dog poo on some pitches. (we had 3)Аутоматски преведено.

- Thomas W.May 2018Pozitivno-positive "not typically German" place, something for individualistsRelaxed weekend 2018 just as beautiful as 2017 and 2016After our positive experiences in 2016 and 2017, these were confirmed again in 2018: The site is really something for nature-loving campers who are looking for "something special"... We had a relaxed weekend with a lot of "fun factor"...Аутоматски преведено.
- Rainer J.August 2017PozitivnoLocation; close to nature; great restaurantGreat, natural campsite on the Black RainNatural campsite at the confluence of the Schwarzer Regen and Aitnach rivers - ideal for canoeists. Level, parceled-out pitches on gravel meadow; also non-parceled-out tent area, separate tent area for groups. The "Körper-Kultur-Haus" sanitary building is tidy and functional, but always clean. Fire bowls... and firewood can be hired/purchased to create a romantic campfire atmosphere. Large adjacent swimming pond. Great restaurant with Thai and Bavarian cuisine. The Regentalbahn train stops right by the campsite for excursions.Аутоматски преведено.
- Roland N.June 2017PozitivnoGreat location very friendly staff nice little store with the most necessary things Swimming possibility also for small childrenNegativnoSanitary facilities Possible noise nuisance from youth groups PriceCool campsite with a wide audienceWe were only passing through for one night. There was a music event that evening, which the friendly lady at reception pointed out to us before we checked in. The audience is very mixed, which is why even without a music event the odd drinking binge can certainly disturb the night's rest. On the other... hand, you can hardly hear the nearby train. The great thing about the site is its location directly on the Black Rain. There is also a small quarry pond next to it. All in all, a really great location. The sanitary facilities are OK, but are getting on in years and more could be done to prevent mold from forming in the silicone (it's safe as long as you don't eat the silicone). What tarnishes the picture somewhat is the price. For 2 adults and 3 children just under 50 euros/night is not a special offer. So next time book with ACSI!Аутоматски преведено.
- Stefan D.May 2017Pozitivnolocation Idyll (campfire, location...)Negativnono WLAN (bothered my son more than me :-)) Mobile network can be weak (but that supports the feeling of being away from home :-)A different kind of friendly campsiteWe have just returned from a long weekend at the Schnitzmühle campsite and it was a really eventful 4 days. This site has a really unique character. No boring static pitch structures, instead a wild, unstructured parking area. Children are allowed to run across other people's pitches, followed by their... parents, without immediately attracting the grumbling of the guests. No allotment gardeners, but a mixture of parents with children, youth groups, football clubs, motorcycle groups, canoeists, drop-outs (for a while :-)).... with a lot of tolerance among each other. The location on the small island is really idyllic, as is the atmosphere and the offer to make campfires on the pitches. Truly unique. We will definitely be back. The black rain also has little current at this point, so you can also let children into the water at the boat landing stage without any worries. For boaters, I would like to answer a question that I asked myself and answered with a test trip: you can go down the Regen as far as Viechtach and get back again without too much trouble. On this stretch, the river mostly resembles a lake rather than a river. So we will definitely be back.Аутоматски преведено.
- katja w.September 2016PozitivnoThe great location, river for kayaking available, uncomplicated and close to natureNegativnoPlayground a bit outdated, advertising for horseback riding but contact to the riding stable does not seem to be the best.uncomplicated and everything you need is there and fortunately no moreWe spent a really great weekend there. We loved being able to make a fire in front of the caravan. "Stove" and wood are available for a fee. A real highlight for children and adults. Fortunately, the site is not one of the glamping sites. Only what is necessary and nothing more. Only the playground could be treated with a little more love.Аутоматски преведено.
