"Campsite with potential - We stayed at the campsite for a week in April. The welcome was friendly. We were accompanied by the groundsman onto the pitch, which looked more like a field after all the rain. At first I thought to myself, that's just the way it is, it's rained a lot. But later I saw that there were also dry pitches with intact grass. From then on, my mood sank. Obviously they don't attach any importance to giving new guests a nice pitch. We were standing by the lake, but that was it. After I had booked and paid for the pitch, I received a new invoice some time later with a higher rental price. I found this a little strange, as I had accepted the offer at the old prices. Presumably they wanted to skim off the cream after the other campsite in Krautsand was to be sold and was therefore closed. The sanitary blocks are a bit outdated, but were always clean. The walls were newly tiled. In the showers there is no place to put the soap. The water at the washbasins and also at the sink is only lukewarm even after a long time. In the toilets, parts of the lock on the cubicle doors are broken off. We will not be staying here again.

"Nice place in a good location - After previous rainfall, the pitch was a little boggy in places. However, the individual briefing quickly had a sufficiently dry pitch ready, which subsequently turned out to be spacious and very well located. The check-in organization could certainly be improved in view of the long queue after the lunch break. The sanitary facilities are clearly getting on in years, but were always clean and well maintained as far as the structural conditions allowed. If you are looking for luxury camping, this is not the place for you, but for those with many years of camping experience it is a nice place with a large bathing lake in the middle and a short walk to the Elbe dyke and Krautsand. All in all, we felt very comfortable on the site.

"Brightly enthusiastic - In 2020, we used the site for one overnight stay and were already very satisfied back then. This year we spent 2 weeks at the CP am Leuchtturm and were in no way disappointed. Starting with the check-in, the allocation of our pitches, as well as the daily interaction, the staff was always available and approachable. Our pitches (we were on site with 5 camper vans) had a sufficient size, the electricity connection was close by, only the water had to be fetched with canisters. But that didn't detract from the experience. The close proximity to the Elbe is ideal for long walks with or without your dog, and the dog beach is directly accessible via the dyke. Cycling tours on great cycle paths are also possible. There is a small store on the campsite where you can order bread rolls and buy everyday necessities, and there is also a restaurant, so there was nothing to complain about here either. We will gladly come back to the CP at the lighthouse.

"Everything we need - Super friendly and familiar atmosphere! We feel very comfortable and enjoy a very cozy, quiet place - without the "sardine can" feeling! Everything is very relaxed! The restaurant was great! Despite mega stress (who doesn't know the lack of staff?) we were served very, very friendly! Everything was great - even without a first class wash house!

Profil

The campsite "Camping Am Leuchtturm" located directly on the dike. From here you can easily watch the vessel traffic on the Elbe from the north sea to Hamburg. Approximately 80,000 ships pass through on their way to Hamburg, the island …annually. At the same time borders the place of the largest bird sanctuaries in Europe. The 5 km long sandy beach is just 200 meters from the square and loads you to swim in the Elbe. The site has 120 permanent and 150 tourist places. We offer optimum facilities for larger groups and clubs. Our kiosk offers you every morning fresh bread and newspapers. You find although a product range of drinks and food, and the little things you have left at home. Of course, we also keep Walking Maps around ready for you. On sunny days, we will set up on the terrace like a breakfast. Our Restaurant & Café offers a fresh, regional cuisine to solid prices.

Over highway A7 leave the A 7at Hamburg-Heimfeld, then B 73 over Buxtehude to Agathenburg. Thereafter 900 m on the right of direction " Elbfähre Wischhafen" to Drochtersen. In the middle of the villge turn to the right into the …direction Krautsand and follow the sign-posting. Over highway A 1 Leave the A 1 at Sittensen. From there follow the L 130 in the direction Horneburg. In Horneburg on B 73 and over Buxtehude to Agathenburg, there after 900 m on the right of direction " Elbfähre Wischhafen" to Drochtersen. In the middle of the villge turn to the right into the direction Krautsand and follow the sign-posting. Over highway A 27 coming on A 27 at Bremerhaven and leave it at Debstedt. Right turn and the L120 follow to Bederkesa. From there the L119/L 116 following after Lamstedt. In Lamstedt on B 495 over Hemmoor toward Wischhafen/Elbfähre. At the T-crossing (approx. 5 km before wiping port) turn to the right toward Dornbusch/Drochtersen. In Dornbusch left turn on those Dornbuscher Hafenstraße. Approx. 3 km follow the sign-posting. For larger camper bottom plates and motor home is recommended drive on to Drochtersen. In the place left, direction vacation island herb and the sign-posting turns follows.
