We arrived in the afternoon without a reservation and got a pitch for an overnight stay without any problems. Although the pitches on the vacation meadow have little shade, everything was green and very well-kept... during our stay. Unfortunately, there was only an electricity connection on the pitch and water and waste water had to be disposed of at a central point. The sanitary facilities are absolutely great and also very clean. During our stay, one wash house was even cleaned again at 11pm. The playgrounds are well equipped, although some of the play equipment could do with some new paint and a splash of oil. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Our children were able to let off steam in the various playgrounds, which offer something for all ages. We had a very good stay in the tourist area. Even though it's a campsite with a high proportion of permanent... campers and therefore a lot of no trespassing signs, the atmosphere was very relaxed. The campsite is close to the highway but still quite quiet.
We ate well and cheaply in the restaurant, but unfortunately had to wait a long time because the restaurant staff were overwhelmed.
In our opinion, it's definitely a good tip for a stopover. Nice large campsite with a nice separate area for vacationers who (only) want to stay a few days. There is even a separate area for motorhomes and the owners can use the campsite's sanitary facilities. The sanitary facilities were clean every... day and were also kept clean during the day. Nice showers and good hot water for washing up.
A nice big lake with a nice beach, there was even a restaurant with a beer garden and the staff were very friendly everywhere. Nice field to play soccer or tennis and lots of playground for (small) children, there is even a spacious playground.

As a starting point for sightseeing (Externsteine, Detmold, open-air museum Detmold, STALAG) really optimal. The sanitary facilities were great and it was a lovely place. We were there to camp and were very satisfied. The site owners were very nice and gave us... a friendly welcome. There is a restaurant opposite the reception, but we didn't eat there. And hope to gain an advantage.Not so good, as you are not treated as a customer.Be careful not to build anything permanent if the landlord needs your space. He will find a reason to terminate the lease. Many people I know are very unhappy here. They don't dare say anything. Otherwise they'll be fired.
