The pitch was full with the camper van and awning, we could just about squeeze our car into a corner. The pitches with trees or bushes were constricted by them, as the branches were not... cut back. Waste and chemicals are only disposed of in an open area on the access road without any privacy protection or roofing, which is not a nice sight, especially at busy weekends (e.g. Easter). We were there for the 8th time this year, sometimes with 3-4 week stays.
We noticed time and again that the shortcomings mentioned were not or only partially rectified. Only this year, after a lot of talking and recommendations, were sufficient power connections finally... made available.
Since this year, plots have been created on the festival meadow and distributed accordingly. In our opinion, however, these are not sufficiently dimensioned, as there is hardly any space between a 2.5 m wide caravan with awning and its neighbor. If this is also unfavorable, you can almost reach over. The premium pitches with water connection and power socket are in the immediate vicinity of the main area. For us, however, they have always been uninteresting, as you get the feeling of a "battery farm". We recommend the festival meadow or the rear area towards the dam wall.
The beach bar is a nice highlight, good service, reasonable food and good value.
The sanitary facilities are clean and up to date.
The playground has been the same for years and should definitely be improved.

Particularly suitable for cycling and hiking tours.

There is a lack of maintenance and staff. Anyone who has no experience as a camper is often left in the dark here. The owner seems hopelessly overwhelmed or listless. Lawn & tree care no. Old fire pits with... broken glass and nails. Lots of garbage on the pitch and on the shore. Damage is not removed. Not enough power connections. A rented bathroom without much comfort and hot water after looking for the extension cord for the boiler. Building sites unfinished for years. No plan or concept. New signs are important, however, where you tear your skull open instead of the groundsman coming by more often. The waste disposal station is a joke, but is included in the price! The sanitary facilities are run down. The beach bar has been renovated. Last but not least, a new price list where nobody can see through anymore. For me a reason to quit. In addition, the prices are not compatible with the place. This is arbitrary without offering more service or comfort. Conclusion: People who still have a good thing to say here should finally think outside the box. The course has incredible potential. A little insider tip at this time of year. We informed the operator of our arrival by phone in a very uncomplicated way. We were offered that someone would come and open the private bathroom for us. We had a rental bathroom, so I can't say much about the "normal" sanitary facilities. Our bathroom was adequate for our purposes. There were some technical problems with the hot water on one day, but it wasn't anyone's fault.... The owner tried very hard to get this under control and to get a plumber on Sundays. Fortunately, it probably worked. It worked again the next day. The beach bar is well frequented when the weather is nice and really a nice place to spend time. Our child (3 years) always had something to do, sand, water, playground... Everything was interesting. As we weren't far from home (35km), this is the perfect place for us for a longer weekend. For a longer stay, however, the place would not be for us, as we come from the area and already know a lot of it. So the surrounding area isn't necessarily that exciting for us. My wife and I stayed at this site for 8 days. My daughter with dog and 2 grandchildren had rented a cabin / log cabin. I was also surprised by the friendliness of the staff, from the cleaning lady to the manager, everyone... was helpful in every situation. The sanitary facilities were clean. The location is really very nice. But the problems started when we wanted to move into our pitches with 4 caravans, we had WAY TOO LITTLE space. Three caravans had to stand together in the U, one of which could not set up anything... because it was too narrow and the fourth caravan had to stand alone behind a corner. Considering we had booked very early, that was not at all possible. Then we continued with the washing-up areas. There were 2 (two!!!!) for the whole campsite. And at the showers there were notices saying that you could shower from 7:30 to 11:30 and from 17:00 to 21:30. I've never seen that before. We asked the owner about the space problem and received the answer that that's just the way it is on busy WEs. NO! If I have 4 seats, I can't suddenly make 5 or 6 of them just because there's a lot going on! The owner then invited us all for a cocktail to make up for it. Nice gesture, but it didn't solve the space problem. The showers weren't really great either. Hardly any pressure and we were already looking forward to hot water....
