We spent 4 days with the tent on the campsite...2 adults 3 children (5,8,11) we were very satisfied.the owners are very friendly and helpful...it all seems very personal and familiar.it is not a luxury place but we did not want a luxury vacation but campers. To the sea only through the dunes shopping facilities in the village (Aldi Lidl Action Zeeman and a lot of others.in Ostend you are also quite fast.we will definitely come back.

Proximity to the beach, peace and quiet, catering
Always a pleasure for 20 years
Always happy to come back for 20 years. With three children from small to now 19 years. There have never been any problems, the owners are friendly and helpful. Showers and sanitary facilities are clean and in good order. The playground offers activities for all ages. The proximity to the beach is fantastic. The restaurant is well catered for.

Unacceptable sanitary facilities, advance payment, coercion by the operator
At first glance ok, sanitary facilities unacceptable
We wanted to spend 10 days at the campsite and fled on the 2nd day after seeing the toilets. Unfortunately, we had a different idea of cleanliness than the operator. The operator takes payment in advance, for good reason, because otherwise more people would flee, as he already made it clear to us on... the 1st evening that there would be no money back. The next morning, when I saw a man spraying poisonous weedkiller on the path of the Heken, where dogs were sniffing and children were playing, I confronted the operator and the situation escalated. Suddenly he wanted to refund 8 nights and I had to sign a declaration. When I refused and we wanted to change campsites, he closed the barrier and had a couple of would-be bodguards come to increase the pressure on me. After I took my cell phone and tried to call the police, he opened the barrier, took the square for the latrines and the chip for the barrier. We left the site in a hurry. A vacation looks different. There are plenty of pictures. In the meantime I have received a message from the editor-in-chief of the ASCI that the site was visited by the inspector Mr. Maess and was taken out of the ASCI program due to the existing deficiencies - as described. In the meantime, the operator and possibly friends of the operator are trying to post good reviews here on the platform.

The owners of the campsite were very friendly and helpful. The campsite is quiet and clean, there are more permanent campers than other campers... but they were all very nice and friendly. The beach and "the streetcar" are about 500m away. The campsite is unfortunately a bit far from the center - Middelkerke,... but since the streetcar is not far away you can be in the center or other places in a few minutes. The campsite has its own restaurant and fry-up, there is a playground and a tennis court .... You can order bread and rolls the day before and go and get them in the morning. Every day around 11 a.m. a man comes by with soup and in the afternoon an "ice cream man" comes by. The sanitary facilities were a bit old-fashioned, but the owners have already renovated some of the showers. On the whole, the sanitary facilities were clean. We were very happy with our vacation and would stay at this campsite again.

I stayed at this campsite in July 2011. Everything seemed very clean and everyone was super friendly. I didn't see anyone who was unhappy about anything during the week. The area is fenced all around and has a barrier so that the children can play nicely. The soup man who drives around the site every... day is a hit and also an inexpensive way to get a meal. The beach is about 300 meters away and not overcrowded. The showers are clean and not too expensive at €1.60. Despite the weather not always being great, we had a lot of fun. We were there with our tent and despite the hustle and bustle during the day, we had a good night's sleep. I'll be back in the fall vacations and will see what it's like outside the main season. PS: First-time campers bring a power adapter if you need electricity - a blue 3-pin to Euro plug.
