For a two person tent for one night was 40 EUR which was astronomical compared to other campsites we've visited. Showers are so small that you struggle to lift your arms above your head. Clean toilets, yes it is true not of modern architecture but better than many others in other... facilities that are new but kept bad and very dirty . Lots of friendliness and helpfulness . A few steps bus stop to reach Taormina , and possibility of booking excursions to the gorges of Alcantara , Etna etc , possibility of renting cars . Large supermarkets and shopping centers a few meters from the facility . In Santa Teresa di Riva stores for bike parts . A winter this particular but in this campsite spent in absolute safety .
I will return often it is worth it . In an exceptional location between the tourist area of the Agrò Valley and that of Taormina. The village overlooks the sea with private access directly on the beach. The camping pitches... offer natural and artificial shade, ready to accommodate the itinerant camper equipped with tent, caravan or camper. The operators (brother and sister) are very friendly and helpful. The sanitary facilities are very basic and old, but super clean. The campsite has no restaurant, only a snack bar, but you can order excellent pizzas which are delivered... to the campsite. The bus to Taormina leaves 100 meters away, map is at the reception. There is a large supermarket in front of the campsite. The most necessary things for campers can be bought at the campsite (chemicals for the toilet, etc.). Günther S.September 2014Nice place for a visit to TaorminaNice place with very friendly operators. Silvio speaks very good English and the groundsman speaks good German. Nice pebbly beach. The pitches are level and large enough and there are both shady and sunny spots. The sanitary facilities are very basic but clean, but unfortunately too few. The restaurant... only offers snacks, but you can walk to the village in 10 minutes, where there are restaurants and a bakery. Also in the village is the bus stop for the public bus, with which you can travel stress-free up to Taormina. Unfortunately nobody at reception speaks German or English, only Italian, except the janitor, who is not there every day. The pitch is large with lots of shady spots and right by the sea. The beach is unfortunately not maintained, so there are... a few surprises. The sanitary facilities are no longer up to modern standards. They are cleaned but the showers are rusty and cannot be regulated as the control devices are missing, the tiles were partially present. You have to buy shower tokens, which I normally have no problem with, but perhaps you have to pay for the experience of the almost unusable showers. There is no possibility to buy anything at the campsite, not to mention a restaurant. We were also reprimanded sharply because we had to ring the bell late in the evening when we got back from dinner because everything was locked. We were harshly told that we had to be at the campsite by 22:00. We felt this was an imposition as we are adults with personal responsibility and simply did not accept this paternalism. We were also not given a key or any opportunity to return to the campsite later than 22:00. We left the campsite and will certainly not go there again.
