Frau M.July 2022PozitivnoClean, modern sanitary facilities, friendly staff, very (!) good and cheap pizza in the on-site restaurant, free use of the 5 / 10 meter diving tower of the local outdoor poolNegativnoNo "real" opportunity for children to swim in the lake, no playgrounds for "older children".Not recommended with children aged 10/12I chose this five-star campsite for our 2nd week of vacation in the hope that our children (ten and twelve years old) would be "offered something".
The first week we were at a very quiet "typical Swedish" campsite and wanted to "balance things out" for the kids at Kronocamping. There are several playgrounds,... but these are more for toddlers. There is a bouncy cushion, but this is taken out of service at 7pm - which I think is far too early in the high season.
The lake is so shallow in the beach area that swimming is not possible for several 100 m!!! even for children. This is ideal for small children, as you can only stand in the water up to knee height, but not interesting for our children, who can swim very well. We didn't want them to go several hundred meters into the lake as we would have lost sight of them. So the only option was the local outdoor pool, which has a diving platform but "nothing else".
There are several excursion destinations nearby. We won't be visiting this place again.
Worth mentioning is the mini golf course, which is more like a real golf course, and an ice cream parlor.
There is also a sauna, whirlpool, small fitness room, paddle tennis court - but not interesting for us with children and a dog.Аутоматски преведено.- Elias W.August 2021Pozitivnoeasily accessibleNegativnoimpersonal and huge, too few sanitary facilitiesYou have to like it...As already mentioned, the place has a modern cage-like feel. Used a pitch in the red area, unfortunately extremely sloping. It was a long way to the wash house. Access is by card. There were exactly 3 (!!!) toilets there: men and women mixed. The tight toilets were in a really disgusting condition... (small toilet block...).... There is a playground and a hip cushion. You can go swimming in Lake Vänern. But it's a looooong way for adults. It doesn't get deep. Small children can splash around in the water. At the motorhome pitches you feel like you're walking on a runway or highway, there are 5 lanes. Somehow it was only the good location that we found positive here. Everything else was very impersonal here. Oh yes: cars are all lined up in a row... not really ours either.Аутоматски преведено.

Despite the "hustle and bustle", you can retreat without any problems. The pitches are sufficient, the sanitary facilities are kept clean all day and the staff are friendly. If you're on the move, it's good to have a pitch facing... the lake. The car traffic disturbs the peace and quiet of the SPs near the road. There was live music in the restaurant in the evening, accompanied by enthusiastic Swedes and Norwegians. As the campsite is right on the cycle path, we were able to take a nice bike ride to Hindensrev. Recommended for everyone! We weren't... absolutely dependent on the electricity connection and therefore opted for a pitch without electricity - absolutely the best decision! We were able to find a spot right by the water between the trees with our VW bus - a little further away from the central facilities but the best location right on the lakeshore! We stretched a hammock between the trees and relaxed...sunbathing lawn and sandy beach just a few meters from the bus...TOP.Аутоматски преведено.

sabine k.August 2015PozitivnoClose to the lake and supermarketNegativnonoisy road and too shady on the pitch and by the lakeLarge, well-kept square directly on the lakeWe hadn't booked in advance and were able to choose a pitch via the PC at reception. Unfortunately, there are very few pitches near the lake. Most pitches are close to the road, which is very busy! There are lots of tall trees around the site, which unfortunately take away the sun at some point in the... afternoon. The sanitary building was at its limits with almost full occupancy, often waiting times for the men and not always clean. The kitchen was far too small. The dog bathing area, about 500m from the campsite, is much nicer than the one on the campsite, there is a beautiful sandy beach and hardly any stones in contrast to the bathing area on the campsite. Even 500m away in the lake, the water is only up to your waist and was nice and fresh. There is a nice little playground and a bouncy cushion for younger children. There are two large supermarkets about 10 minutes' walk away and the pleasant town of Lidköping is about 15 minutes' walk away. A trip to Lackö Slott is definitely worthwhile, there is also a lovely sunny bathing area on Lackö beach. We hadn't booked but still got a nice pitch for 5 nights. City center (everything available) and very idyllic Kallandsö peninsula within easy reach. Road well audible. Although it was quite crowded, it was quite quiet. Great sunbathing lawn on the lakeshore.... Sanitary good and clean, but a bit tight considering the occupancy. Access only with chip cards (which we always looked for...). Very small supermarket on site. Unfortunately, the idyllic Swedish atmosphere was missing. The site is huge and was fully booked. Without a reservation, the chances of finding a pitch are probably rather slim. The situation with the motorhome pitches is rather cramped. The sanitary buildings are modern and well equipped. However,... the number of showers and toilets is far too limited! 51 motorhome pitches share 3 toilets and 3 showers in service building 4. This overload was also noticeable in terms of cleanliness. The large kitchen with dishwasher, 2 ovens and microwave is great. We also liked the beach right on the lake. Not for those seeking peace and quiet.More event than campsiteSuper site right on Lake Vänern, 2 km to the city center, with almost all facilities, including restaurant, cafe, sauna and fitness. The site is very large. There are several modern sanitary buildings, but each with too few showers and toilets (when fully occupied). Reception friendly but overstretched.... I wouldn't want to be here in summer, it would be too noisy for me. The pitches for motorhomes are - like the paths - asphalted with grassy areas in between. However, as they are also allocated to caravan teams and, at the same price, to the whole family (e.g. caravan, tent, 2 cars, 8 people on the neighboring pitch), it gets very cramped and noisy. Music until late on Saturday. Few trees on the site, well-kept areas. Lake view from a few pitches. High price: SEK 305 (low season, all inclusive). What should not be: When paying by card, you have to give your PIN number to enter into the PC! CKE is compulsory. We visited Lackö Castle from here.
