"Nice place, good location. - We received a very friendly welcome in English and had a free choice of pitches. The ground is mostly sandy and rather uneven. The pitches are generally bordered by plants. Many large trees provide shade. Disposal stations for glass, plastic, paper and residual waste are located at short intervals. The wash house is a bit outdated, but is cleaned 4 times a day. There is a large wooded area outside the campsite that is ideal for long walks, preferably with a dog. Afterwards, a relaxing break in the Barracuda Bar is a good idea. (Beach bar 100m N-W of the CP) We felt very comfortable here.

"Wonderful little campsite - It's a small, manageable campsite in a really great location. The pitches are large enough and you can choose your own. If you choose wisely, you even have satellite reception. Dogs are welcome. The sanitary facilities are available in sufficient numbers and were always clean, even now in the high season. The rest of the site is also well-kept and always tidy. The garbage cans set up in many places are emptied several times a day and were never overflowing. All the staff were very friendly. Good English is spoken at reception and in the bar. You can buy all the essential camper utensils at reception. There is a bar with a snack bar and fresh bread rolls in the morning. The surrounding area, i.e. outside, is fantastic. Straight ahead to the north is a flat sandy beach at the mouth of the river with no waves. Ideal for children. To the left, to the west, is the Atlantic Ocean, where it is rougher. The beach is very beautiful, but it slopes down quite steeply towards the water and the tidal range is around 3.5 meters. Dogs are not allowed further out. However, if you go behind the playground immediately to the left into the woods, there are paths leading to the sea on the right every 100 meters or so, where there are no signs prohibiting dogs. The surrounding woodland is fantastic for walking or mountain biking with or without your dog. The small town is about 2 km away. There are several small stores around the market square. Overall, this place, with everything it and the surrounding area offers, was one of the best I have ever visited.

" - Very well located (close to the beach and the town), free wi-fi and motorhome access. Few sockets for electricity (4 sockets for 8 motorhomes!!). The motorhome pitches are very small, because in the space for 4 they are putting 8.

" - Very nice site on the edge of Caminha. Some of the pitches are unparceled. There are only a few permanent campers. Perfect bathing opportunities for children, as the site is located directly at the shallow, quiet mouth of a river. The pretty town of Caminha is a little further away, but is easy to reach by bike. The sanitary facilities were plentiful and decently cleaned. Free Wi-Fi was available near the reception. In contrast to weekdays, the site was very busy at weekends. We felt comfortable there and can recommend the site.

This agreeable campsite in the north of Portugal, located near the Spanish border, offers numerous shaded areas with a good number of electricity points for caravans, as well as a mini-market and restaurant. Just 200 m from the beach, one …of the attractions of Caminha campsite is its location in a pine wood with views over the Minho Estuary. You can swim and fish both in the river and on the beautiful Caminha beach. And you mustn’t miss a visit to the Santo Antão viewpoint in the Serra da Arga or the water mills in the attractive village of Vilar de Mouros.
