The site itself was beautifully green now in October with old trees very charming on the Jagst and everything was spacious and clean.
We had rented a camping pod. It was very tidy and could be heated... by a modern ceiling/surface heating system if required. But that wasn't necessary.
The Stüble offers a small menu with homemade dishes. Very tasty and good. I had the Maultaschen with homemade potato salad - from the chef himself.
I found everything good and clean. However, the planned renovation of the sanitary facilities/building is urgently needed. Good that this will be done soon. But you can recommend the place unreservedly because of the cleanliness. It's just still a bit old.
Please put a few more hooks in the pods...

Simple and small campsite with very nice operators. The sanitary facilities are older, but very clean. The pitches offer plenty of space, so everything is very relaxed. One or two weeks before our arrival, we phoned again to check whether we would get the place we wanted. This was confirmed. But when we arrived, we were told that there was "no way" we would get the place we had booked... and been promised because a guest was due to arrive the following day. We were allocated a rather cramped pitch in the far corner of the campsite. We were not given a reason why our booked pitch had been allocated to someone else. Even when we asked again on departure, no reason could be given. In response to our criticism of this and the criticism of the allocated pitch, the campsite operator became quite angry. You did not do this, but simply left a message that you would like to have a specific pitch. We would certainly have complied with this request, but the message and the alleged telephone call were lost, presumably because... of the long weekend and the many bookings, and the pitch has since been booked by another guest using the preferred pitch option.
On arrival, they were told this by my employee, they were able to look at the allocated pitch and could have chosen another pitch if they didn't like it. They then decided to stay on the pitch.
The whole thing was explained to them again in a friendly manner when they left. I'm always sorry when something doesn't go the way the guest wants it to, but they didn't want to accept the explanation and started complaining about the pitch and my staff. The location directly on the Jagst river is particularly appealing. You can set off on a lovely cycle tour directly from the site. The online reservation, including ordering bread rolls, worked really well. The sanitary... facilities are simple, functional and clean. In a nice conversation with the owner, he told us about his plans for the future. The site is to be completely redesigned in two years' time. This includes the demolition of the old sanitary facilities and the construction of a new building. So it's worth coming back again. Luckily it didn't rain while we were there. No dog shower found.Post-Easter vacation in EllwangenWe stayed at Natur & City Camping Ellwangen for 4 nights in the week after Easter. When we were planning our stay, we were given great advice on the choice of pitch. The pitch was really perfect for us and our needs. Sunny from morning to evening, not too far from the volleyball court and the sanitary... facilities, yet it was nice and relaxing and quiet. (Except for the croaking frogs and quacking ducks). The site also lived up to its name as a nature campsite, as we were able to observe a squirrel climbing the trees. The staff were very friendly, the manager said goodbye to us personally at the end and wished us a safe journey. Ideal as a stopover, as only about 15 minutes from the A7.

We chose this cozy place for a weekend of sightseeing and a circular walk to the castle and pilgrimage church. Very close to the city and yet quiet in the countryside.

The site has beautiful meadows and a simple restaurant with delicious fried potatoes.

Otherwise a nice place, especially as a starting point for cycling tours along the Jagst.

What was meant to be an expedient solution turned out to be a beautiful and highly recommended campsite: we had super nice contact on the phone when we made the reservation, which continued on... site: I had forgotten my connection piece for the power box and was promptly given one on loan on site. During our stay, we were repeatedly asked if everything was OK. The site is very well maintained and there was also a fire bowl with wood for free use. Although the sanitary facilities are not new, they are well maintained and were always clean. A bread roll service with delicious rolls is also available. Unbeatable is the proximity to the city center and the beautiful footpath through the green. The city center of Ellwangen is (unexpectedly for me) very nicely decorated and offers gastronomy in abundance - there is certainly something for everyone. If that's not enough, you can follow the staff's recommendations for bathing lakes etc.
All in all: thumbs up!
