Michael B.July 2023PositivaScenic dream location in the middle of Hohwacht Bay, friendly staff, very hard-working cleaning teamNegativaLack of peace and quiet at night, both in the permanent camper and guest camper areas there were parties until 3 a.m. almost every day. Maximum use of space leads to very narrow paths where there is no chance to avoid oncoming traffic. Footpaths/driveways in need of renovation. Frequently (especially in the evening) dirty sanitary facilities - despite a very hard-working cleaning team. Hardly any mobile internet, no WLAN available.Not for friends of a good night's sleepAfter an "adventurous" journey over the last 2 km before the campsite, the adventure of getting to the pitch continued. Thanks to the rainy weather in recent weeks, the pitch was quite soggy, which made it difficult to maneuver onto the sufficiently large pitch, especially on the narrow paths with deep,... muddy potholes. The pitch is equipped with electricity, fresh water and gray water drainage.
Unfortunately, many of the campers seem to have grown up in the stables, which is the only explanation for their behavior, especially in the sanitary building. The hard-working cleaning team had no chance of getting to grips with this mess.

After a 4-hour drive, we were told on arrival that the pitch would not be available until tomorrow. The staff were friendly and tried to rectify their booking error somehow. We were offered the option of squeezing our caravan and car onto the full tent pitch... or right next to the playground and then moving to the booked pitch the next day. But that wasn't a solution for us. Fortunately, another guest canceled at the same time, so we were able to get his pitch.
The path from reception to our pitch was very narrow in places and we had to maneuver at some of the turns. We know our camper van and its dimensions very well. Sometimes the vehicles of other guests were also blocking the lane. The groundsman should check this regularly.
Our pitch was very large. Caravan, awning/awning and 2 cars easily fitted on it and you would still have some space. There is electricity and water directly on the pitch and satellite reception was also no problem. However, there were problems with mobile phone reception, as the site is probably in a huge dead zone. On the beach you have some reception, on the pitch it's not even good enough for WhatsApp messages, newspapers or Google Maps. This is not the site's fault, but it should be mentioned. There is free WiFi in a small area around the reception.
We didn't notice anything of the military training area next door, it was probably the summer break.
The beach is rocky, you can only lie on the sand in a few places.
The restaurant (Greek) is serviceable, but there are better places outside the village.
The sanitary facilities are modern. Unfortunately, you have to insert the shower coins outside the cubicle. If you have to throw in a towel, you can go to the vending machine.
You can easily reach the surrounding area and Fehmarn from the site.Automatiskt översatt. - Marcus L.July 2022PositivaQuiet locationNegativaNo disadvantagesExcellent campsiteWe have just spent 3 weeks on this site, which is in an absolutely quiet location right on the Baltic Sea. Starting at reception, we were given an absolutely friendly welcome and competent instructions. There is a small store in reception, where you can also get bread rolls and a small selection of essential... groceries. Right next to it is a restaurant with Greek dishes and a very good price/performance ratio.
The pitch had a good 100 square meters and was equipped with fresh water/waste water. Electricity connection as usual via CEE socket.
Direct access to the beach via a total of 3 paths, 1 of which also offers the possibility of launching boats.
The beach is a purely natural beach with a mixture of sand and stones/seaweed. There are fresh water showers at 2 entrances to the beach.
There is a large playground for children, a large garbage collection area and 2 sanitary blocks.
From our point of view, the couple who take care of the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities deserve special mention. We have never experienced cleaner sanitary facilities in all the years we have been camping!

But you don't let your dog "get loose" there. You have to hope to get off the beach without "incident", or you do what we did and put the dogs in the car and look for a suitable place outside. This solution cost us 120 euros for two dogs on this vacation. Not really funny.Super price-performanceWe would go to this campsite again in a heartbeat. The disadvantages with the dogs can be forgiven. The cleanliness in the sanitary building in high season could also be a bit better. But never mind. The only thing we found a pity was that we had specially chosen a place with a sauna. But we couldn't use it. We were repeatedly told that if more people would sign up (from 4 people it would be economical) we could use the sauna. However, it remains a mystery... as to how we were supposed to find out if there were any more people to join us in the sauna. Or you would have had to walk to reception every 30 minutes and ask. The sauna theme was a bit disorganized, which we found very unfortunate. Otherwise it was very, very nice. The place is located on a pristine natural beach, which can be hiked on the right hand side to Heiligenhafen. There is also a sandy beach for bathers right in front of the campsite.
