- Heiko F.September 2024PositivaWash house, parking space on the FuldaNegativaThe site lacks a bread roll service and gas bottle sales. Highway noise,Transit area on the A7We were missing a small job with bread service and gas bottle sales. As a passionate barbecue fan, I don't like the ban on charcoal barbecues at all. Long distances for disposal. What was nice was the newly restored sanitary building. We did not test the restaurant. QR code at the barrier only works to a limited extent. The site is in a beautifully idyllic location in the Fulda valley directly on the Fulda cycle path. Beautiful paths for walksAutomatiskt översatt.
- Leon M.August 2024PositivaLocated close to the A7 but so well shielded that you hardly notice it. Steel new wash house (visit in August 2024) Excellent inn within walking distance. Quiet location. Very scenic. Dogs are welcome. Digital barrier system (contactless arrival/departure)NegativaUneven pitches. Many former permanent pitches where the gravel has remained on the pitches and grass seed has simply been thrown on top... Lots of transit traffic (a bit annoying if you stay a few days longer) No good entrance area to get into the Fulda and also no information about the quite strong current or safety devices. Not a good solution for children. Quite long distances to the wash house or rinsing facilities. There could be more water taps. More frequent cleaning intervals for the wash house would be nice.Good transit campsiteThe Fuldaschleife is a very nice site and the negative points are also whining at a high level. For the enthusiast and the perfect camping experience, it would be nice if the points of criticism were dealt with. But as the site has a very high occupancy rate, I don't think the operator will change much.
Especially because you can see that many visitors are only passing through the Fuldaschleife.Automatiskt översatt. - Ano N.May 2024PositivaSmall cozy place, uncomplicated arrival and great hiking environment especially with a dog!NegativaDirty sanitary facilities and unsuitable location for gray water disposalUnknownFirst the positive:
Getting here is more than straightforward using the QR code. It's super easy to find your pitch. Once you arrive and set up, nature is inviting, whether for a short or long walk! Here's the first big plus point: dog waste dispensers at the entrance. I think that's great! You can definitely... hear the A7, but in my opinion it's not at all annoying.
Now, unfortunately, two major shortcomings:
Super modern sanitary facilities but incredibly unkempt and unhygienic. Despite being closed daily from 11am to 3pm for cleaning, there is unfortunately dirt, cobwebs and dust everywhere. A basic cleaning has unfortunately been a long time ago. Likewise the showers. Good principle with a small changing room in front of the showers (people, don't make a fuss about the size!) but the feel-good factor in terms of cleanliness is missing there too :-( There is so much potential, please use it!
The second drawback is having to walk right past the restaurant's beer garden with a full toilet cassette/grey water tank. That was very unpleasant for me...perhaps a privacy screen or other ideas could be implemented there.Automatiskt översatt. - Markus H.April 2024PositivaVery warm welcome Late arrival also possible thanks to QR code accessNegativa--Very nice, always happy to return! The site is beautifully situated in the Fuldaschleife.
We received a very warm welcome from the operators. Later check-in would also have been possible thanks to the QR code access.
A lot of time/money/work has been invested in the whole site, site boundaries are new, planting too... The sanitary facilities are new and very nicely done.Automatiskt översatt. - Anja B.April 2024PositivaGreat clean wash house Free W LAN Friendly staffNegativaRestaurant on site was closed Fresh bread rolls have to be picked up in townBeautiful place directly on the FuldaWe had the misfortune that it rained for almost our entire stay.
That's why we couldn't use the paid but flooded comfort pitch and were allocated a smaller medium pitch.
Unfortunately, we were not refunded the difference.
The wash house is renovated and very clean, the wifi reception is good.
The restaurant... on site was still closed and there is only one restaurant within walking distance, otherwise pizza delivery service.
We will definitely be back when the weather is better.Automatiskt översatt. - Patrick H.September 2023PositivaConvenient location, online check-in.NegativaGastronomy limited in low season.Simple place. Ideal for an overnight stayWe were guests on our journey south for an overnight stopover. Uncomplicated online check-in and access possible via a somewhat grumpy barrier. Large parking spaces and extra exit at the edge.Automatiskt översatt.
- Manu und Jochen L.September 2023PositivaSpacious pitches, very good sanitary facilities, cleanliness in general, friendliness and helpfulness of the operator. Smooth booking via the campsite website.NegativaIn some areas, path lighting would be an enrichment.Nice place with very nice operatorsA classic transit site with a short connection to the BAB. We were not bothered by the ever-present, quiet background noise of the nearby highway. Check-in and check-out with the QR code sent when booking went smoothly. Unfortunately, the restaurant on the pitch was not open. Bread rolls within walking distance approx. 300m.Automatiskt översatt.
- Silvio R.March 2023PositivaNew sanitary facilities, super service, nice operatorsNegativaWhen the Fulda floods, some pitches cannot be used, but this is force majeure. Slight noise level from the highway.Great little CP with nice operatorsA small, clean campsite in a natural setting with a very nice operator couple. New sanitary facilities.Automatiskt översatt.
- Gunnar N.September 2022PositivaNewly renovated sanitary building, very clean Canoe rental very close by with friendly beer garden Very nearby, long-established butcher's shop with adjoining pubNegativaNoise from the highway No recreation room when it rains Long way from the tent meadow to the sanitary building Access to the sanitary building only possible with QR code (woe betide you if you forget it)Spontaneous camping is undesirableThe campsite is under new management and is currently being renovated, unfortunately with a lot of technology:
It is (almost) no longer possible to register in person, instead you have to register online and pay by credit card. You will then be sent a QR code with which you can (perhaps) open the barrier... to the campsite. You have to hold the QR code approx. 30 cm away from the reader (which is a shame if you have to get out of the motorhome first or the reader goes on strike).
The sanitary building has been recently renovated and is kept very clean. The showers are spacious and there is a washbasin next to the shower cubicle in the anteroom. Showering is included (no shower coins necessary). Unfortunately, a clothes rack has been forgotten. Don't put your clothes in the sink. Then you can wash them straight away because the tap will automatically start running.
If you enter the sanitary building at night (in future only possible with a QR code!), the lights come on automatically (motion detector). However, if you sit on the bowl for longer, the lights go out again and it becomes pitch dark. Don't forget to print out QR codes for your fellow travelers or play them on your cell phone, otherwise access to the sanitary building will not be possible.
It's a long way from the tent meadow to the sanitary building! It would be great if a second toilet facility could be built there. It's missing at the moment!
There is a separate stall with (only) 3 washing-up stations for washing dishes. Tall people could bump their heads on the low ceiling.
On the tent meadow there is another washing-up area with 4 sinks (unfortunately only cold water at the moment).
Unfortunately there is no recreation room for bad weather. There is also no kitchen for canoeists or bicycle campers.
At night you can clearly hear the noise from the highway. In this respect, a remedy is probably not possible!
Unfortunately, the campsite restaurant was already closed in mid Sept. 22.Automatiskt översatt. - Caroline S.July 2022PositivaGreat location: bathing facilities directly on site, great sanitary facilities, beer garden on site, playgroundNegativanothing.Very pleasant stay, recommendableWe were on the site with our van, we found our way around very quickly, the site operators were very friendly and helpful. It was great that we were able to jump into the Fulda right after arriving, this Fulda loop with the adjacent forest is really nice... You can easily get to the next larger town... by bike for shopping, but you can also eat well in Büchenwerra or of course directly on the site. What we found positive was that there weren't too many permanent campers and the stationary caravans weren't completely fenced in, which makes the site much more inviting...
We'll definitely be back again.Automatiskt översatt. - Bianca S.April 2022PositivaEverything uncomplicated, great sanitary facilities. - A. D.August 2021PositivaLarge tent meadow with lots of space, idyllic locationNegativa-Beautiful summer vacation with the familyWe spent our two-week summer vacation here in July/August 2021 as a family with 3 children (8-12 years) with a tent. Our pitch on the very large tent meadow was huge and we basically had the meadow to ourselves from Monday to Thursday, from Thursday it got a bit crowded, but always in such a way that... the distances to other guests always remained extremely generous. The campsite operators were nice, the bread roll service was good (normal bread rolls 50 cents/piece, grain rolls 80 cents/piece). The restaurant at the campsite was closed, which didn't bother us at all and is completely understandable due to the pandemic. Instead, there are good pizza delivery services nearby. The location of the campsite on a large loop of the Fulda is fantastic and we were able to observe a variety of animals, especially birds (blackbirds, nuthatches, treecreepers, gray herons, goldfinches, blackcaps, cormorants, mallards, geese, ...) on the tent meadow and on the Fulda, which left an idyllic impression overall. The highway running along the ridge can always be heard as a quiet background noise, but that didn't bother us. The sanitary building is a bit older and the shower and toilet cubicles are a bit cramped in places, but it still serves its purpose and was always quite clean. There are plenty of leisure activities in the surrounding area, including a beautiful outdoor pool in Guxhagen, the city of Kassel and of course the many opportunities for hiking and cycling. In terms of infrastructure, the campsite is well connected (Guxhagen has its own train station 3km from the campsite and the nearest highway entrance is also only about 2km away). I would describe the prices overall as reasonable. All in all, a nice campsite where we had a good rest.Automatiskt översatt.
- Norna S.August 2019PositivaLocated close to the A7.NegativaIn need of renovation. We were just ...... One night on the CP for transit. The place seems to be a bit outdated. Permanent camper pitches available with Wowa, but dilapidated. Staff very friendly, unfortunately the restaurant was closed for private reasons. Tourist pitches nice and large with grass surface. Sanitary facilities clean but very old and with coin-operated showers, some of which you had to search for.Automatiskt översatt.
- Gunnar S.July 2019PositivaCheck in until 22:00, location on the A7 perfect for a stopoverNegativaSanitary facilities need refurbishmentStopoverArrival possible until 22:00 - very suitable for a stopover. Restaurant is really good. German cuisine. Sanitary facilities could urgently use renovation, but were clean. Nice staff - we were brought to the pitch even at 20:45, bread rolls ordered, ready. You can hear the A7 - but it's not too bad. We would come again.
- Carlos G.May 2019PositivaVery close to the highway and beautifully situated on the Fulda riverNegativaIf you want, you can always find disadvantages. It costs money ;-) Certainly not a 5-star campsite, but it shouldn't be.Nice campsite near the highwayWe were passing through on our way from the south to the north and actually wanted to spend the night at the car park in Guxhagen. That's when we spotted the camping sign. It is open until 22:00. So we went there and didn't regret it. A very nice landlady welcomed us shortly before 22:00. Unfortunately,... the restaurant was already closed, but the site is in a very nice location. We had a nice pitch with a stone terrace and were allowed to relax as we were leaving the next morning. You could certainly spend a few days longer there. With a dog and when passing through, the place is brilliant, actually too bad, but as northern Germans living in the south, we are drawn to the north as quickly as possible. We would like to thank the owner of the campsite for the warm and friendly welcome. We would love to come back.Automatiskt översatt.
- Michael P.May 2019PositivaPeace and quiet, beautiful area for cycling, bread roll serviceNegativalong way to empty the waste/sewage waterRelaxing long weekendWow, nothing has been written here for a long time :-). We were guests at the campsite on Father's Day 2019 until Sunday. Since the journey could be quite long due to traffic jams, I already registered by phone at 17:00 and got the answer that coming later is no problem, the registration is occupied... until 22:00. We arrived at around 18:0 and Mrs. Schlag greeted us in a friendly manner. After a short briefing, she allocated us a pitch right next to the Fulda and we were able to spread out. The caravan was half on a platform, half on the meadow (so we could have breakfast in the morning with dry feet on the rest of the platform) The electricity access was less than 5m away, but the water was about 30m away. It was about 250m to the first-aid rooms. The first-aid rooms are a bit older and you have to insert 50 cents to get hot water for about 7-8 minutes. You can argue about whether it is contemporary to get hot water with a payment machine, for me it's okay, because in other places you also have to pay for it, then it's just included in the daily rate. The sanitary facilities are clean and don't smell, but the shower cubicles are very small, so you have to undress in front of them and then dry off. A squeegee is available afterwards, but apparently some people don't know how to use it. We didn't eat at the campsite as I like to barbecue and do this every day when camping. The waste water or to empty the toilet cassette is outside the campsite. There is also a bread roll service, wifi costs extra. We cycled to Kassel and Melchingen, both of which are very well signposted. You can fish directly at the campsite and you can get a permit at the registration desk. This is my own assessment of the campsite, we will definitely come again as it is pretty much halfway between home and the North Sea/Baltic Sea.Automatiskt översatt.
- Frank F.November 2017Positivawas !!!!! Winter campsiteNegativavery unfriendly operators, recently closed from November, but open all year round according to the internetThe square is no longer what it used to be!We spent the night here on 29.10.2017. The registration was a bit complicated with a telephone number. But it worked out. We said goodbye with the words: See you in three days! The groundsman said, see you then. On 1.11.2017, we stood in front of a closed barrier. And not just us. A family from France... also wanted to stay there with us. We rang the bell at the campsite operator's office. A very unfriendly woman came to the door and snapped at us about what we wanted here. After all, they are closed from 01.11.2017. She didn't let us get a word in edgewise and insulted us, saying that campsites are closed from November everywhere in Germany. We were told to buy a new camping guide. In spring 2017, we received a current camping guide from this very woman, paradoxical? We have been going to this campsite for more than 20 years, mainly in winter as an overnight stay, very convenient because of its proximity to the highway. Until a few years ago, the restaurant on the site was also open in winter. As this is unfortunately no longer the case, we had reserved a table in the local restaurant. We couldn't take advantage of this because we couldn't spend the night here and had to look for another place very late. We are very disappointed after so many years and will never return to this place. We recommend new nice service-friendly operators who respond to the campers and understand what it's all about!!! Then we'll be back.Automatiskt översatt.
- Dagmar K.October 2017PositivaClose to the highway, relatively flat parking space, good signage from the highway exitNegativaSanitary area outdated (outmoded coin-operated showers), lawns very dampOvernight stayVery nice welcome on Sunday evening, including briefing on the pitch in the dark. The pitches are probably often soaked in rain in summer. The sound of the A7 also accompanies the whole night.Automatiskt översatt.
