- D. C.September 2023PositivaLocation, restaurant, poolNegativaLots of traffic on the square, many (loud) motorcyclistsnot always a very quiet place in a great areaThe site is located on the road from Porto to Corte, approx. 1.5 km inland from Porto. Porto-Marina is an additional 1 km away. A terraced site with very nice pitches for campers. There are almost exclusively shady pitches, slightly parceled out, which are quite suitable for Bulli/Kawa, but sometimes... difficult to reach for larger motorhomes. The sanitary facilities are clean and functional (there are even two toilets with glasses!), but they are all located in a slightly higher, central building. There are various bungalows/mobile homes behind the site. The access road to these accommodations runs through the middle of the site, so there is a lot of traffic in the morning (when everyone leaves) and in the evening (when everyone returns). The campsite is also extremely popular with motorcyclists, who are not all considerate when riding their noisy bikes through the campsite. There is so much traffic in the mornings and evenings that it can be annoying even in the off-season. The pitches, which are close to the road, are also not really quiet during the day.
In addition to the friendly, English-speaking reception with bread service, the site also has a pizza restaurant and a café/bar. The pizza is great, but there is really ONLY pizza.
Although the site is quiet during the day and at night, the "high traffic density" was annoying and didn't really allow us to relax. But this also depends a bit on the pitch. The pool is very nice, with a "built-in" natural rock and sun loungers. You can start many hikes (Spilonca gorge) and bike tours (Calanche, Piana) from the site. The town of Porto itself consists of only a few stores (and two real supermarkets!) on the main road, Porto-Marina, the actual "town" is beautiful, but mega-touristy and expensive.
At 26€ (2 pers./van, with electricity, no card payment possible) p.n. in the low season a fair price for a not always relaxing place...Automatiskt översatt. - Rainer L.August 2021PositivaGreat location, very well maintained, access to the river, only 5 minutes from Porto, nice pool.NegativaOnly suitable for tent or camper van.Very nice!We stayed here with a tent for one night, but could have stayed longer :-)
The site is really beautiful, the tent pitches are very lovingly demarcated with lots of stones and virtually built into the hillside. The sanitary facilities were totally ok, the people in reception and the restaurant were very... nice and the pizza was also very good :-)
If you are traveling with a tent or bus, then it is a really recommendable place. Just as much a starting point for activities in the mountains as by the sea (boat trip to Scandola, for example - can be booked directly at the campsite).Automatiskt översatt. - ABNT A.July 2017Positiva. Natural camping arranged in terraces with shadow from the trees . Pizzeria restaurant . Swimming pool . Proximity to rivers, hiking, etcNegativa. Usually noisy people at the bungalows, mostly no nature lovers and typical beach touristsVery nice natural camping place arranged in terraces with large shadowGreat camping place for nature lovers, away from bonded touristic camping traps with animations, noise, lazy people, etc... at the sea. Great place for bully/campervan active camping lovers
- Jörg T.June 2017PositivaGreat location, Nice pool, Free WLANNegativaNoneWonderfully located, great alternative to the large squares in PortoA very lovingly designed site with pretty terraces, although most of them are only suitable for tents due to the lack of access. The pool, which is not too big but is beautifully integrated into the slope, is a dream, especially for children.Automatiskt översatt.
- Peter P.June 2016Positivaindividual pitches; plenty of shade; close to Porto (shopping); close to the river Porto (swimming)NegativaNot all pitches can be reached by car, so a bit of a drag on arrival and departureSpace in a unique locationThere is little to add to Zelter X's comment: you camp partly between rocks the size of menhirs; very individual pitches; lots of shade from numerous different trees. On my tour of the site, I saw three newly constructed, flat, terraced pitches (some with shade) for motorhomes and caravans in the upper... part of the site, which can be easily accessed via a tarred path up the slope. This makes the site considerably more attractive for motorhome drivers! Sanitary facilities with hot and cold water at the sinks and washbasins; adjustable showers; everything mostly clean. No market, but baguettes in the morning. The pizzeria offers good pizza, which is lovelessly served on a halved pizza box (they want to save plates...) although you sit in the pizzeria. Be careful with the price of drinks in the pizzeria: we paid 16,- EUR for 2x 0,5 liter light beer! Diagonally opposite the main road, a path leads down to the river - everything is very green and overgrown - there are inviting bathing spots by the water but no sandy bays like in the Bavella valley.Automatiskt översatt.
- Roland S.September 2012The campsite is wonderfully situated at the foot of a massif. It is impressive how the site has been integrated into the slope with its many stone boulders. The sanitary facilities are of a good standard and there are plenty of them. The pizzeria belonging to the campsite has a manageable menu. The helpfulness of the staff should be emphasized. If we go to Corsica again, we will definitely return to this campsite.Automatiskt översatt.
- Zelter X.July 2012The campsite is located approx. 1.5 km from Porto on the road towards Evisa. It is beautifully situated on a slope under the imposing high mountains around Porto and in the middle of the forest. The tent pitches are all very individually laid out on small terraces and between some huge boulders / tafoni... rocks. Most of the pitches are shady. Many can only be reached via small steps; the proportion of campers is correspondingly high. However, there are also pitches suitable for caravans. You can indicate your preferred pitch when you register - you will then be driven around in a small electric vehicle and can choose your own pitch. The ground is partly rocky - sturdy pegs and a hammer are an advantage. The site has numerous sanitary facilities, all of which are very well maintained and always look clean. However, everyone has to bring their own toilet paper. The campsite has a pool, which also made a well-kept impression. We had the dubious honor of witnessing a pool party during our stay. Even the quietest campsite could not escape the background noise. There is also a small pizzeria on site. The prices at the campsite are a bit steep and you can only pay in cash. Nevertheless, the really idyllic campsites, well-kept facilities and friendly staff are well worth the money! If you like good mussels and appreciate friendly service, I recommend the "Brise de Mer" restaurant on the road to the harbor / Genoese tower in Porto!Automatiskt översatt.
- Florian R.August 2011Location and surrounding area: The campsite is located somewhat away from Porto, which can be reached by car in about 2 minutes. The Calanche is just as easy to reach. There is a stream for swimming right next to the campsite, which is within walking distance. The campsite: The staff are very friendly... and speak English and French. Thanks to the many trees, there is mostly shade on the terraced campsite, and cars can be parked near the tents depending on the location. There are plenty of toilets in the washrooms and a large area for washing up. In the HS, it only gets a little congested at the showers at peak times. There is also a pool, a restaurant and wifi reception everywhere on site, although you have to register with your name and address. Cleanliness: The washrooms were always clean. The toilets were cleaned several times a day and were clean 90% of the time. Conclusion: We felt very comfortable here, as the pitch always offered sufficient shade against the heat and Porto and the surrounding area were easy to reach. Price: we paid 28.80 euros per day for 2 people, 1 small tent, car and electricity.Automatiskt översatt.
