Campsite in Staffelsee with very friendly permanent campers
As there is no bridge to the island, camping on the Buchau is very quiet and relaxed. We go there every few years for a long weekend with our canoe paddler. The water is clean and good for swimming from several bays.

- Beautifully situated - Water sports of all kinds possible directly "in front of the tent entrance" - "Campfire romance" included - Only accessible by boat - A real "campsite" without electricity, without animation, without frills
Negativa
- Depending on your point of view: There is no electricity on site, rather spartan wash houses and no frills. But for us, that's exactly the reason to come to Buchau :-)
Beautiful
We have been here several times with our tent over the last 10 years. The location is unique and you experience a very special "Buchau feeling".

But if you're looking for comfort, luxury, etc., you're in the wrong place. There is everything you need, but nothing more.

Only 1-2x more jetties for mooring and a somewhat better maintained tent meadow would be desirable.

But otherwise 5 out of 5 :-)

Beautiful place in the lake
The ferry D'Fischerin runs from Seehausen to Buchau every 80 minutes from 10am. There are no cars, a nice landlord, many permanent campers who occupy and enliven the shore. There are a few tent pitches and it is rather cramped and very lively. The sanitary facilities are perfectly ok. For us paddlers,... the lake is the most beautiful in Upper Bavaria, the restaurant on the Buchau is simple but delicious. You can easily get to the mainland with the fisherwoman, departure times are also on the internet, or even better, you have your own boat.

The campsite is located on an island in the Staffelsee and can only be reached by boat. No vehicles are allowed, so it is a campsite for tents only. Perfect for relaxing, no roads nearby, but the only leisure activity is swimming in the Staffelsee, which is also pleasantly warm in summer. If you want to experience more, you have to cross over to the mainland, which is approached every few hours.
