"Another attempt - Another attempt to spend the night at an NL campsite. A chicken coop right at the entrance and an old 2CV in the middle of it - it makes your heart bleed ... that's just not possible. The individual pitches have Dutch names ... and that in the south of France. High hedges ... so no contact with neighbors. The sanitary facilities have lots of little 3cm stumps that you can get stuck on and hurt yourself badly. The showers finally have enough hooks - but you have to get changed on 5 tiles measuring 30x30cm - there would have been room for more ... should have been considered before building. Apperitif can also be used ... if it suits Tom ... otherwise you'll be brusquely turned away in very stammy French. Conclusion: the Dutch would like to keep to themselves here.

"Nature camping in the forest at an altitude of 700 meters - Very rustic campsite with a warm welcome, especially if you are Dutch! The sanitary facilities are fine. The pool is uncomfortable, no sun loungers. The pitches are generally shady, only a few offer a view. Great campsite. Warm welcome Sanitary meets. The pool is uncomfortable, no sun loungers. Pitches are generally shady, few offer a view as claimed in some places. The surroundings of the campsite are quite beautiful. The price is too high for what is on offer. All in all good for a few days. Positives (certainly), but we weren't very enthusiastic - the atmosphere rather Dutch, the altitude (700 meters) makes for quite cold nights in low season.

Profil

The campsite Mas de Messier lies on the border between the rugged Causse du Larzac and the plains around the Mediterranean Sea. The campsite is situated 40 km of Millau, 70 km of Montpellier and the Mediterranean Sea. Mas de …Messier is 680 metres above sea level. This beautifully situated camping site has plots, varying in size from generous to very large indeed. The natural vegetation among which these plots have been created means there is plenty of privacy for our guests and most have a fantastic view over the surrounding countryside. The sights round Mas de Messier is a wonderful nature and there are many picturesque villages or towns as Millau, St. Affrique, Montpellier, Agde, Beziers and Sète. The area directly around the campsite is great for cycling, hiking and horse riding. Of course as it’s France, there are always plenty of great markets, shops, museums and even caves.

From the north On the A75, 40km after Millau you should take exit 49 Le Caylar. Drive to the village of Le caylar. At the T-junction turn right. After the passing through the village turn right. You'll pass a garage …on your left after a few hundred metres then at the next roundabout take the second exit. At the next roundabout take the first exit signposted to St. Félix de l'Héras and Les Rives. Before St. Félix de l'Héras turn right in the direction of Les Rives. After about three minutes you'll find Mas de Messier on your left on the D155. From the south Taking the A75 from Lodeve, in the direction of Millau; after the tunnel of Pas de L'escalette you should take exit 50: St. Félix de l'Héras. At the roundabout take the third exit, signposted to St. Félix de l'Héras and Les Rives. Before St. Félix de l'Héras turn right in the direction of Les Rives. After about three minutes you'll find Mas de Messier on your left on the D155.
