The cleanliness of the sanitary facilities has deteriorated a lot this year.on a 4-star campsite you can expect as a camper that a thorough cleaning takes place daily.the groundskeeper couple makes a great effort, but they can't do everything.in the past they had extra staff for this.
The practically non-existent bathing beach has been a nuisance for campers and bathers for years, and the almost annual lowering of the water level due to repair work on the dam wall would have been a good opportunity to level the terrain here.
The slipway for boats is a disaster, too narrow and far too steep, and here too a significant improvement could be achieved with little effort.
There have been two rowing boats lying around on the tent meadow for years, which is unfortunately not just a visual defect.
The disposal point for motorhomes and the machine for cleaning the toilet cassettes are still locked and therefore unusable.
The waste separation works, but unfortunately a huge lake forms in front of the garbage cans after a heavy downpour.
At some times there are simply too many dogs on the site and not every owner keeps to the compulsory leash and walking them across the tent meadow is not allowed!
It's a shame that this beautiful site has so many shortcomings.

We parked to the right of the gate, walked in, and were not greeted friendly, but as if we interrupted their day.
To continue, the receptionist was wearing a t-shirt... that read "Born to be White". My wife and I found this incredibly offensive, and would have left if we were not so tired from driving all day.
The attitude never improved, but after we got past the racism, we had a nice time. Great hikes, even took a boat cruise near the dam.
Biking trails would be a little tricky for some, but mountain bikes should be okay.
But after the reception, we would never stay here again.

The unnecessary barrier closure from 1 to 3 pm must be taken into account, otherwise a planned excursion can quickly end behind the closed barrier.
The staff are friendly and check-in is straightforward. The campsite's own "supermarket",... with its very limited range, has more of a token function. As there are also no shopping facilities in the surrounding area, it is rather problematic to get supplies beyond the bread roll service.
The sanitary facilities are kept clean, even if you have to allow for waiting times at peak times.
The on-site restaurant "Vierjahreszeiten" has a nice design, but the choice of food and variety is rather disappointing. The terraced pitches are large enough, even if the existing but non-functioning taps make a longer walk to the only sanitary... building necessary. We've never had such delicious, fresh bread rolls for breakfast. The staff are always nice and friendly despite the lack of staff and overtime. We would love to come back.....Automatiskt översatt.

And when you consider that there was enough time to maintain the facilities in the spring, it is incomprehensible that a child had to be injured on the dilapidated playground before anything was repaired here. It is not just... since 2018 that the poor condition has been pointed out in the reviews. This shows us that the operator is NOT taking its duty to ensure safety seriously. And then it doesn't help if you want to generate attention on the internet with your "good deeds". Free ice cream for children from the Saalfeld Workers' Welfare Association is one thing, but the handling of children's play equipment is quite another. And let's be honest, would anyone want to have their house or an electrical installation built by someone with this attitude to road safety obligations? The playground is now playable again, but the mini-golf course is in an equally wretched state, so you have to wait for the next accident. The access to the campsite is quite cramped, if 2 caravans/motorhomes have to pass each other it's really a matter of millimeters. The reception is completely overwhelmed on... arrival and departure. Eternal waiting times, especially as the reception also has to serve the kiosk. In other words, you have to queue for ages even for 1 ice cream. Reserved pitches are simply changed and exchanged. The really bad thing, however, is the tiny pitches when the campsite is full. Three pitches are quickly turned into just two, and if extra tents are placed on the pitch, the receptionist says: "You're not paying for the pitch, but for the caravan and the people, so you're not entitled to a full pitch. Fits! The campsite seems to have been really nice in the past, but unfortunately everything here is falling into disrepair. The sanitary building is not really cleaned, the playground is quite dangerous due to the broken wood everywhere. If you want to hire a boat (as advertised on the website) you are told that there are no rowing boats, the motorboats are all broken and there are only 2 pedal boats, 1 of which is unusable... We tried to reserve a table in the restaurant (which looked really nice). Answer: Unfortunately we are full, nothing to do in the beer garden either, no at any time in the evening. Well, you have to accept that. But when you walk past in the evening and everything is empty, you wonder what it's all about...Automatiskt översatt.

The weather was very hot, unfortunately there was hardly any shade. The beach was totally overcrowded and small, partly shared with boat moorings. The briefing on the site (possibly also by site plan, which was unfortunately missing) was not so good. Sanitary facilities... super clean. When the place was really full at the end of the week, you were already very close to the neighbor. It was also good that our four-legged friends were no problem. Hiking would have been an option.
