Great place better than expected
Great place, very nice reception, there was even a give away to say goodbye. Diekt an der Lahn in the front area for tourers further back the festival campers. Place well maintained, only a few bulbs of the path lighting would have to be replaced. Lots going on at the weekend on the Lahn with kayaks... and boats. In the morning hot air balloons often rise from the village opposite.
Sanitary clean and functional is cleaned regularly. Nice lighted corners to sit in the evening with other campers. Pool and mini golf on the site. Bread rolls are available daily from the bakery in front of the site. There is a small kiosk for food and treats at the registration desk.
On the whole, the site is highly recommended. Access narrow on the main roads in Oderbach but we campers know our vehicles.

The site was fully booked at the weekend. Many of them were groups of campers. A "hygiene concept" stipulated that caravans and motorhomes were to be set up parallel to the paths. Tents, however, formed "tent castles" and celebrated. The generally inappropriate camping behavior of these people was very... unpleasant.

Masks were compulsory in the sanitary building. The permanent campers basically ignored it and some cleaning staff also preferred to clean without it and thought that keeping their distance from the campers cleaning their teeth was superfluous.

Our pitch was perfectly OK. Grass, flat and big enough. However, it should no longer happen that my 25 m cable is too short according to the standard. It does here.

At weekends, when the pitch is full, we wouldn't want to come here again (because of the co-"campers"). Otherwise: Not a highlight, but OK.

The site has a 4 star rating.
As a well-traveled camper, the place would not even get 2 stars from me. The photos on the campsite website are from the past and in no way reflect the current situation. The site and the sanitary facilities are unkempt. The operators and reception staff are unfriendly.... Only the bare minimum is done on the campsite. The campsite is mainly on a slope and is only suitable for motorhomes in the lower area. Half of the site is occupied by permanent campers, some of whom have adventurous constructions to compensate for the slope. When we arrived, we were allocated a pitch with a 30 degree slope. That is not possible. Neither for a motorhome nor for a tent. After complaining, we were given one of the pitches further down. This pitch was a cleared permanent pitch, partly filled with coarse gravel. The rest was bare earth. Lawn? Not a thing.
To summarize: Not a single pitch is leveled and meets camping standards. Sanitary facilities unkempt. Bicycle rental, as described on the website: Not available!

Who awards 4 stars for such a place is incomprehensible. I will write to these institutions and ask for an explanation as to how this site was awarded 4 stars.
Some of the sanitary facilities are cleaned by unqualified staff. The best thing was that we saw a woman who was a permanent camper on the site "cleaning" the toilets. We saw it ourselves. In 10 minutes she was done with the entire ladies' sanitary block. Accordingly, it looked

Sufficient and pleasant
We were here at the end of June 2019 and only used the site as a stopover. It is adequate and functional for this. No restaurant on site. Electricity is charged according to consumption.

The Camingolatz is located directly on the Lahn, the staff is very nice and very helpful. The sanitary facilities are old, but it's rare to find them more clean and well maintained. Nice trees if you are looking for shade, and the bakery in the village is awesome!!!! As is the Italian restaurant.

Very nice campsite right on the Lahn. We had 2 great rental caravans with full equipment. There was nothing missing, fridge in the awning, barbecue, TV, cooking facilities, crockery and cutlery, bed linen, everything was perfect. Very friendly welcome and friendly, helpful staff. The sanitary facilities were spotlessly clean and showers were included. We had a great 3 days at the Odersbach campsite.

Perfect, had a great weekend
Great place right on the Lahn. Very friendly reception, even called because we arrived late. The sanitary facilities were spacious and always tiptop. Free showers, the annoying coin-operated machines were deactivated. Right in the village with a bakery, supermarket and pizzeria on the doorstep. Unfortunately... no canoe tours start from here, but from Weilburg there are many possibilities and then you paddle past your caravan at some point. We will definitely be back!

I felt very, very good here.
Space, location, friendliness of operator and guests, everything is great. The location to Weilburg is great, the path along the Lahn is recommendable. Also the nearby bakery. Conclusion: again and again!

The campsite is very outdated. You can judge that if you were here every year in your youth. There is a need for modernization. There is a children's playground, mini golf and a municipal outdoor pool right next to the campsite (both are run by the town). When we were here, the outdoor pool was unfortunately... closed, contrary to our expectations. There was no announcement on the website of the town of Weilburg or the campsite. If, like us, you have chosen the campsite for a weekend because of the outdoor pool, this is disappointing. The staff are nice.

Well-kept campsite
We spent one night here in our tent. The campsite makes a well-kept and well-structured impression. There is a small kiosk, seating for campers, breakfast facilities, a small bakery around the corner, a barbecue area and a children's playground. A swimming pool can be used free of charge. The sanitary facilities are not the newest, but they are clean.

The campsite scores points for its direct location on the Lahn with a boat ramp. The campsite is therefore suitable as a base for kayak tours lasting several days. You shouldn't expect too much from the site itself. The sanitary facilities are getting on in years. The temperature fluctuations when showering... were more than unpleasant. The sanitary facilities are also more functional than comfortable. The adjacent public swimming pool can be used free of charge. However, it is inconvenient that you have to collect the tickets from reception in advance. Thanks to the bakery in front of the campsite, which was also open on Sundays, the inadequate supply on the campsite is not a problem. For other groceries, however, you have to drive (by car) to Weilburg. For us, the campsite does not deserve 4 stars.

It was great again!!!
My husband and I were in Odersbach for the third time from 20.08. - 25.08.17. We can't complain about the friendliness and helpfulness. The toilets are cleaned regularly twice a day. Unfortunately, there are still camping guests who do not consider it necessary to leave a clean toilet. The nights were... so quiet that you could have heard a mosquito coughing. The pizzeria in front of the campsite is great. The campsite also pays for the swimming pool.

Yay and nay
We've already been there three times. The site is right on the Lahn. The scenery is really great. The pitches could be a bit bigger. The sanitary facilities are mostly clean and use is included in the price.
On our first vacation, our children were playing during the lunch break and were immediately... attacked by the old groundsman, as they are naturally not so quiet. He didn't understand and insisted on the lunchtime quiet. At this point: Children are your future!
Since last year, this groundsman no longer seems to be there. Now there is a slightly younger groundsman who has unfortunately taken over the unfriendliness and behavior. You could even describe him as barking. However, with the noise made at night by young people and other campers as well as permanent campers, it doesn't seem to matter. Nobody cares. At this point: Children are your future!
We spoke to other campers and permanent campers. The site warden and the "boss" seem to see a system in the unfriendliness and flippancy.
Fortunately, the women at reception, the good location, the clean sanitary facilities and the campers make up for this.

We stayed here spontaneously for 3 nights. My wife found the location in the valley a bit oppressive but for the rest of us it was ok. The toilets were ok but older. The shower cubicles were particularly draughty. Really nice is the small pool of the local swimming pool, which is located directly at... the campsite and also offers a tiny area for non-swimmers. Unheated but only slightly chlorinated. The separation from the permanent campers, who are usually rather annoyed by travelers, is nice. All in all, an appealing site with some minor drawbacks.

CommentA campsite with rather 2-3 stars. Sanitary facilities very outdated. Water pipes outdated (when showering the water gets hot when someone else is using cold water. Cleaning of the sanitary areas apparently does not take place on Sundays and public holidays. No store for food or baked goods. Bakery... in front of the campsite is not open on Sundays and public holidays. No helpfulness from the staff ("you have to turn the caravan yourself and somehow get it onto the pitch"). Narrow access roads. Site not very well maintained.

Beautiful location with minor flaws
Stayed at the campsite over a long weekend in May. Fortunately we had booked in advance because the pitch was full. The pitches were very cramped. The sanitary facilities are already a bit outdated and due to the full occupancy, the showers were very sandy early in the morning and if you came later,... the water was no longer warm. The location directly on the Lahn is reserved for canoeists, you can't see the river from the caravan site. We will definitely not visit the site again on public holidays and weekends, but may try again at a less popular time.

Very cozy new rental properties!
We spent the night in the new camping barrels. Simply super cozy! The staff were also very friendly. We didn't manage to arrive until 7pm, but were still given a very friendly welcome. All the staff were also very interested in how we liked the new camping barrels. More cabins with almost full facilities will be added soon. This makes it ideal for cyclists, hikers and canoeists if you don't have a tent etc. with you.
