- Dirk H.September 2024PositivaThe place was great - fresh water / gray water / the connections at the place - great view of the surroundings - staff at the reception was niceNegativaBig annoyance were the sanitary facilities: mold in the showers - in the toilet wing was hardly cleaned or not at all - leftovers (unfortunately some guests are like that) were not removed by the cleaning staff - holders of the toilet brush completely dirty - floor cleaning does not seem to have been done - entrance carpets not vacuumed - the only trash can at the reception was not emptied for 3 days - dirt on the floor to the garbage station5 stars premium NEVERYou can't rest on your laurels, even if you have a supposedly good reputation. This can quickly change and the statement from the staff (in response to the sanitary facilities): we are women - we don't come to the men's toilets - is questionable and should really be reconsidered. High price and little service just doesn't fitAutomatiskt översatt.
- Kerstin G.August 2024Positivagreat view of the Zugspitze, shopping facilities in the immediate vicinity, free use of the sauna and wellness area, short walk to Kneipp bathing, restaurant and bus stop nearbyNegativaTransformer station with loud humming, Expensive spacenice campsite, if the pitch is rightWe had a great vacation at the campsite. We were also lucky enough to have a large pitch at the front of the campsite with a great view of the Zugspitze. We were also not far from the scullery and the sanitary facilities. In the middle or rear area of the campsite there is a transformer station that... is always noisy. We were so glad that we didn't notice it in the front area. The wellness area with sauna is very nicely designed. Overall a nice place, but quite expensive.Automatiskt översatt.
- Florian S.August 2024PositivaLocation near the tourist attractionsNegativa- Transformer station - obstructed mountain view - poorly equipped private bathroom - very poor exercise facilities for dogsOnce and never again! We booked a premium pitch with private bathroom for three nights in August 2024. Basically, the campsite is scenic and centrally located. From my point of view, however, the price-performance ratio is not right here.
The pitch, we had no. 40, was too small for a caravan (7.5 m). As a result, we stood... with the awning facing the main path and had to walk around our caravan to get into the bathroom. Directly opposite the pitch is a relatively large transformer house. On the one hand, it obscures the view of the mountain panorama and on the other, it robbed us of two nights' sleep. The transformer hums and buzzes 24 hours a day. You could even hear the noise through the closed windows of the caravan. This was the main reason why we left the day before. On the day of arrival we had asked for a different pitch, but this request could not or would not be granted.
Directly diagonally opposite the pitch, the stadium floodlight of the campsite is switched on at dusk, a much too bright lantern with very cold light. This lantern does not allow for any coziness in front of the caravan, watching the stars and Perseids and the evening mountain panorama, no way!
It was not only for these reasons that the pitch did not deserve the Premium classification. There is no waste water connection for the caravan and no direct flushing facilities on the pitch. The mold stains in the bathroom round off the negative impression.
Further negative points: In my opinion, contrary to the statement on the website, dogs are not really welcome. There is only a short dog-walking path to a small meadow on the Loisach or to the Kneipp pool. This path is fenced in, very narrow and peppered with numerous prohibition signs, very unpleasant! There is no direct access behind the campsite to the Hammersbach footpath or to the Kreuzeckbahn cable car, for exampleAutomatiskt översatt. - Ina N.June 2024PositivaThe beautiful view and private bathroomNegativaNot a nice facility for us with childrenNo 5 stars for usThe staff is unfriendly and the resort offers nothing for children over 6 years except a small playground.Automatiskt översatt.

- Joe D.October 2023PositivaFriendliness and helpfulness Wonderful location and view (even if the Zugspitze is somewhere else) Edeka directly in front of the doorNegativa"Microwave/gas oven" = microwave, no oven, and a gas fireplace Toothbrush marks from previous tenants (otherwise super clean!)Overpriced dream vacation in a tree houseWe spent a spontaneous vacation in the tree house there. The tree house really is a dream! Unfortunately it's insanely hot, but in winter it's certainly even more fantastic thanks to the gas stove/fireplace. The condition is really top, and we knew beforehand that it was completely overpriced. (We had... to reschedule spontaneously due to a death, vacation was necessary, the location and connection were great, otherwise we would not have paid this price). However, the special nature of the tree house is not to be questioned. It is also important to emphasize the friendliness of the staff. You get immediate answers, support etc.
There is an Edeka practically right outside the door (shortcut from the campsite). The starting points of many hiking trails are within walking distance and a free bus runs at certain times.Automatiskt översatt. - Sven W.October 2023PositivaThe central location The comfort The facilitiesNegativaThere is absolutely nothing to complain about!Beautiful campsiteThe campsite is wonderfully centrally located. The location directly below the Zugspitze is absolutely fantastic.
In addition, the site is very well maintained, the sanitary facilities are absolutely clean and the staff are super friendly.
The wellness area has 2 saunas and a small fitness area.
We have been here twice as a family and will definitely be back!Automatiskt översatt. - Dennis J.September 2023PositivaLocationNegativaPitches rather small, romantic parking lot, expensiveCamping Resort Zugspitze without Zugspitze viewUnfortunately a bit disappointing for a 5 star site. Pitches rather small. ( we had one with a private bathroom on site )
Bathroom was clean, no trash can, no soap etc. ( 5 stars ) Sanis for guests without private bathroom rather underdimensoniert, clean and functional. Nothing special. Pitches overall... not particularly well maintained (grass, bushes and hedges) no real possibility to walk from place. Bus stop but right on the square. Staff very friendly. The rear pitches in the front row unfortunately have no view of the Zugspitze. Overall not a bad place only we would have imagined more underneath.Automatiskt översatt. - Christoph T.May 2023PositivaBeautiful location. Well-kept pitch. - Diana S.February 2023PositivaGreat viewNegativaRental bathroom unfortunately negative, also not so suitable for dogs5 stars just for the viewWe liked the place very much, sensational view. The ringing of the train didn't bother us. Nor did the gravel pitch, which we knew. I think the site is unsuitable for dog owners. The dog-walking path at the very front of the site was sometimes closed. Then you had to walk down the hill. With small dogs... it is still possible on the site but with large dogs it becomes difficult. There are a few garbage cans missing on the site. You pay a lot for dogs, so something definitely needs to be changed. The rented bathroom was dirty when we arrived. The toilet hadn't seen a rag in a while, nor had the shower. We also noticed that the bathroom was not cleaned for 5 minutes after guests had left. It is not bad that the fittings are old and partly chipped but it has to be clean. There should be more emphasis on cleanliness also the rental bathroom was not cheap and if the vacation already starts with cleaning is very annoying. The reception was very friendly there is nothing to criticize. In front at the info a small café/bistro very cozy furnished. If you drive up to the square there is a restaurant, highly recommended and dogs are also welcome. All in all, we enjoyed our vacation very much. We had a great time.Automatiskt översatt.
- Stepahn G.February 2023PositivaI really enjoyed my stay. A warm welcome on arrival and a very clean site and the separate toilet facilities were very well maintained. Sauna could be used daily and I must say very nice for a campsite. Shopping facilities within 5 minutes and a great restaurant just around the corner. It was our first winter camping and would book this site again directly - I can only recommend it.NegativaWe have one small drawback. Bread roll pick-up should be possible for visitors from 7am, because we have booked ski school and this starts at 9am, if you can only pick it up at 8am everything is a bit tight in terms of time. Otherwise we had nothing to complain about.First winter campingWhat I thought was really great was that the employees dressed up and organized a carnival party.Automatiskt översatt.
- Tina K.February 2023PositivaVery nice locationNegativaNo demarcation to the neighborWomanVery nice location with sufficiently large pitches, little vegetation and (in our case) no boundaries to the neighbors. Spacious, very clean private bathroom. Two supermarkets and a drinks market below the site, within easy walking distance and the "Schmölzer Wirt" restaurant is also highly recommended.... Good bus connections to GAP and the Eibsee, which you can use free of charge with the guest card. We didn't mind the tooting of the train (from 06:00) at all, it's just a short sound and not a constant blast! We can only recommend the place and will be back!Automatiskt översatt.
- Michael B.January 2023PositivaGrainaucard and free use of public transportationWere often very disappointed here now!Unfortunately, there is no supervision after office hours. Every evening/night until around 2 a.m. there is a party on the neighboring plots. Heater outside with bar table. No problem on New Year's Eve, but otherwise it's quiet at night from 10 pm. But nobody cares. Whether we will come here again is questionable!Automatiskt översatt.
- Anja R.November 2022Great location with Zugspitze viewVery nicely located campsite, with a great sauna area. Very friendly staff and clean sanitary facilities. It was a bit of a shame that there was no direct access to the field paths and you always had to go around the outside.Automatiskt översatt.
- Lars V.September 2022PositivaThe outlookNegativaRestless place, gravel desert, no possibility to walk the dog properly, completely overpriced, food is stored outside for everyone to seeOnce and never againI can't understand all the positive reviews. We only stayed at this campsite for one night. Less than an hour after arriving, we wanted to leave again immediately. The site is simply restless, although the whistling of the trains is less disturbing.
Charging €12/night plus €12/person for this gravel... wasteland is quite cheeky. What's more, you have to pay for the sauna with the person fee regardless of whether you use it or not.
The pitches are not even separated from each other by hedges or other privacy screens. Even if it is a campsite, I would like to have some privacy and don't want 50 fellow diners who can look at my plate uninhibitedly from all sides.
With a dog you are completely out of luck on this site. You also have to pay €4/night and have no opportunity to walk your dog properly. There is an area on the campsite where dogs can relieve themselves. However, this area also includes the pub facilities. Even as a dog owner I find this a bit disgusting. To be able to walk your dog properly, you have to walk for ages through the village because you can't access the adjacent meadow. It's also not so easy to get to the forest opposite. Firstly because of construction work on the bridge and the footpath ends at the village exit sign.
What doesn't work at all is the bread roll service. Food is stored in the open and accessible to everyone. The bread rolls were packed in bakery bags and labeled with the seat number AND the name. For me, this is still a no-go. Especially as the rolls were really soggy in the current weather and literally absorbed the early morning mist.
This place will definitely not see us again. Cheeky to charge >€70 for one night for 2 people with a dog and some electricity.
Once and never again Garmisch!Automatiskt översatt. - Vera V.September 2022PositivaDirect view of the Zugspitze.NegativaThe place has been equipped exactly as required for 5 stars. But this is so loveless that you get cold. Poor accessibility of the footpath towards Garmisch due to neighborhood disputes. Signposted dog walking path on the campground is a bad joke to say the least. The private bathroom was sloppily cleaned (walls sprayed with water) black mold in the tile joints and the permanently elastic. Neither a waste garbage can in the bathroom nor a hand wash soap dispenser. How was that with 5 stars? The gardener comes as far as the entrance roundel, nothing happens behind the premium parking space. Not very inviting: a gravel desert without a single flower.Cold loveless gravel desert ! Not worth 5 stars .We arrived at lunchtime and fled again the next morning.
We won't be back.Automatiskt översatt. - Howard H.July 2022PositivaThe location and great viewNegativaVery compacted gravel ground, waste water at the pitch is ok, but not if the water has to go uphill...Great location, but....Beautiful location at the foot of the Zugspitze
The view of the Zugspitze massif is unbeatable.
Everything on the site is clean and tip-top maintained. Showers and toilets are cleaned several times a day.
Only the gravelled pitch is not ideal. You can hardly get a peg into the ground, we only use plate... head screws and even these could hardly be put into the ground. Every pitch has water, waste water and electricity connections, except that unfortunately every second pitch at the top of the Panorama pitches has the problem that the waste water from the caravan has to run uphill to get to the gully... Unfortunately, this is not physically possible, even at 5*.
There is a footpath, but it's only for a short walk with our hairy friends.
On the positive side, we noticed that you really only have to pay for the days you were there, if you leave you don't have to pay for the days. This is hardly common nowadays.
It should also be mentioned that you get a guest card and can use it to travel free of charge by bus and train in the surrounding area, bus stop can be reached from any pitch in 5-10 minutes!
We have already been to the site twice and will be happy to come back again.Automatiskt översatt. - michael m.July 2022PositivaGood location, beautiful view, large pitchesNegativaRest periods were not observed because the barrier was open all night. Comment from the office: From 10 p.m. there is no longer a person in charge on site and they hope that the camping guests will be reasonable. Unfortunately this did not happen and cars kept driving onto the site throughout the night. Great place for dog owners because there don't seem to be any rules. The walkway in front of the campsite is rarely used because the dogs have already done their business beforehand.Beautiful place with a great viewGreat location, beautiful view of the mountains. Sanitary and place clean. The service should be improved.Automatiskt översatt.
- Maria H.June 2022PositivaThe location is unique. I've never seen the chemical toilet being emptied on site before, which I found very practical.NegativaNo direct path to the hiking trails: you always have to take the detour via the road. The equipment in the fitness room is in poor condition.Somewhat disappointedThere were four of us on the site in June: 2 adults in the motorhome, 2 adults in the log cabin.
The location and facilities of the site are very nice, but I expected more for the price. The first shower was so blocked that I was standing in water up to my ankles. The second time I showered I found one... that was ok - luckily it was always free until the end. There was a piece of toilet paper hanging on the side of one toilet. It took 4 days until it was gone! Overall, the sanitary facilities are functional, but not nice.
The bistro is quite nicely done, but still a bit uncomfortable and noisy. We had coffee once and got burgers at the barbecue once. That was very good, but also expensive. The piece of cake was very small.
The fitness room is under the roof and gets very warm. As the windows are all on one side and have to be closed when leaving, the air there was not very pleasant. Some of the equipment is old and broken, but most importantly there are no instructions. There were more broken appliances or parts in a corner under the sloping roof - all very untidy and not very inviting.
I wasn't sure before the vacation whether there was direct access from the pitch to the hiking area behind it. On GoogleMaps it looks like there is a path there. However, this is private and there are signs everywhere saying that it is forbidden to climb over the fence. So you have to walk down the driveway every time and take the path across the road. This is a detour of about 1.5 km (depending on where you want to go). This is not relevant for the rating, but it's good to know in advance.Automatiskt översatt. - Carsten G.April 2022PositivaLocation, location, location Sauna Friendly staff Manageable space sizeNegativaGravel floor without vegetation Not quite favorable The sound of the S-BahnBeautiful location at the foot of the ZugspitzeWe stayed at the campsite during the Easter vacation. We enjoyed a relaxing time here. The view of the Zugspitze massif in particular is magnificent. The sauna is also perfect. Everything is clean and tip-top maintained.
