The campsite is laid out in terraces.NegativaUnfortunately, we had a motorhome pitch directly in front of a large house, so we had no view of the lake. Unfortunately, the pitch cost just as much as the other pitches. The customer service was catastrophic at that moment and the gentleman took the request for a pitch change or price reduction very personally. There was also very little water coming out of the shower.Overall goodAll in all, it was still a successful stay. The location is great and actually the view too. The campsite is located slightly above the village and is laid out in terraces. The entrance is a little steep but easy to drive on.
The campsite facilities are very good and very modern. The sanitary facilities... are very well maintained and adapted to the size of the site.
Although I was there over Whitsun 2021 and the site was well booked, the guests adhered to the applicable protective measures.

The pitches are not very big, but have a nice view of the lake. Unfortunately, the access roads are steep and narrow, but the operator helps you to maneuver. The sanitary facilities are clean... and plentiful. The only problem is that there is often no hot water when washing up at busy times. The small store with café only has the bare essentials. Relatively short but fairly wide pitches on grass, some with paved lanes. Loose trees provide some shade. Very clean and well-maintained sanitary facilities, especially spacious shower cubicles, even for "more... robust" campers. Family shower available. The range of leisure activities in Vitznau and the surrounding area is overwhelming! We opted for a hike across the Vitznau Alps, took the Rigi Railway to Kaltbad, from there an easy hike along beautiful mountain flora to Hinterbergen - Vitznau. (There is an alternative route at Rigi-First: a rocky path with a fantastic view...). Kayaks can be hired at the campsite. These are pulled to the lake on a wheeled cart. There are numerous free landing spots for swimming and barbecuing. For us, 4 hours was enough for an extensive trip along the shore with a swim stop in the Vitznauer bathing bay. You should definitely take the signposted circular route around Vitznau. This leads directly from the campsite along the white signs above the picturesque village center to the western end of the village and along the beautiful hotels and villas on the lakeside road back to the campsite. Along the way you pass romantic streams with lush vegetation and beautiful viewpoints. The spa gardens, cog railroad and steamboat station are absolutely amazing! In Vitznau there are numerous restaurants in every price range, and a grocery store is open 7 days a week. The neighboring villages are also worth a visit, and if it rains, the city of Lucerne offers numerous tourist attractions. At the end of our stay, we were treated to a thunderstorm in Vitznau Bay. The reverberation of thunder and lightning on the imposing rock faces is really not an everyday occurrence...Automatiskt översatt.
