- Viviene W.August 2024Positivathere are better placesNegativaBad-tempered boss, no understanding for early departurenot recommendedThe private sanitary facilities are quite outdated. The operator is very friendly but the owner is very grumpy and bad-tempered.
A bit of friendliness from his wife would do him good.
Three places to wash up are definitely not enough.
We had to leave 4 nights early to accommodate zero. We had to pay for everything including electricityAutomatiskt översatt. - Olaf B.July 2021PositivaRest and relaxationNegativaThe pitches are a bit weird.Very nice place to relaxI live about 30 km from the site and have already visited it several times. The site is close to a wooded area right next to the Barntrup outdoor pool, which you can use free of charge as a camping guest. There is a bread roll service on the site and the snack restaurant is open twice a week. The site... offers peace and relaxation. Hiking, cycling, exploring the sights - this is the ideal starting point. A paradise for campers with dog(s). When you leave the campsite, a forest path starts directly, where you can really "make meters". The sanitary building has always been clean, but the number of toilets at full capacity is probably borderline. What has often been criticized here in other reviews is the "shower card". A little tip on the side, if no water is running, you should take the card out of the reader, otherwise it will continue to run ;-). The only (small) drawback is the slope of the site. There are only a few pitches that are almost at ground level. I can only recommend chocks or lifting bags and underlay material for the supports. All in all, a great site with really nice operators, which I always enjoy visiting.Automatiskt översatt.
- Henning B.September 2020PositivaSmall and very quiet site but still close to town. Quite new wash house. Very friendly owners and staff.NegativaPitches very uneven and with steep slopes. Private sanitary facilities without heating and pitches without water and waste water connections.Small but nice.Beautifully situated site with plenty of peace and quiet. Friendly staff and operators. Bread rolls are available to order. Nice wash house but could be cleaner. For the little ones there is a small playground and nearby others as well as an outdoor pool which is free. On Tuesdays and Thursdays there... is food on site. Pitches are uneven and have a lot of slope. Private sanitary unfortunately without heating. Generally a great place, I would come again.Automatiskt översatt.
- Thomas D.September 2020PositivaTop location, very well maintained, good clean sanitary facilitiesNegativaUnfortunately less suitable for motorhomes, as the meadow is not paved (according to the operator)Very fine and beautiful place, but...A small but nice place. We stayed here for a few days to ride our motorcycles.
The site is very well maintained and tidy.
The only drawback is that it is less suitable for motorhomes.
Although there are parking spaces in front of the site especially for motorhomes, there are only limited spaces on the... actual campsite.
According to the operator, the meadows are currently not suitable for motorhomes as they get soaked very quickly when it rains.
One of the few motorhome pitches is in the shade for most of the day.Automatiskt översatt. - Xhevahire S.September 2019PositivaWe sat on the terrace with the owner and have never laughed as much as we did that evening.NegativaNothing to complain about at allsimply fantasticA small, fine campsite for young and old. There is a lot to do in the surrounding area, something for everyone. Shopping facilities are within walking distance. A barbecue evening on Tuesdays and a chips evening on Thursdays are offered by the campsite operators themselves. There are two great restaurants... in Bartrup that I can only recommend. The operators and even the staff are very friendly and helpful. Everything is very clean and always helpful. I feel welcome and very comfortable hereAutomatiskt översatt.
- Claudia K.August 2019Positiva- It is very quiet on the site - very helpful fellow campersNegativa- the sanitary facilities were unpleasantly dirty - Information boards only in Dutch - No shopping possibleWeekend tripThe location of the campsite is ideal for a weekend. I couldn't imagine staying longer because the dog is frozen in the surrounding area. Ideal for hiking and/or relaxing. Both the management of the campsite and about 90% of the guests are Dutch.Automatiskt översatt.
- Nils L.June 2019PositivaQuiet place with a very nice operator. Beautiful hikes and MTB tours possible directly from the campsite. Free outdoor pool next door.NegativanoneWhitsun vacation with childrenRelaxed and active Whitsun vacation with children. Despite good occupancy, the site was very quiet and pleasant. On the day of departure, the departure time (tent and tent trailer) was handled very generously due to rain.Automatiskt översatt.
- Jürgen K.August 2018Great!Very well-kept, tidy and clean, very friendly operators who put their heart and soul into it, quiet, relaxing, in the countryside, surrounded by international camping enthusiasts.Automatiskt översatt.
- Sebastian H.May 2018PositivaQuietly located in the countryside, with bread roll service and clean facilitiesNegativaWLAN not usable, pitches sloping, (if it bothers you: significantly more Dutch people)Uneven terrain and poor internet connectionThe campsite is very popular with the Dutch and is also run by one of them. All signs are bilingual, Dutch guests are far in the majority. Wi-Fi is available but is hardly usable as the connection is constantly interrupted despite the signal. The pitches are large and slightly sloping, so not everyone can stand as they please.Automatiskt översatt.
- Martin D.August 2017PositivaThe sanitary facilities and the well-kept placeNegativaNoneGreat weekendShort hiking weekend in the Blomberg forest. Once around Schiedersee and back. Lousy weather, but what the heck. The campsite is in immaculate condition. There are cards with 50 units each for the showers. You can easily take 3 showers with that. From what I could see, some pitches have slopes. Good for those who have a mover or four-wheel drive when it rains. You can order bread rolls for the next day. We will be back. Thank youAutomatiskt översatt.
- Rainer S.August 2016Good place for transitWe were here just passing through and so far everything was fine. Sanitary could be a bit cleaner sometimes.Automatiskt översatt.
- Ute W.July 2016PositivaFriendly, helpful, dog-friendly, quiet, clean, relaxing, summer swimming, sanitary facilities, good pitches,Negativaa small snack is missing, I missed a stand for poo bags and a garbage can for the poo bagsA relaxing weekendWe stayed at this top campsite from Friday to Sunday at the beginning of July 2016. We were warmly welcomed and instructed, the sanitary facilities, scullery everything super clean. It was constantly cleaned and cleaned. The facility / pitches very well maintained and you can not complain about the size.... We were there with our son, his children and the other grandparents. Our pitches were right next to each other so that we could stand together as a family. The playground was clean and great. The toilet facilities for children were clean and child-friendly, the grandchildren had fun. Bread roll service was great, a small snack bar would be the icing on the cake on this great campsite. The pitch for motorhomes in front of the barrier was very comfortably furnished and well maintained. We felt very, very comfortable there, we will definitely make another stop there. The family and staff were super friendly and helpful. We can highly recommend the place, dog owners are very welcome, which is important to us! Walks with the dog and cycling were no problem, you could quickly reach the town on foot. Operator + staff always on hand if you had any questions. A very well-kept outdoor pool nearby, which you can use free of charge as a camper. You should know that there are a lot of Dutch people there, but that also worked with the communication. We would like to thank the Seijsener family for the relaxing days with them, it was just too short, we will be back. Our young dog was welcome and there was even a dog shower available.Automatiskt översatt.

- Nicole T.March 2016PositivaGood for Dutch peopleNegativaNot helpfulNo longer for usNo help from Platzward when getting stuck. Lawn must not be driven on by car, how should you move the Wowa on a wet lawn. Ignored by everyone. Not a small highlight for children at Easter. When asked: There were too few children on site. Information boards only in Dutch. No soap or towels in the children's bathroom.Automatiskt översatt.
- Werner K.September 2015PositivaLarge pitches, clean sanitary facilities and friendly staff. Close to the town, approx. 8-10 min walk. Excursion destinations in the immediate vicinity.Negativa??????Very quiet and beautifully situated placeWe spent our short vacation there from 10.9. to 20.9.2015. From there you have many opportunities for hiking and cycling. destinations are Hamel, Bad Pyrmont, Lemgo Blomberg, Detmold and so on. Sanitary is clean. Care is good. The place is to be recommended.Automatiskt översatt.
- Daniel B.July 2015PositivaTypical sights of the Teutoburg Forest are within easy reach.NegativaThe sanitary building took some getting used to for us. Everything was only in Dutch. You think you're in HollandWe (in our mid-20s) stayed here for two nights. Even when booking, we noticed that everything was very "Dutch". There are definitely 90% neighbors on the site, which we personally didn't mind at all. On the contrary, we found it rather funny, we drive 180km east and you think you've driven 180km west.... However, it is a bit strange to read EVERYTHING here only in Dutch (signs, entertainment program, notices, etc.). The site manager is also Dutch and very friendly and accommodating. Prices are very good. A Kaiser roll in the morning costs 35ct. Admission to the neighboring outdoor pool is included in the price of the pitch. Unfortunately this does not apply to the local showers. You get a card at the beginning with which you can open the barrier, but you also have to use the showers. We had 50 units booked for showers at the beginning. I don't know if that's the case for everyone. In any case, half of these 50 units were used up after two people showered on the first morning. So for two nights it's just about right, but you keep looking at the display and hoping that everything will be fine. In my opinion, this is saving money at the wrong end and you only find these "paid showers" on old sites. I also find 3 toilets for the entire pitch (men's toilet) a bit cramped. There can be a queue here in the morning after breakfast - and what man likes to poo in a hurry in the morning? We think the sanitary building takes a bit of getting used to, but it's okay. However, I wouldn't want to spend two weeks here. On arrival, the groundsman told us that we should uncouple the camper van on the way and then push it onto the pitch. Hmm... It wasn't possible to push 1400 kg uphill on a fairly steep pitch without a mover, so we maneuvered by car. No one was bothered either. The children's entertainment seems to be quite good here, even though we were here without children. You can definitely hear that the little ones are well entertained. So if you want complete peace and quiet - without the occasional child - you should probably come outside of the vacations. We found the place really good and give it 4 stars.Automatiskt översatt.
- Jürgen D.August 2014Positivagreat location. New sanitary facilitiesShort vacationThe site is beautifully situated and very quiet. The campsite manager was unfortunately not so friendly. The rental bathroom was not cleaned and should be renovated. We would have liked to stay another 3 hours to see the countryside (for a fee of course) but this was not possible, we had to leave on time, which I thought was a shame (the place was very empty by the way).Automatiskt översatt.
- Ilona u.May 2013Very well-kept and quiet campsite. The number of sanitary facilities is not very high but when we were there it was enough and they were always clean. Otherwise the site is very clean and tidy. What is unusual is that everything is explained and described in Dutch, even the bill is in Dutch.Automatiskt översatt.
- Der D.April 2013The campsite was 95% occupied by campers from the Netherlands. The sanitary building was mostly clean but not big enough. Waiting for a shower is not so bad, but waiting for a toilet in the morning in the early season is not at all good. Otherwise, the site is very quiet and suitable for hikers and cyclists.... The town center can be reached in about 5-10 minutes. There are shops and 2-3 restaurants. We tried the restaurant "Zum Raaben". There are many schnitzel dishes there, from normal to XXL portions. For thermal bath lovers there are some thermal baths in the area (e.g. Bad Pyrmont approx. 12 km, or Bad Oyenhausen the Bali Therme approx. 50 km).Automatiskt översatt.
- Antje & Dirk D.March 2013Moin Moin We were over Easter on the place we liked it very well, the operators are friendly, the place is clean and the sanitary facilities are great. The place is visited by many Dutch people, which is certainly also due to the fact that the owner is Dutch and there is advertising. It is striking that... all the signs are in NL language. (Shouldn't we "Germans" actually go on vacation there??) We think it's a great place that we will gladly visit again. See you soon Antje & Dirk from Schleswig - HolsteinAutomatiskt översatt.
