- Ch. K.August 2024PositivaQuiet place with direct access to the sea, clean sanitary facilities, great walks with dogs possibleNegativaGarbage times, toilet paper dispensers (your own toilet paper is worth its weight in gold 😉), no more snacks on siteGladly againA cozy and quiet campsite with direct access to the beach - also very well possible with a dog.
The garbage times were a bit unfavorable, but quite understandable why they had to be introduced.
Overall, we liked the campsite very much! We felt very comfortable here and will definitely be back.Automatiskt översatt. - Bruno B.May 2023Positiva-close to the sea -large pitches -nice, helpful owners -great, flexible snack bar -price performanceNegativa-few water connections on the pitches -penetrating smell in the shower (my impression) -shower timer does not stopBeautiful locationVery nice location with direct access to the sea. Wonderful for walks with the dogs. Sufficient sanitary facilities available. The shower room had a pungent odor and not enough ventilation. 50 cents 2 minute showers would be okay if the time was stopped when you interrupted!
Very nice people. Also the snack bar Lars Landau!Automatiskt översatt. - Heike S.April 2023PositivaThe direct location on the beach was great.NegativaI have not discovered any disadvantages.Any time again! The site impresses with its direct location on the water. There are great opportunities to walk your dog and the staff are all very friendly. The pitches are nice and large and the proximity to Eckernförde and Kappeln offers opportunities for shopping.Automatiskt översatt.
- Silke und Oliver M.July 2021PositivaThere are always places available for last-minute guests. A delicious fish trolley comes once a week.NegativaNo EC card payment possible, and that in Corona times. The camping store offers EC card payment. Partly very muddy paths. Playground equipment defective, broken to very broken.Insider tip? BUT, only if you are looking for a place. The campsite, the area we were in, was a paved meadow. The access road was a muddy path with ruts.
We were initially assigned the wrong pitch. So there was a lot of maneuvering on the path. After 3 days, the holes were then filled with soil without compacting. Consequently, mud again quickly.
Water connection... not for each pitch but one connection for several campers. Toilet paper has to be collected from reception, we were given three rolls on arrival.
Playground equipment partly rusty, often overgrown with nettles. The camping store resembles a run-down pub with a sales counter. The goods are very overpriced. (1 l Coke for €2.60). Bread roll service is questionable and from around 9.00 a.m. the selection is rather poor. We found hair in the bread rolls. Advantage in the store, contrary to the campsite, you can pay by EC card.
The advertised good swimming was not possible because
1. the waste water from the surrounding fields on the "beach" is discharged into the Baltic Sea, this is even documented by the water analysis, which is displayed at reception.
2. the beach is very stony.
The boss is friendly, contrary to the boss. But it could be much better.
Many permanent campers, some of them very fussy.Automatiskt översatt. - Monika T.April 2021PositivaLocation, peace and quietNegativaBuilding not very nice. The cleaning staff had very loud music on while cleaning the sanitary building. We had probably caught the operators on the wrong foot, but they took us in after all. The booking process is a bit opaque, be sure to wait for explicit confirmation.Beautiful location, moderate facilitiesThe location is very quiet directly on the cliffs in a cul-de-sac. Access to the (very stony) beach and unpaved footpath/cycle path directly at the site. Great view of the Eckernförde Bay.
The buildings, the small store and snack bar, the sanitary facilities are not very nice, but at least everything is there.Automatiskt översatt. - Karlheinz S.July 2019PositivaThose who like it really quiet are in good hands hereNegativaLighting of paths / waste disposal only at fixed timesOur impressionImpression of CP Hökholz: Reception was very friendly and personable. Very quiet location of the CP directly on the Baltic Sea. Well, I personally wouldn't see it as an "insider tip", but the price for a good 2 weeks with caravan and tent (4 people, additional tent) of around 435 euros should not be... disregarded, as others cost 200 euros more for the time. Nevertheless, one point of criticism is that an additional tent pitched on the plot (for the children) costs the full fee than if you come by bike with a tent, but then you don't have 50 square meters more space, which is really a lot, so a reasonable price for the camper would certainly be more acceptable and I think that everyone could be satisfied. The location of the campsite is almost always about 15-20 km away from the larger towns on all sides, so you almost always have to drive by car, but the campsite can't help it. This should therefore always be taken into account. The entrance to the CP is very narrow (one lane) but ok, the barrier sensors where you hold the key to open the barrier are in my opinion too deep in the hedge because here the vehicle almost touches the hedge and could possibly leave unsightly "scratches" (stripes) on the vehicle. This could be cut open by the CP operator so that the sensors are easier to reach and see. (see pictures) The CP is very permanent camper based, this is quickly noticeable by constant lawn mowing, but this does not actually make a negative impression. The small "store", if we can call it a "store" at all, looks more or less like a kiosk. In the small "store" you get the impression that it is damp. I would like to distance myself from Pier One (more of a pub atmosphere). The sanitary facilities are shower/washroom/toilet containers, but they are perfectly fine and clean, they are cleaned once a day, cleaning also seems to be with chlorine, as shortly after cleaning there is a considerable smell of chlorine, although the time and frequency in the high season seems too short to me (cleaning almost always takes 1 hour, you can then switch to the other building). Shower time; is OK in and of itself (50 cents / 4 minutes) yes you have to hurry a little when showering, it would be nicer if you could interrupt the time of the hot water flow to soap / shampoo etc. and then continue showering. Unfortunately, we noticed that individual "toilet leaves" kept finding their way home on the paths and were not sunk in the toilet. The lighting on the paths could be better, especially in the rear areas of the campsite where it is really dark if some campers didn't have small solar lamps, it would be difficult to find the paths at night, so a flashlight should be on board. The nudist area indicated on Camping.info is absolutely undefined. If you want to shed your clothes and swim naked here, you don't really know where the area is. There should be a sign or something similar pointing to this area so that everyone knows which area they are in if someone is lying naked on the beach (not everyone cares if there are naked people lying there). Nevertheless, I was told that the area should be near the dog beach, but it is very stony (natural, so you have to look for a corner to lie down there, always hoping of course not to lie directly in a "landmine") AND "HELLO" dog owners here it should be like at home! Even if there is a "dog beach", YOU can also put the legacy of your four-legged friend in the dog waste bags set up for this purpose, but also think about others, especially the children who play, run and splash around there. BUT despite the impressions described here, as always everyone has to make up their own mind. The place itself is very beautiful and above all not too "overpopulated". As already described, the beach is "natural", i.e. very stony with a few sandy spots here and there where you can sunbathe.Automatiskt översatt.
- Heidi W.June 2018PositivaClean sanitary facilities. Very quiet atmosphere.NegativaToo outdated.Camping for minimalistsThe campsite looks outdated. Especially some permanent campers do not attach much importance to maintenance. (my impression). The bistro had a bit of a pub feel to it. The operator was very nice and the food tasted good. The sanitary facilities are very well maintained. The beach is very stony. But there are also small sandy bays. I wouldn't necessarily go to this campsite again, it was too old-fashioned for me.Automatiskt översatt.
- Kristin E.May 2018PositivaClose to the beach, nice staff, dog-friendly, child-friendlyNegativaDingy, getting on in years, actually a nice playground but also very old (can be easily repaired with a few simple steps)Only for the weekendThe staff were very friendly, unfortunately the place is very untidy and getting on in years. What would look friendlier with a few simple steps (verdigris everywhere, not mowed, paint peeling off). The sanitary facilities were very unkempt, otherwise our children 6 years, 9 years go to the wash house... alone, it was too dirty for us :-( !!! The food in the small bistro was ok and the staff very friendly but even there it was quite rustic. There was smoking everywhere and our children didn't want to buy any snacks on their own. We wouldn't go to the campsite again if we didn't have to. The children loved it and our dog was also very happy with the long beach.Automatiskt översatt.
- Kl. S.September 2017Positiva..direct access to the beachNegativa..very rain-prone terrain...sorry, we didn't like it that muchFirst of all, I am always amazed at how some reviewers euphorically rate a 3* place with five stars. How do they want to rate a well-run 5-star site appropriately? The campsite has a lot to offer but not everything is flawless: the reception was friendly and communicative, but you are greeted with a... roll of toilet paper in your hand ... because there is none in the toilet. The pitches for short breaks are free to choose (no plots) on a very muddy meadow area. The paths of the CP are also affected by muddy areas. The sanitary building we used always made a clean, new but simple impression. At night you really need a flashlight to go to the toilet so that you don't get caught in a mud puddle with your slippers... there is no significant path lighting. The self-service store was big enough but the shelves were about 95% empty! In the morning (shortly after 8) when you pick up the pre-ordered bread rolls, it can already be that the first people with a bottle of beer in their hands cavort in front of the store. The surrounding area also invites you to go hiking, but near the campsite the narrow hiking trails are densely packed with dog excrement ... probably also due to the dog-friendliness of the campsite. On the subject of recreation and peace and quiet, it has to be said that the operator made good use of the Saturday to constantly make various maneuvering and transport trips with his tractors. In the end you can say it is not expensive here, the price matches the offer. But this site is not worth a 2.5 hour drive to me and what I would have saved on the site fee I had to pay on the way back for cleaning the outside of the caravan because the road at the campsite was covered in dirt from the agricultural tractor when I left.Automatiskt översatt.

- Nina L.July 2017Positiva- Sanitary facilities - Baby changing room with bathtub - Direct connection to the beach - Bread roll service - Spacious pitchesNegativa- Lunch break (no leaving the campsite by car between 13:00h and 15:00h.) - Meadow is under water during heavy rainWell-kept campsite directly on the Baltic SeaQuite a nice campsite with a direct connection to the Baltic Sea beach. The sanitary facilities are top. They are cleaned daily, there is a baby changing room with bathtub for the little ones and comfortable, inexpensive showers (0,50,-), everything is well heated. The waste disposal opening times are... a little unusual (only once a day, for half an hour), but the idea behind this (sensible waste separation) is understandable. Washing/drying laundry is best planned a day in advance, as you have to sign up on lists for the use of the machines to reserve them for yourself. There is a lunch break between 13:00 and 15:00, so you can no longer drive in or out with your vehicle (not even with the chip you are given). This should also be noted on arrival, as it is not stated in the confirmation e-mail. The pitches for vacationers are spacious, with direct electricity and water supply. Unfortunately, a large part of the meadow is under water when it rains. Another advantage is the small kiosk with bread roll service, the small bistro for the small appetite and the children's playground. Also ideal for a vacation with your dog!Automatiskt översatt.
- Roberto F.July 2017PositivaPeace and quiet, friendly operators, close to the waterNegativaNo real disadvantage, we were surprised by the opening hours of the garbage station...Cheap and good...At the end of our Scandinavian tour, we stopped here for 2 nights to relax again. The reception was Nordic friendly and we paid €31 straight away for the overnight stay + motorhome pitch including electricity. Our pitch was quiet, about 300m from the water, directly on a meadow. Electricity and water... within easy reach of our camper. There was a small kiosk on the site with relatively normal prices and a snack bar with good offers that are cheap and good. The sanitary facilities were clean and well maintained. Showers cost 50 cents for 4 minutes for men and 5 for women. Unfortunately we didn't know that you have to bring your own toilet paper, well, it only happens once ;). The place is a bit off the beaten track, so if you want to experience something, you have to drive. The beach below is stony with a few stretches of sand. All in all, a nice, quiet and very reasonably priced campsite. We liked it except for a few little things.Automatiskt översatt.
- Heino H.July 2017Positivaclean, well-kept, etc........NegativanoneHigh end campsiteWe spent a long weekend on the site. Super nice operators, great to chat with (already noticed on the phone). Great, extremely well-kept site, beautiful pitches - really good value in comparison. Class A sanitary facilities, modern and very clean! A great kiosk, a super snack bar with great freshly prepared... food, extremely tasty - plus freshly tapped beer at the perfect temperature, nice permanent campers, all friendly and communicative - really as advertised: a real insider tip!Automatiskt översatt.
- Brigitte K.June 2017PositivaFriendly and relaxed atmosphere on the pitch. Beautiful location surrounded by nature.NegativaHaven't found any!Comfortable vacation in a nice atmosphereWe spent a super cozy week at the end of June at CP Hökholz with our 2 dogs. What struck us very positively was the friendly atmosphere on this site. We also had immediate contact with the permanent campers. Mrs. Matzen tried to fulfill our wishes regarding the pitch from the very first phone call. The... site itself has a uniquely quiet location with wonderful steep banks and proximity to the beach. We felt very comfortable and will definitely be back.Automatiskt översatt.
- Jordan b.June 2017PositivaQuiet, nice ownersNegativaTrolleys placed too close together, sanitary facilities (cleaning once a day is insufficient when the pitch is full)Nice operator, otherwise okThe operators are quite nice. The sanitary facilities are cleaned once a day, which in our opinion is not enough when booking. Toilet paper must be brought by yourself, showered with 50 cent pieces.shopping possibility not as promised.no cold cuts, no grilled meat or grilled sausage, no salads ect.the... promised bistro is a small snack bar that does not really invite you to sit down there. The campsite itself is fine, but some permanent campers should pay attention to their place (sometimes very unkempt). beautiful view from the cliffs. Unfortunately, some cars were instructed at a maximum distance of one meter from each other by the place owner, which bothered us.Automatiskt översatt.
- Michael R.July 2016PositivaFriendliness, price/performance, natureRelaxation directly on the Baltic Sea beachMy insider tip, great landscape, pure nature, no frills, we relaxed, hiked, cycled and swam here. The price/performance ratio is excellent. Places of interest in the surrounding area: Eckernförde, Kiel, Kappeln, SchleswigAutomatiskt översatt.

- Björn D.August 2015Positiva-close to the sea -very clean sanitary facilities -friendly receptionNegativa-Playground somewhat overgrown (stinging nettles)quite o.k.We were there for one night with the caravan in August. OK for one night, but it wouldn't be for us for longer. Very busy with permanent campers.Automatiskt översatt.
- Thomas S.July 2015PositivaPrice-performance ratio is TOP!!! Quiet place, clean sanitary facilities, very nice location, clean sea water, great for cycling and hiking toursNegativaa little louder on weekends due to permanent campers - nevertheless very quiet during the weekSimply super!!!In short, the campsite is simply superb. The site is ideal for anyone looking for rest and relaxation. It is very quiet. The owner couple and their staff are very friendly and helpful. You can come at any time with requests and information and will be served in a friendly manner. The sanitary buildings... are very clean and well maintained. The pitches are spacious and you have no problems getting to them. They are flat and grassy. The children's playground is spacious and has lots of equipment. Great for children. There is also a football pitch. The beach is a natural beach, with stones of different sizes, but there is always a place where there is sand on the shore and in the water. So nothing stands in the way of bathing fun. This place is highly recommended.Automatiskt översatt.
- Detlef B.August 2013A beautifully situated, quiet site with a good price-performance ratio. The two sanitary buildings were always clean and the site itself is well maintained. The pitches are a bit small, but this only bothers you when the campsite is very full. There is a small store with a snack bar. If you want to spend a quiet vacation, you're in good hands here. We certainly felt at home.Automatiskt översatt.
