We didn't want a fancy glamping 5* site, but rather peace, nature and a well-kept site where we could gain our first experience.
And that's exactly what you get with Olaf and Katja! We received a very friendly... welcome and were shown to our pitch. Olaf even showed us how to maneuver and connected us directly to the electricity. There is no fresh water or waste water at the pitch, so don't forget your jerry can and waste water cab ;-)
The site is right next to the forest, so you can go for long walks with or without your dog. Dogs are welcome on the site! Mountain bike enthusiasts are also well catered for.
The site is located directly on a country road. In the fall it was quiet, especially on Sundays, but during the week there are some trucks or tractors on the road - but everything is still very bearable and not disturbing.
The sanitary facilities are exemplary clean and available in sufficient numbers despite the Corona measures. It was a bit chilly in the morning and the motion detector in the shower turned the light off a bit too early for my taste, but that's complaining on a high level.
You have to order the bread rolls the day before. They come from the bakery in the neighboring village and are delicious and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, you can only pick them up from the kiosk from 8.30 a.m. - that was a bit late for us, as we are the ones who wake up the "early bird" in the morning ;-)
We took advantage of the Fort Fun special as we had a 13-year-old teenager in tow. The theme park is only about 8 km away. You save about 1/3 on the ticket price and don't have to queue at the ticket office, but can go straight through to the entrance.
Internet access via Wi-Fi is available, but relatively slow, especially in the evening. Mobile internet via LTE (Telekom) works without any problems.

The reviews were also decisive. The expectations were absolutely fulfilled: A quiet location in a typical Sauerland valley with access to a stream. The road in the... immediate vicinity of the site was audible but not unpleasant. Although there are not that many pitches, these were at the limit for a larger caravan, whereby the caravan orientation is partly predetermined. The overall cleanliness was very good, the standard sanitary facilities were always clean despite high occupancy. There was also a playground, which is ok for younger children, but for the older children there was free Wi-Fi with sufficient speed and a very good signal on the tourist pitches. If you expect a lot of hustle and bustle on a campsite, you will be disappointed here, but the place can be the starting point for other activities (visitor mine, swimming pools, etc.). The site is certainly ideal for hiking and mountain biking, especially for those who like the Sauerland. The friendliness of the operators should certainly be emphasized, as well as that of the permanent campers in the vicinity of the tourist pitches. There are discounts for visiting the leisure park. The surroundings are super beautiful and there's lots to discover. The price-performance ratio here is really great. The majority of the site is for permanent... campers and the average age felt more like 50 than 30, but we felt completely at ease. The hike to the waterfall was very nice (you have to leave the path briefly to see the waterfall properly, but then you can stand directly underneath it). The site is located in a quiet side valley away from busy roads. At first you are a little scared by the many permanent campers, but you are soon pleasantly surprised by their friendliness and relaxed attitude. The site managers are also very nice,... friendly and helpful. In the morning there are delicious bread rolls from the local bakery. You can set off on hikes directly from the campsite or relax with a view of the mountains. The sanitary facilities are a little older, but in top condition, with a sufficient number of shelves and hooks and were always cleaned very well. If there was any reason for complaint, it was due to the behavior of the other campers, who, as we have often experienced, behaved accordingly. Overall, the site can be recommended, even if it is not a high-class site with top facilities. Overall, the price/performance ratio is good and you can have a great rest.
