- Florian G.maj 2023PositivaVery quiet location in beautiful nature, site with large trees, beautiful torrent, beautiful hiking and walking tours directly from the site, very friendly, helpful and experienced operators, very clean, good showers (free of charge), friendly atmosphere among the guests and permanent campersNegativaFar away from culture and urban activities, Wi-Fi only at reception, but free of charge (and slow according to the area, hardly any GSM reception), rather small pitches, no view, flushing water for a fee, some long (but beautiful) paths, narrow driving and maneuvering, rather poorly lit (insect-friendly)Quiet base station for excursionsIf you are looking for peace and relaxation, like hiking or cycling and want to enjoy the Allgäu nature and landscape, this is the place for you. Due to the seclusion and slow to no internet/mobile phone connection, you can find yourself here and really relax.
Beautiful routes can be reached directly... from the house. If you need more, you can reach everything in a short time - from 2000-meter climbing peaks, gorges and waterfalls to thermal baths, summer toboggan runs, cable cars and restaurants.
Depending on the altitude, you can experience and enjoy the whole spectrum of the respective season.
The very friendly hosts are interested, knowledgeable and very competent and pragmatic - and always have interesting stories to tell.
The site is close to nature, the technical facilities are simple and somewhat cramped but perfectly adequate and well maintained.
There is little in the way of a trendy program for children and young people, which could lead to civilization nagging. However, those who get along with themselves and nature will find everything they need and can relax and let their spirit breathe freely.Automatiskt översatt. - Andreas W.juli 2018PositivaFriendliness, cleanliness.Negativa---Stopover in the AllgäuOn our way home from Lake Kaltern and the Lamar lakes, we chose the Wiederhofen campsite for our stopover. We phoned to find out whether we could come at short notice, which the operator kindly agreed to. The site is situated in complete tranquillity on a mountain meadow and is actually intended more... for permanent campers. Nevertheless, tourist campers are welcome and the permanent campers are very friendly. The reception is also a small, cozy restaurant where you can get small meals. Everything was very tasty! At dinner, it was very easy to get into conversation with the host and campsite operator and his other guests. You quickly feel at home here. The sanitary facilities are certainly a bit outdated, but everything was very clean and tidy. There is no reason for criticism. The peace and quiet on the pitch is very pleasant. It is so quiet that you could hear the bells of cows that you couldn't see for miles around. You can certainly go on very good hikes from the campsite, which we unfortunately couldn't do as we didn't have enough time. Instead, we treated ourselves to a breakfast in the morning, which was lovingly prepared for us by the boss himself. The visit to the campsite was a successful end to our vacation.Automatiskt översatt.
- Povilas I.augusti 2017Nice place at the elevation of 900 metersNice camping at the elevation of over 900 meters. It's a small place and the biggest part is taken by long time campers, but still there are some places for newcomers. We spent two nights here and we had a great time. Just beware of the night guest of the camping - the fox - just don't leave anything outside the tent :) And the owner of the place is great and very nice! If you need something - just ask him!
- Carsten W.augusti 2016PositivaSmall, familiar, quiet, cleanNegativaThe showers (it didn't bother me, but should be mentioned)Relaxing weekendWe were at the Missener Kirbe and stayed at the campsite from Friday to Sunday. The campsite is quite small and has about 8 tourist pitches. The other 60 or so pitches are all permanent campers. It's very informal here. The owner is really nice and helpful. The permanent campers we got to know are also... very nice. The owner also runs a restaurant where you can eat and drink. Bread rolls can be ordered on site. The sanitary facilities are no longer the latest and the shower where the water from 3 showers runs together (continuous steel tub) is no longer up to date. However, everything is very clean. The site is quite high up on the mountain and borders directly on meadows in summer, where you can hear the bells/bells of the cows. In winter there is a drag lift right on site. We have already booked again for next year. This place is ideal for relaxing and hiking.Automatiskt översatt.
- Ke R.januari 2015Very quietly located CP to relaxAre repeat offenders. This campsite is ideal for those seeking relaxation in both summer and winter. No hustle and bustle, no noise if you take out the cowbells in summer ;-) Very helpful host couple. The sanitary facilities are a bit outdated, but functional and always very clean. Therefore thumbs up.Automatiskt översatt.
- Martin N.augusti 2013The site is well signposted from the village and is approached via a winding road through the mountain village of Wiederhofen. The signposting in Wiederhofen is a little outdated. Therefore, take the first left in the village - towards the ski lift. The reception by the manager was extremely friendly.... We were instructed immediately. To be on the safe side, I had called in the morning, but this was not necessary. We were allowed to choose our own pitch. The site itself is in a high valley with only a narrow road leading to it. It is correspondingly quiet. No roaring engines, no animation, no noise - just the way the roof butterfly likes it best. The paltz itself is very natural with beautiful trees, but that doesn't mean that everything is in the sack. The paths are largely gravel paths, with the exception of one path which is paved with concrete slabs. The site is mainly populated by permanent campers, but not many of them were "at home". There are about 25 pitches available for tourists. The sanitary facilities are older. Rather rustic but still very clean. You shouldn't be bothered by the fact that there are only curtains on the showers and no lockable doors. But the showers are included in the price. Hot water for washing up costs 50ct. A communal barbecue area is available for barbecues. There is a small restaurant on site (Die Mühlbachstube), which is closed on Mondays. The owner of the campsite cooks there herself and the food is delicious. The food is really worth trying and reasonably priced. (Neck steak with chips and salad 7.50, goulash soup with bread 3.60, large sausage salad 5.60). There are no shopping facilities, which would not be worthwhile for this small place. There is nothing but Allgäu countryside around the square. And lots of it. In winter, the valley station of a ski lift is right next to the campsite. Outside of winter, the campsite is a great base for hikes. Nearby is Immenstadt with the Alpsee lake and the entertainment facilities there. The higher and lower hiking regions of the Allgäu Alps are also not far away. The price of the campsite is very reasonable, especially by Allgäu standards. We paid €40.50 for two nights with all the trimmings. And that was in the high season!Automatiskt översatt.
- Nicole K.september 2011Wonderfully quiet little site surrounded only by pastures, right next to the ski lift. Very friendly and helpful owners. Small, rustic and cozy restaurant where you can eat at very reasonable prices. The sanitary facilities are getting on in years but always clean. We would love to come back!Automatiskt översatt.
