- Sandra Š.August 2022PositivaNice camp, not modern and the toilets need renovation but they are very clean. Very quite during the night so you can get a good sleep. A lot of shadow and nice spaces for motor homes or tents or trailers.NegativaNobody speaks English and I think that because of that they find themselves in an accoured position and the give the impression of not being nice but they are not so badSlovenians on hollidayIt is a great camp and we reccomend to stay here. It is a five minute walk from the bus station that brings you to the center of Berlin.
- Michaela L.May 2022PositivaLocation of the campsiteNegativaDespite booking in advance, we were allocated an extremely poorly we were allocated an extremely poorly located pitch on the edge right next to the sinks at the sanitary block, although more than half of the pitches in the better middle area were free and remained free throughout our stay. It is incomprehensible that our request for a different pitch was not granted and that we were treated in an extremely unfriendly manner. If we had not already paid, we would have left immediately. The reception was not staffed as described, we waited for more than half an hour on arrival, and you can't get through on the telephone number given. The groundsman blocked the water point with his vehicle and then complained that you had to stand halfway along the path when filling up with water😂 Too bad, actually a nice place from the location, but sound and handling indescribable ... Certainly never again!!!Customer unfriendlyThe stay was not very relaxing due to the arrogant and unfriendly tone and the bad parking space right next to the (loud) dishwashing area (noise from 6.30 am).Automatiskt översatt.
- Jasmin D.August 2021Positiva- reasonable price - large pitch - nice lady at the reception - 600m to the bus stop - large selection of bread rolls at fair prices - idyllic location near the lake surrounded by treesNegativa- Playground very small and not inviting - Toilet facilities (toilets very clean but getting on in years) - Shower facilities (very outdated, partly moldy)Things are betterto Berlin Mitte by bus approx. 1 hour 15 minutes (didn't bother us)
With the BVG app you can easily check stops and timetables and book tickets.
Due to the many permanent campers, there is probably not enough money to renovate the showersAutomatiskt översatt. - Marco W.July 2021PositivaGood opportunities for cycling, lakes nearby, friendly staff. Restaurant with simple, inexpensive meals.NegativaDirty, very old sanitary facilities. Power cuts frequently.OkayYou have to allow about 90 minutes to the center. Otherwise the place is beautifully situated, directly on the Mauerradweg, a swimming lake is within walking distance.
The sanitary facilities are a disaster and very outdated. They also need to be cleaned more often.
But the pitch is quite cheap, 15 nights with caravan, 2 adults and 1 child for 545€. Electricity included.Automatiskt översatt. - Kay A.July 2021PositivaIncredibly quiet campsite on the outskirts of Berlin. Clean social areas and also on the grounds. Friendly staff. Wifi on site - TV via the network!NegativaIt rained in parts, we didn't need that on the day :-) .Short vacation in KladowWithout Corona we would have been at the Rockharzfestival in Ballenstett. We quickly looked for a replacement.
We found the small campsite in Klatow. Surrounded by the Havel and lakes.
Good cycle paths in the surrounding area. But the direct connecting roads to the campsite are simply hell for motorists,... cyclists and pedestrians.
Very narrow, with unnecessary obstacles from the municipality to prevent parking.
The campsite has a license plate recognition system at the entrance barrier, which we didn't realize at first, we come from the countryside;-)Automatiskt översatt. - Vaupel O.August 2019PositivaPeace and quiet, close to Berlin and PotsdamNegativaSanitary building clean but getting on in yearsTotal tranquillity and yet close to the cityIdeal starting point for sightseeing tours in Berlin and Potsdam. It is amazing how quietly you can camp between the big cities, in the middle of nature, directly on the Mauerrundweg. - Jürgen und Michi H.June 2019PositivaVery quietNegativaNot really child-friendly, not really dog-friendly either, see again in the text why. Toilets urgently need a makeoverQuiet campsiteVery quiet campsite, perhaps already too quiet, people quickly become sensitive when the neighbor crackles with the bag. Sons is the location of the place very nice. The bad thing is that the plots are not properly separated (with a small fence or similar). Just as bad or rather bad is the reception... in the reception of a certain blonde lady, with shoulder-length hair. With this lady it can quickly happen that you are received in a tone that makes you want to turn around and leave immediately. I've never experienced anything like it in my life, and I've spoken to other people on the square about it, and this particular lady is known for having such a tone. It is said that this person has often made people not want to come back a second time. Why can this lady behave like this? I think this kind of behavior is below par. But apparently guests are not welcome there. The rest of the staff are all super nice and try very hard, just not this one lady. We won't be coming back for this reason either. There are plenty of campsites that almost wave happily to guests when they arrive. The campsite could also purchase vending machines where you can empty the toilet cassettes. The campsite is also described as dog-friendly, but we didn't find a dog toilet or washing facilities for dogs. It is said to be child-friendly, but children are not allowed to play ball. So it's almost like sit down and stay quiet. And the so-called playground is also very poor. The toilets are also in real need of an overhaul. They look very old-fashioned, and there aren't even any clumsy partitions at the washbasins. As I said, you could have put up with or accepted almost anything, as you sometimes leave the place, but this blonde lady from reception made us not want to come back, just as after talking to other guests, they don't want to come back either. There are people who want to work with love and heart, but this lady apparently does not, and can probably do as she pleases there. Take care, when this lady is no longer there, we might like to come back again.Automatiskt översatt.
- Daniela K.June 2019Positivaquiet, good transport links to Berlin, clean, friendlyTop campsitegreat place, were there with tent, staff helpful and friendly, great connection to Berlin (about 6min to the bus stop and about 1 hour to Alex) - Berlin Welcome Card is recommended for those who are there for a week and very good for families, small kiosk well equipped, electricity also at tent pitches,... very quiet, nice permanent campers, to the bathing area you can walk about 6min by car or cycle....Sanitary facilities are getting old - but fulfill their purpose and are cleanAutomatiskt översatt.
- Klaus F.August 2018PositivaVery nice forest location with very good infrastructure nearby. Very friendly atmosphere - typical DCC place, I have been a member for over 35 yearsNegativaSomewhat outdated sanitary facilities and playground.Place with a typical camper atmosphereWe've been here twice now. Very nice staff. Special athmospheres in the forest and lake. Still close to the cities of Berlin and Potsdam. The sanitary facilities are outdated but clean. The playground could be renovated. But overall, very nice place. We hope that the permanent pitch we have chosen will work out at the beginning of next year!Automatiskt översatt.
- Anders J.July 2018PositivaLocation near Berlin Price / performance okNegativaService building in need of an overhaulOkay stop at BerlinThe campsite is centrally located in relation to Berlin and with good excursion opportunities to the city at a reasonable price. The service building is of an older date and yes it could probably be cleaned better but it does not compensate for the wear and tear of 10 years :-) We stayed there for a... few days with nice peace on the site and reasonable distance to shopping and a beach. Good opportunities for a bike ride around the lakes and into Berlin.Automatiskt översatt.
- Gabi i.June 2018DisappointedWe stayed there for 3 nights. The reception was very nice. There were lots of tall pines and birches all around the site. Satellite reception was not possible at all on our pitch. The crowning glory was the sanitary building. It is very old and neglected. Although a cleaner cleaned the rooms regularly,... it didn't seem that clean. The corners were already very neglected. A small part of the showers had been renewed. The locks on the doors of the toilets and showers were partially defective or very difficult to close. The only thing that worked flawlessly was the WLAN. Conclusion: we will not be back.Automatiskt översatt.
- Nicole P.May 2018PositivaClean, friendly, good firm grass pitches, sunny to semi-shady, close to the city center and easily accessible by public transport.NegativaNoneQuiet place near the cityThis was our 2nd time here and certainly not our last! A nice, clean site, very friendly welcome. Store and restaurant too. Very sufficient supply for daily needs. Close to town with other stores. Berlin City can be reached in 20 minutes (by car). Pitches are nicely paved so that even motorhomes have... no problem. Tent area separated from the caravan/camper area with lots of benches and tables. All in all a beautifully situated campsite in the forest.Automatiskt översatt.
- Frank K.September 2017PositivaPeace and quiet, hiking between two lakes, excellent transport connections, cycling, swimming in summer or simply relaxingNegativanone at allDreamWe found this place through our friends. Everything was just right. From the sanitary facilities to the fresh bread rolls in the morning. The staff were very friendly. It's impossible to list all the possible activities. Just one sentence: go there and experience it.Automatiskt översatt.
- Bernd P.August 2017Positivavery quiet location large pitches close to the lake very friendly staff very good price-performance ratioNegativaQuite far away from the Berlin hot spots Sanitary facilities quite antiqueUpdate on the place of a "repeat offender" :-))Update 2017: my original review dates back to 2012 (see below). In the meantime, we have been back to the Paltz a few times, most recently in August 2017, so an update is due. Basically, the rating from 2012 still stands. The place is far away from the hustle and bustle, but quiet and quite pleasant.... The - new - staff are still really nice and open. However, there have been a few changes. The lunch break has now been abolished. A huge advantage! The restaurant has new tenants. The food on offer is limited, but tasty and the price level is absolutely fine. You can also see it in the frequency of use, it is popular with both permanent campers and "transit campers". Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities are now quite outdated. A renovation would be more than appropriate. The current cleaning team is also not very pleasant. It's strange when a penetrating smell of sweat pervades the sanitary facilities after entering this duo... The financial problems seem to have been overcome. The site's future seems secure. The permanent campers have changed a little. Many of the older people from my 2012 assessment are no longer to be seen. Unfortunately, some of the new permanent campers now have a different attitude towards us tourists. This year I had a few strange instructive conversations, such as that I shouldn't stop in front of the barrier to check in (where else, if there are still no waiting lanes?). Let's see how this changes over the next few years. Another positive change: there is now WLAN on the site. The connection works well and the price is quite reasonable! However, there is room for improvement, but I still like the site. The price-performance ratio is absolutely okay! Here's the original text from 2012: First of all, we've already been to the campsite five times, so I'm confident that I can give a comprehensive assessment of the campsite. Among the positive aspects: - The absolutely quiet location! Anyone who has had a stressful day in Berlin will appreciate the peace and quiet and almost village-like location - Kladow is a very nice district with all the shopping facilities for daily needs - the proximity to one of Berlin's most beautiful lakes, the Glienicker See. Here you can really get that vacation feeling - there is a bus stop in the immediate vicinity. By changing at Kladow, you can get to the Zoo station - the location is very suitable for trips to Potsdam - the reception is manned until 10 pm; this helped us a lot when we were stuck in traffic jams on arrival! - the staff at the site are very friendly and helpful - the site is mainly in the hands of permanent campers. However, the mostly older people are extremely friendly, so that you feel welcome and not at all like a nuisance - the price-performance ratio is very good. So you can really still afford a stay! Despite all the positive factors, there are also a few points worthy of criticism: - the sanitary facilities are quite old and when the site is full, the number of showers is already very close to the capacity limit - during prolonged rain, some pitches are heavily under water and you wade through the mud. A bit of straightening out would be helpful - like all Berlin sites, the campsite is a bit at the end of the world. A quick trip into the city is not possible. It takes less than an hour by car or bus. If you want a more central location, you have to use the camper van sites in Berlin. The only thing missing is the vacation atmosphere! - Lunch break! Actually a joke for a pitch in the German capital. I couldn't believe that there was such a thing. During the break, the site looks more like a high-security wing than a campsite. Anyone who has forgotten their key has no chance of getting onto the site. What's more, there are not enough parking spaces in front of the gate. Not to mention waiting lanes for caravans! - the restaurant is not particularly customer-oriented and is only open sporadically. Even the employees of the campsite can only shake their heads at the operator. Last year, the operator didn't open on the evening of the World Cup final, despite requests from numerous Dutch guests on the pitch! Conclusion: for us, the positive aspects outweigh the negative, so we will always come back. A site without a lot of frills, which is therefore affordable and concentrates on the essentials of camping. Nevertheless, a little modernization would do us good. However, the operator DCC Berlin has had some financial problems in recent years. I hope the site survives in the long term!Automatiskt översatt.
- Annika G.June 2017Positiva- Beautiful and quiet location - Two bathing lakes nearbyNegativa- Narrow plots - Old sanitary facilities - No ball games on the whole site - Partly unfriendly staff and permanent campersQuiet place. Not for families with children. We (2 adults + 2 children) were on the pitch. It is in a very quiet location next to the forest. The fox and the hare really do say goodnight to each other here. The hare has already gone to sleep and the fox cleans out the garbage cans at night and carries off the shoes. I find it very difficult to... stay here with children (no ball games on the whole site, + no noisy romping). The pitches are clean but very cramped. If you like the look of the 50s/60s, the clean sanitary building is a good place to be. Showering is difficult with children as the shower cubicles are very small. (After inserting the coin, the 6min-€0.50 run off without water consumption) Some of the staff are friendly, most of them are not. If you want to go into the capital from the square, you have to accept a 15-minute walk to the bus stop and a 60-minute bus ride with two changes. There are two bathing lakes nearby.Automatiskt översatt.
- Kerstin W.June 2017Quiet city campsiteThe campsite is in a very quiet location in the southwest of Berlin. The pitches are relatively large. There is enough space for caravans with awnings and cars. Green surroundings. It is quite far to the city center. The staff are friendly and direct. Typical Berliners.Automatiskt översatt.
- Franziska H.June 2017PositivaQuiet location, large pitchesNegativaOff the beaten trackScenic location but off the beaten track and expandableIf you drive to B by car or like long bus rides with 2-3 changes, the square is in a nice location. If you find it a little difficult to walk and are dependent on public transport, we would probably recommend the site in Gatow. The site is generally very quiet and is located right between Sarkower See... and Groß Glienicker See. You can also swim at both lakes. The pitches are spacious and very clean. The sanitary facilities are available in sufficient numbers and are usually quite clean. However, the showers were cleaned between 6 and 8:30 am during our stay, which is a bit inconvenient. Showers also cost extra. The time (50 cents/6 minutes) continues to run even if you turn off the water in the meantime to soap up. However, the water pressure is good and the water is hot at all times of the day. However, you should be self-catering on the campsite. The selection in the "Clubhaus" restaurant on the campsite is very limited and the owners sometimes close early. The mini supermarket also has a limited selection, but everything you need quickly. The owner alone is also worth a visit. Not only does he prepare good coffee and bake all kinds of baked goods, he is also always in a good mood and entertains his customers. The reception of the place is officially staffed around the clock and if you don't have a cell phone with you, you might have to wait quite a while. Some of the staff there are very friendly, others not so much. It can be particularly difficult if the payment method (card) given does not work and you have to try several cards before it is accepted that the device cannot establish a connection. However, this does not mean that you can pay by invoice. No, you are sent to the local vending machine or you have to fold. The service could be improved here if the problem is not with the customer.Automatiskt översatt.
- Marcel P.June 2017PositivaTop location on the outskirts of Berlin and yet in the countrysideNegativaNothing for children. No family showers. Orga team "expandable"Not for families - otherwise a nice place!Pros: - The site is beautifully laid out. Lots of trees, very quiet on the outskirts of Berlin. Everything nearby by bike! From swimming lakes to shopping facilities ... - Good and cheap bakery directly on the site Contra: - "Everything" costs extra (showers -,50€ for 6 min, washing 3,50€, dryer 3,-€).... - No family showers. Children have to go in the small shower. Exclusive showering of the children is not possible ... - Despite our reservation, we had to go to the campsite first. After inspection and clarification, no problem - restaurant not always recommended. Maybe we were just unlucky.Automatiskt översatt.
- Cindy C.May 2017PositivanoneNegativaPartly inhabited by people who don't have an apartment, they hang around in the restaurant and scare you away. Not suitable for families with childrenThe place is outdated no shower in the baby washroom, staff and board members very rude, many permanent campers live permanently in caravans that are rotten covered with foil, much does not meet the camping standard, the restaurant is also not recommended, kitchen unclean, maybe we had bad luck again this year like 10 years ago, just too expensive for what is offered.Automatiskt översatt.
