But sewer problems stank bestial!!!!!!!! Swimming pool seemed dirty to me everywhere doors and gates open always draught in the indoor pool. For me not a 5 star place Again I don't know? Staff and everything else was good.Automatiskt översatt.
- Markus Z.June 2019A place for a long weekendWash houses could do with some renovation especially the running time of the water in the showersAutomatiskt översatt.
- Klaus M.May 2019PositivaSwimming pool top, sanitary always super cleanNegativaDog bags were missing every dayGreat family CPSanitary facilities are getting on in years but super clean, heated and with disinfectant in the toilets. Swimming pool very good, everything else there, snack bar, small grocery store and discreet children's entertainment. I have the feeling that the proportion of mobile homes is increasing. The camper area is getting smaller and smaller. The site is currently being enlarged, all mobile homes - a pity.Automatiskt översatt.
- Marc F.June 2018NegativaSanitary, extremely sloping pitches 12cm wedges were not enoughDefinitely used to have 5 starsWell the sanitary facilities are run down the shower heads are a joke as you have to hold the shower button. Everywhere it stinks of sewer. Have a nice playground in the upper area the lower playground should be closed due to safety deficiencies. My impression is that birkelt is building more and more rental bunkers and neglecting everything else for normal campers. There is nothing for dogs on the site except poop bagsAutomatiskt översatt.
- J. M.May 2018PositivaLarger pitches with trees, sufficient sanitary facilities and mostly clean despite full occupancy Many excursion possibilitiesNegativaQuite expensive, reservation fee, swimming pool could be improved (incl. longer opening hours), no late check out possibleBeautiful camping for familiesWe were here for 3 nights over Ascension Day. Cost 40 euros per night for 2 adults + 1 child + caravan on a standard pitch. ----- Positive: the pitch was spacious, beautifully overgrown with hedges and old trees. - Despite full occupancy, clean and adequate sanitary facilities - friendly welcome and... nice service in the small (expensive) shop. - Nice play facilities for the kids - great excursion possibilities within a 30 km radius ------ Negative: no late check-out possible, not even against payment, although the place was very empty - swimming pool very chlorinated, water polluted, very loud, overcrowded, despite full capacity only opening hours from 11-19.00 o'clock. Conclusion: Especially recommended for families with children.Automatiskt översatt.
- Cornelia n.April 2018PositivaMobilhome blackout blindsNegativaIndoor pool too coldmobilhomeWe had a mobile home for 4 pers. shower 2 beds and a double bed waten available. There were only blankets as covers. I advise you to bring your own bedding. In April there was unfortunately no horse riding for children, which was a pity and nobody tried to change anything. Many playgrounds and indoor... playground. Swimming pool available, but very cold in April. The indoor temperature was also more for the hardy. Food available directly at the campsite, otherwise you have to drive. There is no BACKOFEN in the mobile home. Relatively small pots. Glass crockery. Separate shower and WC. All windows in the sleeping area have blackout blinds and fly screens. That was really good. Large covered outdoor terrace and garden furniture. Laundry rack, but no clothespins that you have to bring with you. Car can be parked in front of the mobile home. TV with some German programs.Automatiskt översatt.
- Jürgen K.September 2017PositivaLarge pitches, good facilities for children, indoor poolNegativaShopping facilities, sloping pitches, hardly any television reception, site characterized by many mobile homes and rental tents!Nice place with unfortunately not so nice pitchesWe were here at the beginning of September with ACSI Card. For the price, what is on offer is acceptable. The wash houses are clean but a bit outdated. The pitches are almost all sloping and the TV reception is very limited due to the trees. However, after some searching we found a place for our 9 meter... mobile, even with satellite reception, and water taps are a short distance away. There is a disposal station for Womo in the middle of the site. Waste disposal at the wash houses. Waste disposal at the pitch is only available on so-called comfort pitches. The playground, children's entertainment, indoor swimming pool and mini golf make the site particularly suitable for families with children. A mini-market stocks the essentials. The food on offer in the restaurant is essentially limited to pizzas and chips!Automatiskt översatt.
- Steffen B.May 2017PositivaLarge plots under trees, great swimming pool, nature in the surrounding areaNegativaPitches very uneven and partly with a significant slopeA relaxing weekend despite a fully booked pitchMany NRW residents are drawn to Holland over the long weekends. We wanted to give our Luxembourg neighbors a chance and have to say that this opportunity was taken. The Birkelt campsite welcomes its guests outside the campsite on these busy weekends and provides arriving holidaymakers with the access... code for the barrier system, information about the booked pitch (a reservation is highly recommended on such weekends) and the campsite map. The actual registration is done later at reception. Spacious pitches under trees (makes satellite reception difficult) offer sufficient space. However, aligning the caravan here is quite an act - on many pitches you can see the most adventurous alignment and many a support leg reaches its maximum limits. The site actually offers everything you could wish for. A great swimming pool, a store, lots of sanitary facilities (which are always clean), lots of play facilities for children and teenagers, a restaurant (with a big screen outside for football matches) and an entertainment program. You can start hiking directly from the campsite and enjoy nature and the surrounding area, but of course you can also reach surrounding destinations in Luxembourg very quickly by car (the capital is less than 30 km away). Above all, the nature in Luxembourg Switzerland is really great and we will definitely be back.Automatiskt översatt.
- Bernd S.October 2016PositivaInfrastructure structure, locationNegativaUneven pitchesVery nicely located placeA beautifully situated site with a very good infrastructure and a great area for children. The site is characterized by mobile homes. The disadvantages are the large but mostly very uneven pitches, which make it difficult to align the caravan.Automatiskt översatt.
- werner s.July 2016PositivaA place to feel good and come back toNegativaunfortunately a bit off the beaten track from Larochette -Large campsite with good facilities- large camping site with many mobile homes - friendly staff pitch requests are fulfilled according to availability. clean sanitary facilities - good supply options/shopping on the site - unfortunately the pitches are very slopingAutomatiskt översatt.
- Claus S.July 2016PositivaCovered and heated swimming pool, restaurant with good cuisine, great service team, small store with the essentials, sufficient.NegativaBus stop very far away. Many of the pitches are covered with foil, mud when it rains, should be banned.Quiet CPSpacious pitches even for large WOMOs, electricity water sewage on site, top. Nice swimming pool and top restaurant, especially the team in the restaurant is great.Automatiskt översatt.
- Andreas L.May 2016PositivaIndoor and outdoor pool, playgrounds, locationSuper beautiful hiking area to explore! We stayed at this beautiful campsite for 5 nights in May. Despite the Whitsun vacations, there were still plenty of free pitches to choose from. We were there with our three children aged 4, 6 and 8. There was an indoor playground, indoor pool, playgrounds and a different children's program every day.... The location is ideal for great hikes and castle visits. We can highly recommend the beautiful circular trail (4.5 km) C2 in Consdorf. It goes over gorges and caves. The children managed the trail without any problems. Don't forget your flashlight as it gets quite dark. Hiking maps and other excursion tips are available at the information desk. The castle in Larochette is of course also worth a visit. We can highly recommend this place for anyone looking for peace and quiet and for hikers.Automatiskt översatt.
- Oliver L.May 2016PositivaFacilities suitable for children and dogs, clean sanitary facilities, very friendly staff at reception and in the restaurant.NegativaNone for us.Very pleasant, quiet and clean campsiteWe (2 adults, 3 children, 1 dog) stayed in a Vacansoleil mobile home "Bali 1" for a week at the end of May 2016. Everything was perfect for us. The mobile home was clean and functional, there were plenty of playgrounds and leisure activities for our children, we liked the indoor pool that could be opened... and we were able to take our dog for long walks in the immediate vicinity. Worthwhile excursions lead to Luxembourg City (approx. 45 min.), Echternach (approx. 45 min.), Trier (approx. 50 min.) and Metz (outlet - approx. 1 hour).Automatiskt översatt.
- Stefan Ludwig M.June 2015PositivaBeautiful, varied pitches, good and clean sanitary facilities, wonderful location.NegativanoneVery nice placeFor the first time on a campsite in Luxembourg, which is practically around the corner from us, we chose the Birkelt campsite. There was a change of ownership in mid-May and the campsite now belongs to the Iris Parc Group. The site is beautifully and quietly situated on a hill. A large part of the site... is occupied by Vacansoleil mobile homes and tents. There are also some permanent guests. However, at least when we were there over Corpus Christi, there are still a large number of freely selectable pitches of all kinds. There really is a place for everyone here. Either in the shade under trees or with a clear view to the south, everything is available here. Some of the pitches themselves are quite sloped, so you should have the appropriate material on board to support the supports. However, the pitches are not really unpleasantly sloping. All are more or less parceled out with hedges, the Comfort pitches all have water and waste water on site, electricity anyway and even 16A! The staff are very friendly, there's nothing to complain about. WLAN is included in the price. The sanitary buildings are clean and really adequately sized, only the cleaning times - when they are closed - are a bit... take some getting used to. I found it positive that there are even disinfectant dispensers in the toilets for cleaning the toilet seats. However, these should also be filled. Ok, some of them were. With the first two - which were either not filled or defective - I thought I was too stupid to use the thing ;-) The showers are pleasantly large and have plenty of storage space. The waste disposal system is also exemplary. The store has everything you need, otherwise you just have to walk into town or drive about ten kilometers to the white man's discounters. The bread rolls are baked on site, they are... ok. There are also all sorts of different pieces, but if you want a selection, you should be there shortly after the store opens. The staff here are also very friendly. I can't judge the restaurant, we catered for ourselves in the 6 days we were there, but between 9 and 12 euros for a pizza, for example, is quite hefty. We didn't use the swimming pool either, so I can't comment on that either. Our neighbor's little one was very impressed by the entertainment, even in the low season there was something going on every day. Dogs are also welcome here, there are plenty of poop bag dispensers and the fact that dogs are not allowed in the restaurant didn't bother us because we didn't want to go in anyway, but you can also sit outside. Otherwise, you can move freely around the site with your dog, except in the swimming pool and playground area, but that's the right thing to do. The 200m walk down to Larochette is via a path with lots of steps, but we found it easy to walk. It takes 10 minutes to get down, but a little longer to get up, depending on your fitness level. Right after the first 100 meters after the square you have a fantastic view of the castle of Larochette. There are a few cafés in the town itself where you can sit and enjoy a coffee or an ice cream. You should also not be afraid to walk up the path on the other side of the mountain to the castle. Of course you can also drive there. Visiting the castle is well worth the 3 euro entrance fee. It also offers a wonderful view over Larochette. For shopping, there is an Esso station at the end of the village which offers a surprisingly large range of products in the adjoining store. We didn't expect to find such a well-stocked supermarket there. If you need more, drive 10 km by car to Miersch where, in addition to a mall, you will also find all the discount stores known in Germany. A tip for hikers: a hiking trail leads directly past the campsite and is named "Tourentip Larochette" in Outdooractive. A really great trail that leads through the forest for 10 km. You pass Meysemburg Castle - unfortunately privately owned and not open to the public - and finally return to the campsite via Larochette.Automatiskt översatt.
- Jens J.May 2015PositivaA heated indoor pool, the water was warm. The indoor playground was also great in the bad weather. Hot showers included in the price.NegativaSome of the pitches were inclined over 2 axles, so aligning the caravan was not easy.Beautiful place with swimming pool and playgroundsWe stayed at the site for 3 nights over May 1st, extending our original 2 day booking by an extra night. We had a comfort pitch and I didn't notice any difference in size. At least electricity, water and waste water on site. W-lan is included in the price. Small, well-stocked store with fair prices.Automatiskt översatt.
- Timo B.April 2015PositivaQuiet, clean, top value for money, top restaurant, top swimming pool, large pitchesNegativanothingCamping Birkelt was great and we will be backWe were there 4 nights after Easter with 2 WW and 2 children and dog, everything was top clean and all very friendly.Automatiskt översatt.
- Walter K.September 2014PositivaQuiet and beautifully situatedNegativanoneIntermediate stationYou can make a stopover here but also stay longer if you like hiking. Spacious pitches with all connections available. Sanitary facilities well equipped and clean. Well organized site with mostly "NL" license plates on the vehicles. Everyone is friendly and courteous.Automatiskt översatt.
- Christiane W.May 2014PositivaGreat playgrounds. Super bathing facilities.NegativaSelf-cleaning of rental accommodation ok. But problematic in bad weather.Super placeWe booked a 6-person tent there through Vacansoleil. There were only two of us. Nice neighbors, mostly in NL hands. Tent very comfortable, well-maintained site. Can highly recommend it for families with children!Automatiskt översatt.
- Gerd-Dieter B.May 2014PositivaLarge pitches, idyllic location, good sanitary facilitiesNice campsite with large pitches, quiet location, not far from Luxembourg. The swimming pool is small, but can be used in summer and winter. You can get everything you need for food, etc. on the site.Automatiskt översatt.
- Manuel F.March 2014PositivaGreat surroundings for hiking etc. Swimming pool and indoor pool Beautiful indoor playgroundNegativaRestaurant a bit expensive but very goodBeautiful place in great surroundingsWe were with dog and 7 year old shortly after Easter on Birkelt. The approach is a bit steep and leads through a few narrow streets. Directly from the place there is the possibility to make beautiful walks. The Müller Thal MUST be seen super beautiful.Automatiskt översatt.
