- Janina S.May 2023PositivaThe super beautiful pitches, peace and quiet and the nature reserveNegativaOld and dirty sanitary facilitiesGreat pitches, but sanitary facilities old and dirtyThe campsite is ideally located for getting to Zandvoort (along the beach) or to the cities of Harlem / Amsterdam. The pitches are large enough and it is quiet on the site.
A big minus point are the old and dirty sanitary facilities, which are also rarely cleaned when the site is full (sometimes only once)Automatiskt översatt. - Stanislav P.September 2022PositivaPerfectly organized place, great location, great pitchesNegativaNoneIdeal campsite in the dunesVery nice place in a dune area. The reception staff are very friendly. The pitches are partly between the dunes and are large enough. The sanitary facilities are adequate and clean. The beach is about 500-1000m away, but you have to cross a sand dune. Great sandy beach where you can swim even at low... tide. There is a large national park behind the campsite which is ideal for hiking, cycling and wildlife watching. Other excursions such as to Haarlem, 8 km (very nice old town) or Zandvoort, 4 km, are possible by bike or bus.Automatiskt översatt.
- Uli B.August 2022PositivaThe location of the CP directly in the dunes is truly breathtaking. The grounds are lovingly laid out. The check-in was completely contactless and we were able to drive straight into the campsite. Very friendly welcome at reception. Pitch not overcrowded despite HS. Sanitary facilities very clean and sufficient. To Zandvoort only 10 min. by bike and from there in 20 min. by train directly to Amsterdam.NegativaNothing to complain about, everything was great.Beautiful CP directly in the dunesThe campsite is located directly in the dunes near a nature reserve. The path to the extensive and long sandy beach leads through the campsite and then up and down the dune. The sound of the sea can be heard right up to the campsite.Automatiskt översatt.

As we booked online, can I drive to my pitch without visiting reception? It worked.
No queuing, as you usually have to do.
Plug in the power, clear out the car, take out the chairs and enjoy.
The fridge has produced a cool drink during the journey.... The sun was shining, everything was fine.
We did a lot of cycling, the Kenmerduinen nature reserve is great to explore by bike or on foot.
It was a short walk to the beach from our pitch, the beach is great. You'll find the usual beach huts, but also 'lots of countryside'...
It's also only a short bike ride to Zandvoord or Haarlem.
Even Amsterdam can be reached quickly by bus or train.
The bus stops right near the exit.
We found nice neighbors, and the camping site is generally rather relaxed.
Washing up is easy to do with really hot water, and there is no time limit for showering. We have experienced different things on other campsites. There are several sanitary buildings on the site, although the site was fully booked, there were enough showers and toilets available. A very well-equipped bike rental is also part of the offer, wellness (if you need it) is also offered by the campsite.
Sports activities can be booked.
What I find exceptionally good is the lack of lighting at night, so you can sit outside in the dark in the evening and see the stars again.
As we weren't able to take advantage of all the offers at the Capming and the surrounding area, we made another booking.
We will probably have to do this more often.Automatiskt översatt. - Julia K.July 2021Positiva- Location - Atmosphere on the site - great for children: entertainment, parade, silent disco, playgrounds ... - Camping in the dunes (if you have the right pitch and book early) - Delicious burgers in the restaurantNegativa- Wash houses no longer modern and sometimes not cleaned often enough - long distances on the CP (take your bikes with you)Our "campsite of the heart" with a casual atmosphereDe Lakens remains our vacation paradise.
Even when it storms, rains and is often too cool ...
Top for children, great starting point for cycling tours and walks in the dunes.
By bike to Haarlem, Amsterdam (25-30km), Zandvoord.
The atmosphere on the site is incredibly relaxed, lots of vans and tents.
If you like camping close to nature, don't disdain a bit of hipster flair and don't need a bargain, you'll be very happy here.Automatiskt översatt. - Karl D.June 2021PositivaAlmost everythingNegativa- Showers (water pressure) could be much better - Price-performance ratio in the restaurantBeautiful campsiteGreat location in the dunes. You can choose your pitch in advance and, depending on what's on offer, you're either in comfort, with a picnic table, hammock or on the playground. Depending on the pitch, very quiet or in the middle of the playground. Close to the sea and close to the nature reserve. Sanitary... also in order. Water pressure in the showers very low. There are many offers. Restaurant ok but rather expensive for the service. In the end I can only recommend this campsite!Automatiskt översatt.
- Jörg T.July 2020PositivaBeautiful campsite situated in the dunes. Very good restaurant and small supermarket directly on the site.NegativaWe have not found any disadvantages.Vacation in the dunesThis was the kind of vacation you want. The place invites you to absolutely relax and it's only a few minutes' walk to the beach and the North Sea.
We rented a Seashack Deluxe cottage and were thrilled. Very clean and cozy.
The staff are super friendly and helpful.
We will definitely be back. But then with our roof tent.Automatiskt översatt. - Ilka S.July 2020PositivaLocationNegativaToo few sanitary facilities. You almost always had to queue to shower.Great dune campsiteSuper campsite in the dunes. We really liked it there. Our only criticism would be the number of wash houses. It was always very busy and you almost always had to queue to shower.Automatiskt översatt.
- Jan S.October 2019PositivaVaried design of the pitches with a short path to the waterNegativaPartially no separation from the other parking spacesNaturally grown space in the dunesA beautifully landscaped site in the dunes with a wide variety of pitches and a great sauna. The small supermarket is also well stocked. However, some pitches are right next to each other in an open area, so you're not really on your own. The facilities are very good and booking was straightforward, including extensions.Automatiskt översatt.
- Sven F.September 2019PositivaBeach, location in the dunes, cycling, Haarlem, Amsterdam, public transport connections, Zandvoort, kiting, surfing, beach life, cleanliness, atmosphereNegativanone - for dog owners it may be that no animals are allowed in the entire nature reserve, but the site can't help that.Simply super.....We spent 9 nights with our caravan on a comfort pitch in mid-September and had a great time. The pitch in the middle of the dunes had shell sand and we actually only walked around in flip-flops. The guests were a colorful mix and it didn't give the typical stuffy camping impression at all, on the contrary,... we really enjoyed the relaxed, laid-back atmosphere. The large sanitary block was perfectly fine, a nearby toilet block was also fine, of course the sand from visitors sometimes gets into the block, but you are in the middle of the dunes. The beach is fantastic and somehow never ends! You can easily spend 2 days walking left and right, with no end in sight! As it is very windy, you should always secure your tents properly, if necessary there are storm straps in the Spar! ;) We took the bus right outside the campsite to Haarlem (family day ticket 14 euros) and from there we traveled to Amsterdam for 20 euros return (2 people). Everything worked out great! Simply fantastic! In the evening from 22:00 there was nothing to hear except the sea and that was great. No evening parties or bawling, great! We wanted to extend for another 5 days, but as we would still have had to move (take the tent down and put it up again) we decided on a different pitch. Afterwards we should have stayed! We will definitely be back! As far as the proximity to Zandvoort is concerned, it can of course happen that the racing noise reaches you, that was also the case with us on the weekend, but it didn't bother us and it was quiet during the week. There are also one or two planes that take off/land at Schiphol, but that didn't bother us either. Have fun everyone in the hammocks and see you soon, we'll be back! :)Automatiskt översatt.Besvaras från Kennemer Duincamping de Lakens October 1, 2019Dear Mr. Fortkämper,
We are delighted to read your positive review! :-)
Unfortunately small animals are not allowed at our campsite because we work together with the National Park and many wild animals live in the area and the territory will be disturbed. We have a sister campsite in Castricum (Camping... Geversduin) where you can stay with your dog.
We are absolutely delighted to hear that you had such a nice experience with us and hope to welcome you again in Bloemendaal aan Zee!
Kind regards, ''Team de Lakens''Automatiskt översatt. - Thomas P.August 2019PositivaProximity to the sea and nature reserveNegativaUnderground, paramedics, proximity to the race trackThe place lives from its locationThe place conveys an "alternative", relaxed surfer style. Relaxed camping in the dunes, the sea within easy reach and you automatically want to walk around in flip-flops 😁. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities are not so clean, which in my opinion is due to the surface of the pitch. The surface is... a mixture of earth, sand and shell fragments. It looks great, but is unfortunately a disadvantage when it rains and it was very uncomfortable in the tent. A huge disadvantage is the proximity to the race track in Zandvoort, where the ADAC GT Masters was taking place at our weekend. That meant racing car and no surfer feeling from Friday morning.Automatiskt översatt.Besvaras från Kennemer Duincamping de Lakens August 18, 2019Hello Mr. Palkowski, thank you very much for your review. Good to hear that you had a relaxed vacation. We are sorry to hear that our sanitary facilities were not so clean. If you come directly to the reception next time, we can clean it right away? See you next time!Automatiskt översatt.
- Tobias F.August 2019PositivaClose to the beach, quiet.Again and again with pleasure!Beautiful campsite in the middle of the dunes. Very friendly welcome. Zandvoort is easy to reach by bus, bike or on foot. From there you can explore the surrounding area by train. The store on site has the necessary groceries. Despite the high season, it was very quiet and relaxing. The beach can be reached "over" the dunes. The sanitary facilities are clean. Of course, there are also guests here who don't leave the toilets clean.Automatiskt översatt.

- Ben K.May 2019PositivaAbsolute peace and quiet in the evening, everything clean and well maintained.NegativaShowers very short, but you can live with that.Top campsite - my top favorite - absolute recommendationWe were here in May 2019. Although the site is very large, you can find absolute peace and quiet in the evening, from around 9 pm you can only hear a few animal noises and the sound of the wind. Absolutely brilliant for getting away from it all. The youth camp and campsite are somewhat secluded, so nobody... is disturbed here. The site is divided into several bays or sections, each with a few pitches separated by dunes. This makes the whole site very quiet. The sanitary facilities were always clean and well-maintained, there are older (but still okay) and newly built ones. And the fact that one or two guests unfortunately leave a mess behind is not the fault of the campsite or the staff, but it is always cleaned up promptly. All the staff were very friendly and we were usually able to express our wishes in German. The camping market has everything you need in between, the breakfast rolls were very good. Fair prices. Our pitch was very spacious, we could have just parked another caravan, so it was very relaxed. The peace and quiet was the absolute highlight for us, that's why we go on vacation, to get away from it all. That worked out perfectly here.Automatiskt översatt.

- Tim S.September 2018PositivaThe location in the middle of the Kennemer dunes! The very spacious course...and also the proximity to the racecourse has its charm...NegativaHigh price...which also applies to W-Lan. Sanitary at most 3 stars...at the price there is an urgent need to catch up!!!Location...location...location...that's what the place lives on! Attention: CC card is no longer valid in 2019Unique location directly in the dunes...that's what makes this place special. Directly adjacent to the nature reserve "Kennemer Dünen"...wonderful for hiking and also great for cycling thanks to many paved paths - for nature lovers there's a lot to see here: free-range Galloway cattle...wild horses...roe... deer...and completely free of buildings. The Zandvoort race track (approx. 3km away) usually has free access - a must for car lovers! However, the noise of the race track is kept within tolerable limits at the campsite. However, I don't think the town of Zandvoort is the best - mostly ugly architecture and mainly fast food restaurants... Back to the campsite: the sanitary facilities are pretty lousy for the price range - if you're looking for separate washing cubicles or exemplary sanitary facilities, you're in the wrong place here despite the high prices - many German campsites are much better! One plus point: freely accessible sauna at no extra charge, which is ok so far. The site as such is very spacious...perfectly adequate for evening walks ;-) The walk to the beach is tough though: quite close...but you have to cross a huge dune first - with really fine sandy terrain (2 steps forward...one back) - reminiscent of torture hills from military training films...anyway, you're flat when you get to the beach... The pitches are large enough but mostly not really parceled out. W-Lan is outrageously expensive: 4.5 € for one day and for max. 2 devices...which don't even have network access at the same time! So it was better to use your own cell phone to access the network - even with E-Plus you had quite good internet (for laptop use, simply set up the cell phone as a mobile hotspot). Gastronomy on site rather poor - Dutch-style fast food...you pay €6 for an Alster...but the fries are good! All in all, the food on offer and the price range are more suitable for cooking yourself... In the supermarket on the square you can get the most necessary things - bread rolls in a quite useful selection. Otherwise, head to Zandvoort where there are several supermarkets (and for guests who love the Dutch specialties *cough* there are also 2 stores there...for those who understand what I mean :-) ) Addendum for 2019: the CC discount card is no longer accepted by de Lakens in 2019, contrary to the information here on Camping-Info! Unfortunately...Automatiskt översatt.
- Julia W.August 2018Positiva- Shopping facilities - Pitches partly in the dunesNegativa- Sanitary building not really clean - many guests do not observe the rest periodsGreat location, but very largeVery large campsite. Sanitary buildings are relatively new, but not always clean. The pitches are in a great location, some in the middle of the dunes. There's a lot going on at reception, a bit of "mass processing" due to the size of the site. We stayed at the campsite at the end of August. There is a supermarket where you can buy food and a few camping accessories.Automatiskt översatt.
