"the journey was in vain!!! - After two great days at the Ortobello family campsite, we drove along the SS223 past Siena to the Luxor campsite. Coming from the south, you drive the last few kilometers to CP Luxor from Fattoria Lornano on a Strada Bianca! This approach to CP Luxor was so narrow that it can happen that you have to back up. We also had to back up with our WOMO when a Tiguan driver didn't want to drive back. This route cannot be recommended, the Strada Bianca from the Strada della Badesse junction is better, although you have to cross under the Florzen/Siena expressway here. Unfortunately, I didn't find any passing masses on the way through. There are no reasonable alternative routes on either side of the tunnel, which is no problem if you are lucky and there is no oncoming traffic. The site is located on a hill in the middle of a holm oak forest and only has a few pitches for motorhomes. The site is best suited for tents or campervans. Although there is a restaurant, it was not open during our overnight stay. There are no other catering facilities on the site either! The partially renovated sanitary building is the "highlight" of this site, but the showers still urgently need to be renovated. The swimming pool was also being renovated. Monteriggioni, the former outpost of Siena, is not far away and you have a wonderful view of the old fortress. Unfortunately, there is no other way to get there apart from the road, or we didn't find it. We will not visit the campsite again.

"A FABULOUS PLACE - A fabulous place... Once I arrived at the facility I was greeted impeccably. Spacious and shady pitches. You find yourself immersed in nature. All the staff at the facility are young, helpful and professional. Pool clean and beautiful. At dinner we were able to enjoy some excellent traditional dishes, but also a quick and light lunch. The location is very strategic. I RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE!!! Greetings to the Staff guys and see you soon

Luxor Chianti Village is located in Castellina in Chianti, Siena, in the heart of Tuscany, the Chianti area, surrounded by Val d’Elsa and Monteriggioni. Our Village is situated in a very strategic position: near the main cities of Florence and …Siena, close to the precious historic villages of San Gimignano and Volterra and within 1 hour from the seaside coast. Our camping is an amazing place for nature lovers, families, kids and pets and for camping holidays, an oasis of kindness on the hill of Trasqua, confined among oak trees that characterize the area. To the altitude of 300 msls, the camping extends on 10.000 mqs of a luxuriant brushwood, typical of the amazing Tuscany. Our guests have the chance to put their tents, caravans and campers on comfortable grassy small pitch shady position: no square confinements, to support the feeling of freedom that a camping holiday needs plus to enhance the deep connection with the nature. You can get free electricity supply and, water and grey water disposal. Our plus services, moreover, include Trasqua Restaurant&Pools area, a Wi-Fi-free bar and restaurant near the pools for adults, a playground for kids. Everyone can enjoy the Chiantishire experience tasting the excellent dishes of the gourmet Tuscan cuisine. The Camping is endowed with a free Wi-Fi point and allows the free access to pets, for living an unique experience together with your pal!
