- Andreas S.May 2018Top locationMedium-sized site with around 80 concrete pitches between generous grass areas and many more pitches completely on grass. Very wide and well asphalted driveways. Due to the hillside location, you have a view of the cliffs from most of the higher pitches, at least in theory. When we arrived here at the... end of May around 2 pm, we were given a very friendly welcome and were able to choose from the 5 free hardstands. Due to the layout in rows and the lack of any trees or shrubs, the pitch seemed a little uncomfortable to us. It is about 200m to the pier, about 1200m to the village and about 8km to the cliffs. At the end of May we paid €23 for a mobile home with 2 people and electricity. (Dogs free) The use of the stove in the camper kitchen costs extra, showers are 1€ and the hair dryer 50 cents. WLAN should be available free of charge on the site, unfortunately the reception in the outer ring was too weak. The reception includes a small store for the essentials. We didn't see any shops in the village.Automatiskt översatt.
- Regina S.July 2017PositivaCliffs of Moher "around the corner" Aran Island Ferry on the doorstepNegativaLong way to a decent supermarketSomewhat sterileIt is a clean campsite. The pitches are equipped with electricity, water and drainage. All paths and pitches are asphalted. There are large grassy areas for tents. Unfortunately, the pitches are somewhat confusing, as you can use the adjacent meadow area to the left or right, depending on your own preference;... there are no specific boundaries to the green areas. The sanitary facilities are small for the size of the pitch, but at least they are clean. The shower cubicles are big enough and € 1,- for 10 minutes is acceptable (if you have to pay). Certainly recommended for those passing through, as it is close to the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Island Ferrys leave from the front door. Rather boring for longer stays. The site does not invite you to spend the whole day there. The use of electric heating is not recommended as it can easily upset neighboring campers.Automatiskt översatt.
- Heinz B.July 2015PositivaVaried tourist offer and hospitable team and people all aroundNegativait is closed in winterGreat gateway to the Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands and the Burren NPIdeally located in Doolin, the heart of Irish folk, this place is a great starting point for great discoveries. With the ferry to the Aran Islands on the doorstep, fantastic singing pubs in the village, the coastal path to the Cliffs of Moher not far away, the Burren NP inland with long-distance hiking trails and day tours in the Geopark above Galway Bay, it's simply great for an active vacationAutomatiskt översatt.
- Susanne G.July 2015PositivaGood starting point for tours in the very beautiful surroundingsNegativaTemporarily high occupancy ratesWell-kept place in beautiful surroundingsWell-kept site, spacious, asphalted pitches with water connection. As we had made a reservation, we got a pitch on the edge where it was quiet (even in the HS). Quite new, well-kept sanitary facilities (shower €1). There is a small grocery store on the site where you can buy the essentials. There are... good boat trips from the nearby harbor to the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands. However, in the HS this sometimes leads to increased crowds and traffic problems in the narrow village thoroughfare as well as full occupancy of the campsite. The nearby rocky coast is ideal for walks and excursions in the surrounding area.Automatiskt översatt.
- Christian E.June 2014PositivaWell-kept site with wonderful views of the Clifs and the sea. Friendly staff.NegativaIn 2014, impairment of the view due to construction work on the harbor.Great place in a spectacular landscape.Beautifully situated and well-maintained campsite with spacious pitches. You have a view of the cliffs and the sea from almost all the pitches. The sanitary facilities meet Irish standards and are kept clean. The reception staff are helpful and very friendly. There is a supply and disposal station on... the site. Tip: be sure to plan a short excursion on foot along the coast to the west (takes about 1 hour). Fascinating Burren formations can be seen right next to the site, offering atmospheric views of the sea and the cliffs in the evening light.Automatiskt översatt.
- Norbert T.June 2014PositivaLocation, clean sanitary facilities.NegativaConstruction work nearby in 2014.Cliff "s of MoherBeautifully situated, but wind-prone CP with a view of the Cliff "s of Moher. Close to the "Burren" rock formation. At the moment unfortunately construction work at the pier of the excursion boats. Noise until late in the evening. Place is very well maintained. We received a very friendly welcome in... German at reception. Sanitary and lounge are clean. The pitches are asphalted or concreted and equipped with their own water and electricity connections. The children's playground is newly built, but looks completely sterile. It is rectangular with a metal fence and somehow looks like a high-security wing. Excursions are possible by boat to the Cliff "s or to the Aran Islands. A few pubs nearby.Automatiskt översatt.
- Marco H.April 2014PositivaOutlook,Very spacious campsite right on the Atlantic Ocean with a view of incredible cliffs. Unfortunately, the jetty area for boat trips, e.g. to the Cliffs of Moher, is currently being rebuilt in the area - so the view is spoiled by diggers. The site itself is very large, the pitches are all paved with asphalt.... There is a large meadow for tents. The sanitary facilities are clean and tidy. The men's area has a strange layout, as there are probably two adjoining individual rooms. The women's area is almost new and very large. Ideal place to visit the Cliffs of Moher or The Burren. The owner is very friendly and wanted to take us to the pub when we were walking around the site in the evening.Automatiskt översatt.
- Gesine und Wolfgang A.July 2013The welcome was friendly and courteous. All pitches with fresh water supply and waste water disposal. The sanitary facilities were completely ok. No complaints about cleanliness. The fact that the showers cost extra is common practice in the UK and Ireland. Therefore not a point of criticism. The proximity... to the jetty is of course great so that trips to the cliffs are very easy. And we did indeed see the dolphin that lives there. What do you mean "saw"? It surfaced two meters in front of me. Very impressive. Dogs are allowed on the campsite and walks in the immediate vicinity are very easy. The aforementioned wind was not a problem for us, as this year we caught the summer of the century in Ireland and it was over 30 degrees for three weeks and not a drop of rain fell. Driving and maneuvering with the caravan is completely uncomplicated on the entire campsite. I should also mention the proximity to O'Connor's pub in the nearby village. It's a bit of a tourist attraction. But well worth it. The food is good and affordable. Beer anyway. Highly recommended.Automatiskt översatt.
- Siegfried G.July 2013We (a family of five) spent two weeks on the island with our caravan in July. We spent three nights on this site. The pitches are very spacious, the sanitary building is clean, large and functionally equipped. There is a kitchen area with sufficient cooking facilities. Unfortunately, the cleanliness... of this area suffered a lot from the tent campers, who left the kitchen a mess after their cooking activities. However, the operator, who incidentally speaks very good German, cannot be blamed for this. The store's range was limited to the bare essentials and the site is on a slight slope, so you have a beautiful view of the Cliffs of Moher and the sea from almost every pitch. There is a small harbor in the immediate vicinity (two minutes walk) from where you can take boat trips to the cliffs and some islands. A dolphin also "lives" in this bay and regularly comes into the harbor basin. It takes about 15 minutes by car to get to the Cliff's visitor center. If we ever visit the island again, this place is a must.Automatiskt översatt.
- Yannick C.May 2012Good welcome. Sanitary facilities very clean, complete equipment but showers, kitchen, electricity not included. 17 € for a 2-person coach. 18 km round-trip hikes to the Cliffs of Moher underway, partially usable despite the "should not be used..." sign.Automatiskt översatt.
- Yvonne W.June 2011The course is laid out in terraces so that you can see the sea and the impressive cliffs of Moher from every level. The pitches look a bit like an airstrip. Rather boring design. Very windy site with no trees or flowers. All motorhome and caravan pitches have electricity and water connections. The sanitary... facilities are clean and large (showers and hot water are extra). The laundry room is large and clean. There is wifi. 1min. walk to the sea. The reception was not exactly affordable but friendly. The store has a very small offer.Automatiskt översatt.
- Philipp S.June 2011Beautiful and very clean site. The sanitary and kitchen facilities are beautiful and spacious. The site is very exposed to the wind and it is difficult to find a lee.Automatiskt översatt.
- Anna-Maria G.June 2010Sanitary facilities obviously extended and renovated since the last entries. Now downright gigantic. Tires no longer slide on the grass, as everything is paved where cars drive or stand. Very nice location by the sea near the cliffs. Somewhat bare. Not a single bush or shrub on the grounds. Kitchen with coin operated gas stoves with no seating.Automatiskt översatt.
