- Anja B.June 2024PositivaVery friendly staff Clean washroom Good, free W LAN Pool and restaurant on siteNegativaDaily sound system from the pool Proximity to the street and the hospitalGreat campsite close to the cityChecking in was a bit chaotic. We were allocated a seat and when we wanted to move into it, it was already occupied. So we went back to reception and were allocated a new place. In the afternoon, a couple came to us and explained that our place had been allocated to them. Long story short, as there was... no other pitch available, the couple joined us on our pitch for one night and moved into their own pitch the next day.
After this confusion, we really liked it.
The wash house is cleaned several times a day and there are plenty of showers available. The staff are friendly and very eager to help.
We didn't use the pool, but it was very busy.
As the hospital is nearby, the rather loud ambulances can be heard all day (and all night).
The bus stop directly in front of the complex is great, from where you can easily get to the metro and then into the cityAutomatiskt översatt. - eckhard l.April 2024PositivaEasily accessible. Sufficiently spacious seats. Friendly staff.NegativaTraffic noise. Nearby hospital leads to almost constant ambulance rides with horn. Sanitary facilities partly defective.Good for a visit to RomeGood base for visiting Rome and staying for several days. We rode our motorcycle to St. Peter's Basilica in about 20 minutes. Buses leave from in front of the site.
The sanitary facilities could be better maintained. For example, some taps were broken and had not been repaired within a week. In addition,... some of the clothes hooks in the showers were torn off or the door lock was defective and had also not been repaired within a week.
The grounds are laid out with lots of greenery and this is regularly cut (often from 8:00 in the morning).
The staff are friendly and provide information. The store on site is well stocked.Automatiskt översatt. - Sebastian H.October 2022PositivaProximity to city Connection to public transport LocationNegativaSanitary facilities (men)Camping in TownThe campsite, consisting mainly of fixed bungalows/mobile homes, is close to the city center and very well connected by public transport to all the sights in Rome.
Breakfast/dinner is offered on site, as well as information on excursion destinations, tours and maps for public transport. There is also... a pool with adjoining bar.
On the other side of the street there is a large grocery store and fast food restaurants.
The noise level is okay. You are in a big city, with an adjacent hospital on a main road to Rome.
The pitches are large enough to set up a trolley and table/chairs. Power supply further away in places. Fresh water supply and waste water disposal not available at the pitches.
There is a sanitary building on the site, but only the ladies' section is open. Containers with WC (5) and separate shower (6) are available for men. The men's sanitary building is closed off, there were no signs of building work/renovations and the temporary toilets have been there for some time. The cleanliness, but mainly the container solution, is below service area level. Extremely small, with no storage or hanging facilities in the showers.
I can no longer recommend this site for male campers who are dependent on the sanitary facilities.
As soon as the possible renovations are completed, this site will actually be perfect for exploring Rome.Automatiskt översatt. - Bernhard K.August 2020PositivaClose to the city, good connections, clean and well-kept, nice pool.NegativaSome traffic noise at nightIdeal campsite to explore RomeWe stayed at the campsite for 5 days with our caravan to explore Rome. This campsite is ideal for this as you can be in the Vatican in 20 minutes by bus or bike.
The campsite is well maintained and clean and has a nice pool which is open from 10am to 6pm. There is also a large supermarket opposite and... a restaurant on the campsite.
Free and fast WLAN is available throughout the campsite.
The only thing that was a bit annoying at night was the noise from the nearby roads.Automatiskt översatt. - Harry S.May 2019Good for culture and sightseeingGood campsite for exploring Rome. - reinhard k.May 2019PositivaIdeal place to explore Rome.NegativaDeparture times of the shuttle bus are not adhered to.CP ideal for visiting ROM.May 2019: Reservation worked out. Restaurant on site has unfortunately lost a lot of quality compared to 2017: food below average; in nearby steakhouse you eat much better!!! Shuttle bus: unfortunately you can't rely on the information provided by the lady at the information desk in the morning regarding... the return times, the nice lady also gives these times in writing, but if you are unlucky, you have to wait up to 1.5 hours for the shuttle bus....! The sanitary facilities are very clean; -------- May 2017: Ideal place to explore Rome. The staff are all very friendly. Everything is clean and well maintained. The pitches for campers range from small to large, with/without shade. The shuttle bus, which runs several times a day (from 08:00 every hour) for € 3.00 (there/back) directly at the campsite in the direction of the Vatican (CIPRO stadium), is very practical. The sanitary facilities are cleaned several times a day, but the many youth groups (staying in the chalets/bungalows) sometimes leave their traces behind.... and have loud parties until the early morning! You can't ignore the street noise of Via Aurelia - but you are in the middle of Rome. Restaurant on site has very good dishes and reasonable prices. Spent 6 nights on this campsite.Automatiskt översatt.
- Daniel -.July 2018PositivaCentral location, Friendliness, PoolPerfect location, very friendlyWe stayed there for 3 nights in July to explore Rome. 2 people, camper van, €42.30/night + tourist tax. The site is perfect for this! Pitches of different sizes available, you have a free choice. If you arrive at lunchtime, you have to be prepared for longer waiting times at check-in, but the staff are... generally very friendly. There are 3 ways to get to and from the city: For 1.50 you can use the public transportation for 100 minutes, stop right in front of the door, takes about 30-40 minutes, depending on your destination. For €3 you can take the shuttle bus, which leaves every half hour and takes about 15-20 minutes to get to the Vatican. But you can be unlucky and not get a seat in the morning or for the return journey. For about 20€ with Uber. We took the bus/metro in the morning and usually took an Uber back in the evening. That was the most relaxed option overall. The pool at the square is worth its weight in gold after a day of sightseeing at 35 degrees! We threw a coin into the Trevi Fountain, so we'll be back! And then definitely back to this square!Automatiskt översatt.
- Olaf T.October 2017PositivaLocation, transport connections, sanitary facilitiesNegativaNone.Ideal for a city trip to RomeConvenient location to reach by motorhome. Public transportation right next to the driveway + shuttle service to the Vatican, all great. Road audible and place is also used by many youth groups, but did not bother us. Unfortunately we hadn't tried the restaurant due to previous reviews and always ate in the city. But the food looked really good. We were very satisfied and will be back.Automatiskt översatt.
- Ulli S.September 2017PositivaEasily accessible on the outskirts, good for sightseeingNegativaStreet well audible, restaurant was not our favoriteGood place for a few days of sightseeingStaff very friendly, the Acsi card is not accepted, the pitches are on a hill, free choice of pitch, the road in front of the CP Via Aurelia can be heard quite well, shuttle bus to the Vatican, but is not really necessary, as there is a bus stop 20 m from the entrance to the CP, ticket machine for public... transport right next to the reception at the CP. We got bread rolls for breakfast from the supermarket on the opposite side of the road (crosswalk approx. 50 m from the entrance to the campsite). Dinner in the restaurant at the CP was not our favorite. Also on the opposite side of the road (near Euronics) is the Old Wild West, a burger and steakhouse where we ate very well. There is a swimming pool, but we didn't use it, it was rather small and quite full, almost overcrowded. The campsite is often booked by youth/school groups, but we didn't find it disturbing (of course there is some drinking, but there was no inconvenience). All in all, a nice place on the outskirts of the city for sightseeing. Regarding the public transport: we didn't find any useful timetables, etc. It works very well with google maps, the location and destination input and then select public transport, then you can see the different bus lines that fit. Possibly consider a larger volume for data transmission (roaming) or get a pre-paid IT prepaid card in a phone store, that's what we did.Automatiskt översatt.
- Hr. H.August 2017PositivaLocation, friendliness, sanitary facilitiesNegativaRestaurantIdeal for a visit to RomeWe were greeted at reception by the security service in a very friendly manner and by name, as we had reserved our SP in advance. The check-in was quick. We were taken to our seat with an escort. The pitches are small, but sufficient for a short trip. The campsite doesn't have a mini-market. It doesn't... need one, as there is a large supermarket on the other side of the road. Bus tickets are available at reception (which is manned until 11pm. Many a German campsite could take a leaf out of their book. Some German places could take a leaf out of their book). The bus stop is just a few meters away on the left. It took us 35 minutes to get to the Colloseum by public transport. Top! The sanitary facilities are in top condition for this size. We didn't use the pool, but it seemed a bit too small for our needs. Swimming was obviously not possible. The restaurant on site is rather poor in our experience. Broccoli casserole was cold, tomato drizzle in the salad, carbonara oversalted. WLAN free of charge, but not on site. Very friendly staff. Our stay: August 2017Automatiskt översatt.
- Patrizia V.October 2016PositivaProximity to the city centerNegativaNoneNice place, central, ideal for sightseeingThe campsite has everything except a store. But as it is so centrally located, the nearest supermarket is not far away. The staff are all very friendly, even at the end of October after a long season. Everything is clean and well-kept. The pitches for campers are large. Ideal place to explore Rome. We... were there in late fall. There were few youth groups. This can of course be different in summer. The restaurant on site has very good dishes and reasonable prices. We would recommend the campsite without reservation.Automatiskt översatt.
- Horst W.September 2016PositivaLocation, location, location!NegativaLoud, dirty sanitary facilitiesTwo days in RomeWe came without a reservation as we had fled from the bad weather on the Adriatic. We were lucky to get one of the few free pitches (early September). The location of the campsite is great for visiting Rome. But that's about it. You have to drive up a steep ramp from the reception to the pitches. At... the pitches, about 15 meters above the entrance, you have no chance of getting fresh water. You have to fill up with fresh water at the bottom - if you have a tank. The toilets are unkempt and are not kept clean. The site is dominated by youth groups, mainly from Germany. Most of them stay in multi-bed tents. This of course has an impact on the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities (more cleaning is needed) and also on the noise level at all times of the day and night. The swimming pool was ok, but unfortunately a bit dirty on the first day. It was a bit better on the second day. The food in the campsite restaurant was quite good and reasonably priced by Roman standards. The supermarket (a huge thing) can be easily reached via the pedestrian bridge (approx. 400 meters). The place is ok for a short visit to Rome, but not for longer. Pro tip: If you have bicycles with you, you can explore Rome by bike. The first 4 kilometers are not stress-free, but then it's great. Please do not enter via the new "Via Aurelia", but via the "Via Aurelia Antica". It goes off to the right just after the camp. From the Antica, take Via Garibaldi. At the "Fontana dell Aqua Paola" you have a spectacular view of Rome and have left the traffic behind you.Automatiskt översatt.
- Michaela B.July 2016Positiva- Center easy to reach - pool - very quiet in the back areaNegativa- No minimarket for basic suppliesVery good for sightseeingIf you want to visit Rome, you're certainly not badly served here. Bus stop right in front of the camp, you can also take a shuttle bus. After sightseeing, a dip in the pool was great. The campsite is actually quite quiet at the back. The price was high for what was on offer. What really bothered us... was the lack of a minimarket and the fact that we weren't told this when we booked. A vacation without a decent breakfast - that makes me uncomfortable. But if you know about it, you can stock up on time in the shopping center across the street - you just have to know about it.Automatiskt översatt.
- Stefan B.June 2016PositivaClose to the city, central and relaxing at the same time!NegativaWhen youth groups are there, it can get loud and violent!Ideal for Rome ...Good location about 3km from the Vatican! There is a shuttle bus (several times a day free of charge to the Vatican and back) and a metro shuttle. The pitches range from small to huge; some are shady. You can hardly hear the street noise of Via Aurelia. The restaurant was average. There is a large supermarket... opposite, easily accessible via a bridge. The pool was well maintained and clean. Sanitary was nice and clean. The large disabled bathroom was well equipped with shower and toilet, but unfortunately was not cleaned in the 4 days! During our stay there were hardly any youth groups, it was relatively quiet!Automatiskt översatt.

- Achim S.June 2015PositivaGood connections to the city, the Cp's own Vatican shuttle is more convenient than the bus after the pedestrian bridge was closed.NegativaConversion of the Cp into a Plushostels backpacker meeting point with more individual travelers instead of supervised young people. Sanitary facilities more unkempt. Now being promoted as a backpackers' meeting point. Fewer camper van pitches.Revised and supplemented: After our first visit in October 2013, we purposefully returned this year to the site we had experienced and rated so positively. Unfortunately, our experience of the campsite has now deteriorated. The new operator "Plushostels" (see website) is now promoting the Cp as "the"... backpacker meeting place in Rome. As a result, there are many more young people than before, including many cheap individual travelers in addition to the supervised youth groups. The previously so clean sanitary facilities are unfortunately much dirtier, toilet doors are sprayed and scribbled on, all hairdryers were broken. Due to a large new high-rise development next to the campsite, the pool was reduced in size and straightened into a rectangle next to the first sanitary building, so several motorhome pitches were no longer available. x--x--x The formerly (only) unkempt footbridge is no longer available, the stairs at the Cp have been removed. To get to the other side of the road, a footpath has been marked out over the road bridge further away and separated from the busy road by posts. This makes the walk back from the bus stop to the Cp considerably longer, as does the walk to the Panoramio department store opposite (with good breakfast rolls, for example). x--x--x Furthermore, the cooperation with the ADAC CampingCard has been terminated and there is no longer a special price for the early and late season. x--x--x Despite all the deterioration, we still see Cp Roma as a good place to stay for a visit to Rome, we will see how this develops in the future. x--x--x One more note: When I got off the bus, I was unfortunately robbed by Roma (nomen est omen), my wallet with money and all my papers disappeared never to be seen again in a mothers-with-babies-and-toddlers group, which are now common in Rome. On the way, I witnessed another theft in which Japanese tourists had their empty wallets thrown into the car in the subway station - how nice. My wallet remained missing and unfortunately it is not very easy to get the necessary "Denuncia de Robo/loss report" from a Roman police station. Accordingly, begging Roma (sorry) should also be turned away, they are not really interested in the €1, they just want to know where the wallet is. Too bad and sad. x--x--x Review October 2013: We really liked the campsite. We will definitely be back. The sanitary facilities are top notch, even in Germany it's only that good at top campsites, even with toilet paper. The only drawback in the sanitary area: toilets and showers are wall to wall and open at the top, an extra room would be better. And there is only one single wash cubicle in the men's area. Oh yes, there is also no hand dryer, so some people just use hair dryers with a long hose. xxx The pitches are all separated by hedges. Gravel or paved (open all year round). Some are very shady, but there are also sunny pitches, depending on requirements and the time of year. xxx Internet with WLAN is free, you get an individual number. Best reception only in the PC room, somewhat unstable on the pitches directly above. xxx Many young people live in the large bungalow village, Rome attracts many school classes. Disco almost daily in the evening, but not excessively loud outside. The Via Aurelia was also quieter than expected. The construction site was really loud in the morning, but that will be over by now. xxx Electricity is 16A, which must be enough, no access to the fuses. xxx The supermarket on the campsite is well stocked, including T-shirts, rain ponchos and postcards. The stamps are only valid for private special post, these postcards were the last to arrive with the recipients. And the bread rolls taste terrible, but you don't want to go that far in the morning. xxx Opposite the Cp is a large supermarket, similar to Real or Globus. With better bread rolls and lots of other things for bulk purchases. xxx You can get into the city quickly and easily by bus and subway, and you can also use the Cp direct shuttle to the Vatican. xxx As I said at the beginning, we will definitely be back.Automatiskt översatt.
