- Lysann E.August 2024Olumlu yanlarıLarge plots, no entertainment, well-kept beach area, peace and quietOlumsuz yanlarıCar must be partially parked outsideWell maintained, idyllic and quietThe atmosphere on Dugi Otok is something very special and the Mandarino campsite puts the icing on the cake. The site is laid out in terraces due to the slope down to the sea. Even the uppermost pitches along the road are very quiet due to the very manageable road traffic, not far from the sea and some... with a sea view. We were lucky enough to have a very shady pitch, but some are very exposed to the sun. As we had a smaller pitch, we had to park the car on the road above the campsite, but were able to drive in to put up and take down our tent. The fine gravel beach has small jetties for boats and bathing, the water is crystal clear and not wavy due to its location in a deep bay - ideal for children. The campsite was a real adventure for them: there were countless sea cucumbers, hermit crabs, fish and praying mantises. The playground is well maintained and offers a number of attractions. The restaurant is right by the sea, but we weren't convinced. At first we missed the warmth that the rest of the campsite exudes, but the food wasn't that great either. The small camping store at reception was great by Dugi Otok standards - fresh pastries, fresh fruit and vegetables, everything you need. The staff speak English and are very helpful and friendly. The sanitary facilities are constantly cleaned, but sometimes reached their capacity limits. At one point there was some quality klapa music coming from Veli Rat - otherwise you only hear circuses and nothing else, wonderful! The famous Sakarun beach is within walking distance via the road (littered stone beach, sand in the sea and turquoise water). We really liked it at Camp Mandarino!Otomatik olarak çevrildi.
- Richard S.May 2024Olumlu yanlarıCleanliness, amenities, peace and privacy on the plots.Olumsuz yanlarıI didn't find it.Really great camp.A beautiful place on a beautiful island. Crystal clear sea. - Alexander W.August 2022Olumlu yanlarıVery quiet, right by the sea, very clean, good for boat owners, very suitable for surfing kayaking snorkeling very good for dog ownersOlumsuz yanlarıThere is only one disadvantage: the site is laid out according to the natural features of the island (pitches are terraced) and there are gradients of approx. 22% to overcome, which is not easy for everyone! WW without mover very difficult larger WW best only upper places!A little paradiseA dream ***** on an island with wonderful views of the sea in all directions.
The place is very nice and an oasis of peace. Of course there are children but the place is so quiet that I have never experienced anything like it. The sanitary facilities are always clean and a lot is done for it, there are... also family showers where everything is inside what a family needs from changing table to toilet, the reception / small market in one has everything you need for daily needs (on the island there is only one larger supermarket in Sali) you should get various things on the mainland. There is a small konoba on the campsite but it closes very early like many things on the island. There are some konobas / restaurants in the immediate vicinity that can also be reached on foot (ask Google). The beach Sakarun which is not far from the campsite is not worth the effort, the beach at the campsite is 1000 times better and clean.
The staff is always nice and helpful and eager to help.
At the Paltz you can rent e-cars and motorboats as well as kayaks and e-bikes! The location on the bay is beautiful and ideal for swimming. The whole campsite is very quiet and well maintained. In particular, the sanitary buildings were very clean at all times. Due to the terraced layout... of the pitches, all pitches actually have a sea view, although some experience is required when parking. However, it was a pity that the range of products in the store at the campsite was very limited and there are also few shopping opportunities in the surrounding area.Otomatik olarak çevrildi. - Markus K.August 2021Olumlu yanlarıLocation, pitches with sea view, direct access to the sea, market in the square has the most necessary, especially bread, romantic sunsets in the sea in the bay "Spiaggia Lopata", water connection at the place half-inchOlumsuz yanlarıMany pitches not shaded, there are no large stretches of sandy beach, shoes necessary for swimming, WLAN only in the restaurant, no fun & games for older children, no sports fields, supply of "fresh" food is not always available, island is very hilly and difficult to explore by bike, rental car 80 € per dayFantastic, quiet location, no animationThe site is beautifully situated in a bay, right by the sea. The lower pitches all have sea views, even if they are sometimes only small sections. There are several direct access points to the sea. The bay can be used 100% by the guests (e.g. swimming, diving, snorkeling, surfing, SUP, boats, air mattress,... etc.). The market in the square has the essentials, especially bread. There is a much better equipped market in Verunic. You can see a very romantic sunset into the sea from the bay "Spiaggia Lopata" 1 km away (behind Beach Sakarun). The water connection at the pitch was half-inch and very short.
Most of the pitches are not shaded. There are no large stretches of sandy beach. You need shoes for swimming. WLAN only in the restaurant. There is a lack of fun and games for older children. There are no sports fields. The supply of "fresh" food is not always available. There are larger supermarkets in Zadar where you can get enough food before the crossing. On the island there is only a larger Tommy supermarket in Sali. The island is very hilly and therefore not very suitable for the average cyclist. A rental car cost €80 per day.Otomatik olarak çevrildi. - Steffen L.August 2019Olumlu yanlarıLocation, peace, cleanliness, seaOlumsuz yanlarıSearched every day for 2 weeks, found none. :-)Gladly come againWe spent 2 very nice vacation weeks on the site. The arrival by ferry was a small highlight (loading went smoothly). Due to the terraced location of the campsite, the access roads are relatively steep. However, with our camper van measuring 7.90 m in length and 2.50 m in width, we still had no problems... on the approach or departure. We did not get stuck. It is not a problem if you are careful. The location is magnificent. Very nice view of the bay in front of the site, crystal clear water, calm sea and therefore ideal for SUP and other water activities. (Although there were boats anchored in the bay every night, there was no noise pollution at all). In general, the campsite is very, very quiet, both during the day and at night. The restaurant is right on the bay with a beautiful view. We were satisfied with the selection, the taste and the price. Bread rolls can be bought without pre-ordering. Even if, as some have already written here, there was a little congestion in the showers, I don't see this as a problem. (showers were always free before or after the "peak times"). An extension of the sanitary facilities is probably being planned. We felt completely at ease and were able to really relax. We will be back againOtomatik olarak çevrildi.
- Nadine D.July 2019Olumlu yanlarıGreat location, wonderful islandOlumsuz yanlarıActually none...we knew about the limited shopping opportunities beforehandA paradisiacal campsiteWonderful campsite in a beautiful bay. Clean sanitary facilities (could do with a few more toilets and showers), friendly staff, great pitches with a view of the sea, top restaurant on site and ok price, supermarket with everything you need. Possibility to try out subs, kayaking, etc. Great island, but the highlights are very crowded. Sakarun was disappointing, but Veli Sal was all the better. Ferry crossing uncomplicated.Otomatik olarak çevrildi.
- Hartwig E.May 2019Olumlu yanlarıGreat location, friendly operators, well-kept campsite beachOlumsuz yanlarıUnfortunately, garbage, plastic and other garbage everywhere else on the beachesThis campsite deserves all the stars it can getThis campsite deserves all the stars it can get! Toilets and sanitary facilities were always spotlessly clean and the provision of essentials in the small grocery store is good due to the island. The beach in front of the C.P. is excellently maintained and easily accessible for everyone. There are plenty... of opportunities for water sports in the bay (including a shipwreck at snorkeling depth). Unfortunately, this is also the end of the island's beauty. On the nearby "most beautiful beach" Sakarun and unfortunately also on the whole island, garbage and abandoned beach bars, discarded building materials and much more are the rule rather than the exception. This means that this beautiful island is dead for us.Otomatik olarak çevrildi.
- Peter K.September 2018Olumlu yanlarıGreat location, everything clean, quiet except for .....Olumsuz yanlarıMosquitoes in the evening; loud charter crews anchored in the bay, often drunkenly roaring aroundParadise with minor restrictionsGreat place. We had a reservation and were right by the water with plenty of shade and an unobstructed view of the beautiful bay, the water was crystal clear and warm and you can swim and snorkel 15m from your pitch. We also rented a boat at the campsite and went for a drive. You can also discover beautiful places and beaches. You should do your shopping on the mainland beforehand to avoid any shortages.Otomatik olarak çevrildi.
- Tom F.August 2018Olumlu yanlarırestaurantBest camping site i've ever been in Croatiathis is the place to relax!! very good restaurant. beaches are close to the camping sites. you can spend your time here for around 1 week, longer than this and maybe you will get bored
- stefanie r.August 2018Olumlu yanlarıSnorkeling, SUP riding, feeling goodOlumsuz yanlarıShopping facilitiesSnorkeling and SUP paradiseWe felt very comfortable. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is not much shade on the pitch. The sea is clear, very clean and good for snorkeling. You can relax quite well. - Shortcoming: Shopping facilities. As already mentioned here several times, be sure to stock up on the essentials in Zadar.... And: make sure you book in advance in July/August. The camp was very full and several campers had to be turned away. But overall a very pleasant location for Croatia. Ideal for SUP beginners to practise. Overall, however, the sea was a little too calm for us.Otomatik olarak çevrildi.
- Alexandra H.August 2017Olumlu yanlarıQuiet, Close to nature, ViewOlumsuz yanlarıLarge crowds in the showers at peak times in AugustGreat vacationWe were there in 2017 and had a wonderful time. The pitches are not very big and you have to maneuver well with the caravan, but once you've found your spot, you can relax and unwind. The children were very happy there as there are no waves in the bay. You can snorkel on a small, sunken sailing boat... with the children and the food in the restaurant is very tasty. The chef baked a wonderful cake for my son's birthday. The campsite is not cheap, but it's worth it!Otomatik olarak çevrildi.
- Monika G.August 2017Olumlu yanlarıGreat island, swimming opportunities everywhereOlumsuz yanlarıToo full, cleanliness, noise in the morning from 4 amIt was nice, but...The campsite was already fully booked in March and thanks to Veronika's help, we managed to get a larger pitch for our large tent. The site has a great location on the island and it's simply beautiful there. But: the campsite was "packed" to the last square meter. It's more about turnover than the well-being... of the campers, who really don't pay very little. There really are pitches that were no bigger than 20m². Somehow it seemed that existing pitches were being reduced in size at will in order to accommodate as many campers as possible. Of course, without lowering the prices for the really small "spit holes". More people, the same small sanitary facilities. 3 toilets per gender, 3 showers, with approx. 150 - 180 campers. Cleanliness is also difficult. Dogs have to pay, for what? (There are no dog walking bags). Privacy is difficult because of the small pitches, tent to tent, snacker to snacker. Shade is rather sparse. Unfortunately, we also often saw campers taking down their tents at 4 am (!) in order to be at the first ferry at 6 am. Is that really necessary? Shopping possible at the campsite, but more expensive than in neighboring Veronic. Swimming at the campsite is very nice, or anywhere else in the bays. Unfortunately, the sandy bay is very crowded, but great for children.Otomatik olarak çevrildi.
- Radovan B.July 2017Olumlu yanlarıOn the plots water, electricity and waste. Beautifully graded plots and pleasant greenery. Peace and quiet.Olumsuz yanlarıI didn't see any shortcomingsBeautiful, quiet campsite in the bayWe visited the campsite in early July 2017, we were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness , newness and helpfulness of the staff. Already at this time the weather was great and the sea was warm. Most of all we liked the peace and quiet throughout the campsite. We will definitely come back here again.Otomatik olarak çevrildi.
- debi m.June 2017Olumlu yanlarıQuiet Pitches LocationOlumsuz yanlarıRestaurant partly expensiveBeautiful, quiet campsiteWe stayed at Camping Mandarino in June. Great place, beautifully situated and nice pitches with water and electricity. - Johannes S.June 2017Olumlu yanlarıGreat beach, great seaOlumsuz yanlarıNo major supermarket on the islandVery nice, quiet campsite with a small downerVery nice staff, beautiful beach (not sand as indicated), but gravel. - Hannes S.September 2016Olumlu yanlarıNew, perfect place. Quiet. Friendly. Clean. Beautiful beach. Clear water.Olumsuz yanlarıOnly accessible by ferryDream vacation in autumn 2016The place is new. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. All pitches are laid out in terraces, so all pitches have a view of the sea. The restaurant is very good. Very good opportunity for swimming. It is a 10-minute walk to the famous Sakarun beach and the island itself is very quiet as it is sparsely populated.Otomatik olarak çevrildi.
- Matthias P.September 2016Olumlu yanlarıBeach, friendliness of the staff, tranquillity, design of the complexParadise...... There is no other way to describe this island and the campsite can be "elevated" to this category without reservation. The friendliness and efforts of the staff are second to none, the terraced pitches give you a good view of the bay with its fabulous water and after a short walk or bike ride you... are on the sandy beach or in the evening in a nice konoba. Apart from that, the campsite's own restaurant is also recommendable and the seating is very nice... As much as the owners are to be congratulated on their success, one wishes that such gems would retain their charm. Reservations are highly recommended...Otomatik olarak çevrildi.
- Christopher K.August 2016Olumlu yanları- quiet location - Facilities - SurroundingsOlumsuz yanları- Little infrastructure in the immediate vicinity - poor / expensive supplyWonderful vacation in summer 2016We don't really want to give it a positive rating, so that the campsite remains as beautiful and clear as it is for a long time to come. The journey to Dugi Otok is done by ferry from Zadar in 1 1/2 hours, then you have to drive a good half hour across the island to Camp Mandarino. The nice thing about... Dugi Otok is that it is not very touristy here, even in the high season. The campsite itself is brand new and well thought out. The Czech owners have really chosen a beautiful spot and created a great campsite. The atmosphere on the site is always very quiet and relaxed - the small bay in which the site is located is simply beautiful with wonderfully clear water. The pitches are not huge, but big enough. We were traveling with friends and could comfortably park 2 VW Bullis on one pitch. The sanitary facilities are new, well maintained and rarely overcrowded in the high season. The prices on the whole island are relatively high - this is partly due to the fact that everything has to be delivered by boat. Overnight prices on the campsite are therefore rather high, and the small store in the reception building is really expensive. Everyday items such as water or spread are really expensive. The small stores on the island don't really help either. It's best to stock up generously on the mainland and only buy the essentials on the island. The restaurant on the camp is great, they serve great dishes of excellent quality - but you can see that in the prices. There are several small restaurants within walking distance of the campsite, none of which are significantly cheaper. I think you have to be prepared to pay this price for the peace and quiet away from mass tourism. Unfortunately, we were hit by two violent summer storms in August, which were really bad for many of our neighbors with tents. Several tents and items of clothing flew around during the night and many families had to leave the next morning completely soaked. We had never experienced this before in Croatia. However, the campsite staff took good care of all the guests the next morning and were also accommodating and flexible when it came to early departures. Conclusion: If we are really looking for peace and quiet again and don't feel the need for promenades or other tourist attractions, we will definitely go back to Dugi Otok to Camp Mandarino!Otomatik olarak çevrildi.
