- Christoph M.July 2019Olumlu yanlarıCamping in the dunes under pine trees. Long sandy beach within walking distance, partly supervised. A paradise for water sports enthusiastsOlumsuz yanlarıOnly a few pitches for caravans, so reservation recommended in high season.Under the pine trees in the dunes of Carcans PlageWe stayed at this site for two weeks with a caravan in the high season. ##### Tents ##### The pitches for the tents are mainly located in the dunes under pine trees in partial shade. ##### WoMos ##### A former parking lot has been converted into a harbour for WoMos. The pitches vary in size, as do the... crowds. ##### Caravans ##### There are only a few pitches for caravans in the pine forest. #### The site #### The site is located in the pine forest in the dunes of Carcans Plage. The sanitary facilities - unisex - were in good condition and were cleaned 3 times a day. The service at the Accueil was friendly, professional and multilingual. ##### Location ##### Best conditions for a beach vacation. There are about half a dozen surf camps for young people right next to the campsite. The beach at Carcans Plage is only a 10-minute walk away and is partially supervised. Those looking for peace and quiet will find a spot on the never-ending beach. This is what a camping friend writes.Otomatik olarak çevrildi.
- Rainer S.July 2019Olumlu yanlarıDirectly by the sea Lively and secluded sandy beaches Semi-shaded & natural Relatively few dogs Cycling easily possibleOlumsuz yanlarıNo pool No restaurant on site Limited number of spaces for caravansValuation 2013 & 2019Review 2013 Hello, I have just read through the reviews. Here is my experience. We have been camping on the French Atlantic coast every year for 20 years now. Atlantic coast for 20 years now and have seen one or two sites. We spent three and a half weeks on the site in July 2012 and 2013. Have booked... for 2014. We think the campsite is good. We are looking for a quiet place where you don't need a car to get to the beach and which doesn't have a poll etc., because our children haven't been going with us for a long time - we don't need it and ultimately have to pay for it. However, I try to give as objective a report as possible for as many people as possible. Location: As already described several times, the campsite is right by the sea. (approx. 500 meters on foot, which is TOP and very rare) there is nothing less on the Atlantic. The location is absolutely quiet. Approx. 200 meters from the campsite there is a "well in summer village" as often in France - Cancans Plage. Cancans Village is the real place. Cancans plage is a summer tourist resort. Place The place consists in the center of a flat part. This is where most of the caravans are parked, followed by a terraced slope. This is where the tents are pitched. Each tent has its own terrace or row of terraces. This creates a very nice visual impression, especially when it gets dark. The Womo sanitary facilities are in a separate part of the site. But I've seen newer ones that were much dirtier. At least in July it was always ok. But if you want modern toilets, you should have a look at yellohvillage. There is a place in Lacanau that is as clean as a whistle. I don't think it gives you that camping feeling any more. But everyone has different requirements. So if you are traveling in this direction, Camping L'ocean is not the place for you. Yes HMK9, male and female mixed. That's fun. It's silly if your partner goes there and I go here. At least that's what we think. Calculation HMK9 has ever made very negative comments. So ok, it's a bit chaotic sometimes, but so far we've been able to talk about everything. It's an urban space. Young, presumably female students run the office and there's a bit of back and forth. But it's friendly. I think that's why the place is relatively cheap. We've already been to places run by the "yellohvillage" group. That's a completely different number and probably just right for HMK9. More entrepreneurially managed leisure facilities. Leads me to leisure facilities Beach As written, the beach is 500 meters away. It is very crowded directly at this crossing from mid-July. Especially in the guarded zone. But if you go further it gets quieter and quieter. And you can go 20 kilometers further, because only then comes the next village. This is really something special and if you are looking for solitude, this is the place to be. If you cycle in the direction of Hurtin (the road is closed to cars in summer, so it's great for cycling), there are stretches of road that lead to the beach mentioned above. Here you have a few people at the transition and then you are pretty much on your own. I have not found anything similar so far. The sand is rated 2-3 and is not as fine as, for example, at the Dune de pyla. But the much longer beach makes up for it. It should be noted that the beach is dangerous. Only professionals or surfers should swim outside the bathing areas. I learned that they lie with their boards above the current. However, this is misleading. You think you can go in there too. We had to witness a fatal accident and that's why it's important to me. Surfing Surfing is the big thing there. All day long, surfers walk barefoot from the square to the beach and back with their straps folded down and boards under their arms. Many schools offer courses. There are about 3-4 surf camps in a separate zone on the site. So far we haven't had any noise pollution, but I'm told it used to be like that. Cycling I can't agree with HMK9 here either. For me, there is a cycle path to Maubuisson. OK, it goes over hills, but it's better than 5 meters next to the wide road. A trip to Lac d'Hourtin is worthwhile because, as is often the case at these lakes, the water is still 80 cm deep after 500 meters and correspondingly warm. Good for small children or for those who have had enough of strong waves. As already described, the road from Carcans plage to Hurtin is closed to cars in summer. So you can drive a super nice 20 km here. The same to the south. A tour to Lacanau is very nice. Length about 20 kilometers because of the dunes easy but it should be mentioned that it is constantly uphill downhill. You should know that. Lacanau is then a nice change with more life and I like to drive back to the "Einöd". It should be mentioned that there is also a direct flat path to Lacanau. It is a concrete path about 60 centimeters wide. It belonged to the "Westwall". Well, very inglorious. And the path is simply too narrow for cycling, especially as there is often no earth on the sides. As a frequent cyclist, I find such an offer very incomprehensible - very dangerous. The village of Ja Carcans Plage is quite nice. The restaurants are a bit pricey, just take seasonal business with you and then close down. If you want to eat really good French food, you should go to Lacanau. But the bakery, butcher and supermarket are good and it's fun to cycle the 500 meters there. In the evening we have ice cream and a group performs almost every evening. About every 10 days there is a circus with white tigers. Really a motz part, you wouldn't believe it. So there is also something for children and young people, but of course not comparable to a club-like place. In short, if you are looking for more of a facility, you will be disappointed. If you are looking for a place that has little to offer compared to today's club level, but is close to the sea, So, I hope I could give some help September 2019 So, in July 2013 I had written a review. Son 6 years later I would like to add to it. We have now spent five more summers at this campsite. Essentially, what I wrote in July 2013 still applies. What is new is that parts of the central square had to be redesigned. The trees fell victim to the storm. There are now something like fixed tents in a safari look on this square. Such tents can now be found on many other campsites. In terms of price, they are somewhere between the tents and the massive huts that are also available in Carcans Plage. Like the other campers, you have to wash up and use the toilet at the toilet block. All the people I have met who have rented such a tent have been very satisfied and in the pre-season there are often young parents at meetings. Personally, I think these tents are a very good alternative to camping in terms of cost. . Just have a look at the homepage. Otherwise, the site is still exactly the place we like. It is our fix. And in the spring or fall we also go on another vacation. So much for my additions.Otomatik olarak çevrildi.
- Ulf D.July 2017in the pine forest and very close to the beachSpacious site, large, mostly semi-shaded pitches, approx. 300m from the beach, good and clean sanitary facilities, friendly reception, small supermarket on the site, other amenities within walking distance, 6A electricity, WIFI near the reception (but very slow); extensive network of paths for cycling starts directly at the site; only disadvantage: you have to decide how long you want to stay when you check in and pay immediately...Otomatik olarak çevrildi.
- Carla B.August 2016Olumlu yanlarıBeautifully laid out site, large pitches and reasonably shady under pine trees; clean and friendly serviceOlumsuz yanlarısometimes too loud at night when the youth groups party on the pitch; our wash house was definitely too smallBeautifully laid out site, large pitches, close to the beach!Huge advantages: Proximity to the beach and quite large pitches, some of which are nicely laid out as terraces. Extra pitch section for motorhomes. Nice to be able to stroll comfortably to the beach in flip-flops. You live in the sand and there is quite a lot of dust on the pitch. Although the pine trees... are not very dense, we always found a place to sit in the shade. The wash house was clean! I've already read negative comments about this and would like to emphasize that the cleanliness was good (toilets, showers and washbasins - and I'm rather picky about that. The toilets stank of urine (stone?) at first, but after a high-pressure cleaner this was much better). It was also cleaned thoroughly two or even three times a day (the young man who cleans with a walkman could slam the doors a little more quietly between 6 and 7 in the morning when he has finished something...). However, the wash house was far too small in August when it was at full capacity. There are several on the site and I can only report on "ours". It's just no fun when you're standing in line in front of the toilets in the morning, 5-6 people in front of you and it stinks because everyone is just.... The washbasins were also always full, as were the sinks and so on. You could add something there. The car is not parked directly on the pitch, which of course has advantages (you don't feel like you're at a highway rest area), but we still found it impractical because we sometimes used the car as a cupboard (especially because the weather was mixed). There are several providers on the site who entertain groups of young people who mainly come to surf. Some of them make an incredible racket with really loud music. We were lucky enough to camp quite far away from the worst noise producers. The others were ok. I would have complained if I'd had to camp next to them. I think partying from time to time etc. is totally ok, but music at full volume regularly in the morning is perhaps not necessary. In general, it's becoming more and more common that people can't sit comfortably on their own pitch without music, even from their own sources, nor can they wash the dishes, for example. But that's not the site's fault (although the operators could perhaps curb this somewhat by kindly pointing out that not everyone might like to hear it). The beach was very crowded at the beach entrances, but fortunately most people didn't seem to mind. We always walked 5-10 minutes north and were then out of the "towel to towel zone". The supervised sections of beach where swimming was allowed (usually only one) were tiny and we never went in there - there were so many people crowded in the water that we preferred to swim in the unsupervised area, but only ever up to our waists in the water and never alone (swimming is generally dangerous because of the undercurrents!!). Because there are almost always waves, the beach is a real surfer's paradise. There is little else to do. In my opinion, you can't cycle well in the little wood behind the dunes because the path is often sandy. Walking is also difficult for the same reason (deep sand is a difficult surface). The village is not really a village, but a collection of vacation homes and tourist supply stalls, certainly uninhabited in winter. But quite pretty. You can eat there well and even quite cheaply - but you can't eat French there ;-) Oh yes: there is WLAN on the square. Theoretically. But it's super slow - and of course there are hordes of young people sitting in front of reception around the clock and blocking the line. Most of the time I couldn't even check my emails, let alone surf the internet. You can forget it. The campsite probably won't get a better line because it would be the only customer in this street. Roaming charges will be abolished from June 2017 :-) I had imagined the site to be less full, but well, of course it was full vacation season. Depending on which pitch you get, there can be quite a lot of foot traffic (some people like it, we don't). It's quieter on the outskirts. However, you can also have the misfortune of "living" on the road and there is a lot going on with day visitors arriving and departing. We found having to pay a good 28 euros a day for two people (tent, car, electricity) rather excessive in view of the overcrowded wash house, the noise level (from the groups) and the virtually non-existent WiFi. The mini store on the campsite has pharmacy prices, but the small supermarket in the village is ok. All in all, a nice place.Otomatik olarak çevrildi.

The planner of the sanitary building has probably not heard that campers wash their dishes and cutlery, somehow the planning was extremely bad...the beach is quickly reached and infinitely beautiful, some nocturnal disturbances less...Otomatik olarak çevrildi.

- Hans-Joachim S.July 2014Super locationGreat campsite in a great location right on the ocean (approx. 400m). Under municipal management but very well run. Only campers, no rental caravans (great!!) Ideal for campers who want sun, beach and pine trees and can do without entertainment. Natural pitches under pine trees. It's been a long time since I've seen such a beautiful, unspoilt campsite. - Helge K.July 2013We spent the last three weeks with our caravan at the municipal campsite. First they reserved the wrong pitches for us, which were much smaller and where we only managed to park our caravan by hook or by crook (and that after a 1300km drive...). Then we were charged twice for a car, which caused the... bill to skyrocket. Overall very chaotic organization. Have heard these problems from several campers who, for example, were charged over €80 extra for an additional tent that was actually free for 11 nights etc... We now paid a whole €39 for 2 people + dog + caravan, which must be described as clearly overpriced compared to what the site offers. Not divided by gender. For our part of the site (motorhome pitches) only two toilets and two flushing areas... Showers ok. The cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired, so only 16-year-olds with mop mobs were sent through once a day. I would have liked a more "professional" cleaning staff. || You will search in vain for a restaurant. There is only an improvised shop. That's it... The small village of Carans-Plage is very pretty and worth an evening stroll. I can recommend Les Mouettes here! || Apart from that, the campsite has nothing to offer in terms of leisure time -> no pool and hardly any play facilities for children. You can really just stand there and relax. Families looking for entertainment should perhaps visit the campsite in Hourtin-Plage. One negative aspect was the high volume on the large part of the campsite, where surf camps and youth groups turn up the bass until late at night. Otherwise, good security staff with regular appearances by the gendarmerie. || The location of the CP is fantastic. 400m to the beach and approx. 2km to the highly recommended Lac d`Hourtin. Bicycles are not really worthwhile in my opinion, as the main road to Maubuisson (beautiful little tourist village!) has no cycle path and you otherwise have to cycle through very hilly forest terrain. || Conclusion: Bad CP in a great location. A real shame, as the surroundings would have deserved a second vacation!Otomatik olarak çevrildi.
- Michael T.June 2012Large municipal campsite in a perfect location close to the beach. Separate motorhome area with asphalted pitches, water and electricity connections (water only portable). Approx. 300-400 meters to the beach. In the "village": approx. 5 restaurants, small store, snacks etc. Limited wash house capacity... in low season. Youth groups and surf camps, sometimes noisy (certainly worse in high season...). From the beginning of July there is also a store on the site (bakery in the village is better). 2 camper van disposal sites. However, prices are very high (June: >26€, July >27€). But "almost" ok because of the proximity to the beach.Otomatik olarak çevrildi.
