Sheltered from the wind by high vegetation. Great as a starting point for cycling tours. But the high dyke and the locks also appeal to walkers. Delfzijl is not far away with its nice town center. Swimming is possible in the shallow water at high tide, but not a hit (shallow, murky, warm). - Henning L.Temmuz 2017A nice weekend...The first thing you notice is that all the people you meet here are absolutely helpful and super nice. Registration is in the site's own pub, which we only discovered after searching. The pitches are grass pitches with occasional trees and can be chosen freely. The sanitary facilities are containers... with GRP interiors in, to put it kindly, a clearly improvable condition. Due to the disproportionately high number of permanent campers/mobile homes, the site is very quiet. The beach is mainly a grassy dyke. White sand has been piled up in one area. There are no bread rolls here on Sundays! The tip from reception turned out to be the ultimate flop. We then had a brilliant breakfast at Hotel Termunterzijl. We explored the area in typical North Sea weather. There is a sandbank with seals nearby. You don't usually get this close to the little howlers. The first impression was excellent. The two sanitary containers were freshly renovated, bright and clean. Initially, only one container was open. Unfortunately, the cleanliness decreased with increasing occupancy of the site. It was... still only cleaned once a day. Unfortunately there was no shelf for shower gel. Soap and towels for cleaning after using the toilet were also missing. Even the paper roll was on the cistern. According to the owner, this was due to frequent damage or theft. The coin-operated machine (€1 for 8 minutes) in the men's shower was defective and remained so until we left. The number of toilets and showers are too few when fully occupied. We were accommodated on the motorhome site as we had initially only booked for one day. There was a lack of power sockets for all the campervans. The grass was freshly mown on our half of the pitch. However, the grass cuttings had been left lying around. We then found it in the caravan and in the sanitary facilities. The other side was correspondingly long when we left. Due to the tall trees, satellite reception is not to be expected in every place. The site was very quiet. The birds woke you up in the morning. Except for Sunday, when a permanent camper mowed his lawn at 8:30 am and then drowned out the cuckoo with the edge cutter. The reception was not always manned. However, you could reach them via an intercom at the entrance barrier. The beach was right on the pitch behind the dyke. However, swimming shoes are recommended for swimming, neighbors found broken pieces in the mud. Our conclusion: The site was more than good for a long weekend.
