Dirty disgusting and simply not recommended
I don't want to say anything about the campsite. Pictures speak more than a thousand words. I don't think the owners have done anything for 30 years.

Sanitary facilities are filthy and disgusting
Quiet but dirty and unkempt
There were two of us with a tent there in May this year. To all those who get lost there please do not take a shower or go to the toilet let alone wash your dishes there, the shower is filthy in the toilet it smells extremely of urine, the place where we campers are supposed to wash our dishes has only... cold water and really looks like the pictures of my predecessor.in my opinion it has become even worse than in the pictures. the positive thing about the place is the peace and quiet and the closeness to nature. please dear owner you have such a nice place make it clean and more appealing then we will come back.

A campsite with a heart
We were permanent campers on the site for over 20 years and felt very comfortable! The owners and the other permanent campers are very nice and helpful! Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities sometimes smell a bit (as written in the other reviews) is not due to a lack of cleanliness (it is cleaned regularly... and thoroughly) but to some campers who leave the sanitary facilities dirty and do not follow the rules! Even if we are no longer permanent campers, we will always have very fond memories of the Ölkuchenmühle, it was a very nice time and we will definitely be back !!!!!

I spent my childhood and youth there from 1981 to 1990, a very nice time, swimming in the backersee, hiking and cycling and off into the forest, the location directly on the old canal is simply fantastic, my parents are still permanent campers today, they are very happy with a beautiful, well-kept and individual pitch, but everyone is responsible for this themselves

Due to a car breakdown on our return journey, we went to the closest campsite to the garage: Ölkuchenmühle. We have never seen a dirtier, more unkempt campsite. The "sanitary facilities" stank of urine and were extremely dirty. Ancient shower curtains in the showers, the waste disposal station was an... imposition. I would never have touched a tap in the shower or at the "dishwashing area". There was also only a cold water connection at the latter. The place was so awful that we fled in a hurry the next morning. We couldn't use the shower or toilet and cleaned ourselves with mineral water in the caravan. We also made coffee and brushed our teeth with water we had brought with us. Weeds overgrow ancient caravans. In our opinion, a place like this should be closed as soon as possible.
