Too many permanent campsites
somewhat disappointing
We were there in mid-October 2024, many permanent campers had already left, so many pitches were empty, but were covered with boards, tarpaulins and other things. It just didn't look nice. Within 4 days, it was not possible to fill or even replace the soap dispensers in the women's sanitary facilities,... as some of them were defective. Unfortunately, the temperature of the showers cannot be regulated.
In addition, the whole campsite is fenced in with different fences, sometimes a board is put up. The impression is simply dingy. One day, however, 2 employees walked around and cleared the site of garbage.
The positive thing is the shopping mall, which unfortunately is not part of the square and is therefore not mentioned on their website, so you have to google until you find out what kind of stores there are. Ordering online at the Chinese restaurant worked really well and the food tasted very good.
Our conclusion: We'd rather go a little further to Vejers, Blavand, Henne Strand....this place won't be there again.
But we wish everyone who wants to have their own experience there a lot of fun.

The peace and quiet, the nature, the beach, the infrastructure.

First Camp's prices are high.
A great start
Our first campsite on our round trip, on Denmark's southern west coast. Plenty of space, great location with a short walk to the beach. Restaurants and stores are available and we found everything we needed or wanted. The prices of over 50 euros are at the upper limit.

Right on the beach. And that was it.

Very full due to the kite festival.
It's probably no different in summer.
Long distances to the sanitary facilities.
However, they were always clean.
Store is well stocked.
Food looked quite good.
I didn't try any.

Where should I start and where should I stop?
Worse every year
We come here often and every time it feels more and more run-down. The playground is unattractive. Now the fencing has been removed but the drivers drive so fast along the playground that you are afraid for your children. On request, it should be more attractive for the children. I think the fence was... needed for new borders around the bin areas because there is no money.
The washrooms are cleaner than last year, but there are no more paper towels. The dispensers have been dismantled and you can still see the dowel holes everywhere. A lot could be achieved with hygiene dispensers in the toilets.
The site is also regularly flooded by the pond when it rains. If someone got stuck, the holes were not filled in or straightened. The street lighting doesn't always work either.
WLAN only works when the course is empty.
The mini golf course is full of weeds and the fairways are full of stones. The common room has been reduced in size, the TV doesn't work and the games corner there has been moved to a wash house

The price has become more expensive without any investment in the course. Various things were mentioned, but everything was always blamed on "First Camp's specifications".

The location to the beach

Makes a neglected impression on me where profit comes first. The place is going downhill . Guests complain about garbage , dirt , poor service , catastrophic booking system , even with high occupancy toilets are locked and for hundreds of guests 5 showers ( the others are locked ) . You can tell that the owners don't care about the guest's well-being, I don't feel welcome as a guest. Now even the hand dispensers and waste baskets in the toilet have been removed, hygiene / hand washing after using the toilet is overrated anyway. The only continuity is the price increases. It used to be so nice here

I have commented on it sufficiently in the disadvantages. It seems to me that the only thing being extracted is money. I no longer feel comfortable here. It's done with our visits

the "car beach" is like a highway and the dog is not allowed to run without a leash at 6:15 in the morning

There are far more beautiful places
We wanted to stay 4 nights, but left after 2 nights. If the weather is bad, it's good for anyone traveling with a motorhome or caravan. The shopping mile and food mile next to the campsite are very touristy and, as you would expect in Denmark, very expensive. The only thing that made our trip worthwhile... was the fantastic beach. The sanitary and service buildings are as good as new, but unfortunately they are not particularly well maintained. You can tell the difference to a family-run business and chain... ! Beware, it's not worth paying extra for a dune pitch! It's a rip-off, as the beach is just around the corner (behind the dune), but everyone has to walk about 5 minutes there and cross the beach for at least 1 km to get to the water!

We were really disappointed with this place! Small dune pitches! The sanitary facilities are cleaned at most once a day and were never clean! Price not justified for what was on offer! The paths to the beach are full of dog dirt! We have dogs ourselves and simply cannot understand this! Shame on you!... There was only 1 working washing machine on the whole site! The much praised beach is a huge car parking lot and a waste of nature! Just sad! That would be something for the climate stickers!
The only positive thing is the small shopping street with restaurants, food market and great snack stand!
Never again!!!

Toilet blocks are very far apart. Many people drive across the square by car to dispose of their toilets
Great location, lots of hustle and bustle and not all that glitters is gold
A place much loved by Germans. You can tell by the guests and the stores (all speak German). The beach for those who don't know it - a dream, because you can drive onto it by car.
Back to the campsite:
The staff were super nice and in a good mood. We were positioned very far forward and had a very, very... large pitch at our disposal. The night's rest is consistently enforced here with security, but these gentlemen were also very nice. The first toilet block opposite reception was simply a disaster, as day visitors to the beach also stayed here. The other houses are all very unfavorably distributed. You have to go to the last one to dispose of the toilet cash register or even with the motorhome. As a result, everyone first drives across the entire campsite before driving back towards the exit. Too much traffic on the site!!!
If you are looking for a change from camping, you can spend some time in the stores in the public area. There is always something going on here and you can also find delicious food.
Despite its popularity, it is not THE place to be. Basically, another toilet block is still missing. The one in the middle is modern and very clean. However, a lot of campers also gather there ;)

The campsite is located directly on the dunes and offers plenty of space for short walks in the sea of dunes! It is an unmistakable light and there are incredible plays of color that make the sky and the landscape so varied and incomparably beautiful!

The pitch itself can be quite busy at times, as it is very popular and there is a lot of movement. But it's not as if you can't retreat. If you're looking for peace and quiet, you'll find it here too.
Camping in nature
The site has a unique location that could hardly be better! It offers space for relaxation, activity and inspiration! The playgrounds and sanitary facilities are always neat and clean and are constantly being adapted and modernized to meet needs! The reception and staff are very friendly and helpful! We always feel welcome and are already looking forward to the next time!

We have a seasonal pitch here, for a lot of money, but since First Camp took over the place a lot has become worse, the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired, car wash closed, hardly any German-speaking staff, although 80% Germans on the site, the staff is very overloaded because First Camp can't find any employees????? those who are there are really friendly and try hard (thank you)
we will still come back next year and try again.

Located directly behind the dunes and just a few meters from the large beach. It felt like 500 meters to the water. Sunset in the dunes is an experience! Shopping mile and small supermarket right at the entrance.

Despite the drawbacks, it was a great week. The cleaning of the sanitary facilities should definitely be improved.

Rip-off and arrogant "customer management"
We have never experienced such a rip-off before
We were recently at the campsite. Friends of ours were already there and had been able to reserve the supposedly last pitch for us. We had to pay 700 euros for 7 nights for 4 people and 1 dog on a poor standard pitch !!!! we had to pay. Our friends had to pay the amount in advance. We have been campers... for 30 years and have been to many good and expensive campsites, but 100 euros per day is exaggerated. The high price was justified by the classic car meeting that was taking place over the weekend. On Sunday evening, the spook was over and the site was very reasonably full again. We would have accepted this surcharge, but the fact that we also had to pay 100 euros per day for the rest of the time on a very well-filled pitch was very cheeky. But the best thing was that our friends didn't know that our son wasn't going with us, so we were accommodated for 7 days with just three people and a dog on a very noisy pitch right next to the reception. All complaints regarding the price were unsuccessful and were dismissed extremely arrogantly. As a result, we paid for 7 days for a person who was not on site. Defective sanitary facilities, long distances to the guardhouse etc. have already been mentioned in other reviews. Too bad, we were not used to this from Scandinavia. We will now contact First Camp again directly and report the case. Otherwise a beautifully situated site with a great beach and a nice shopping area in front of it.

Unfortunately we had to cancel due to a serious illness of my wife, accommodating the place = 0, although the place could be rented again.

Secret price increase of the basic price
Very well located place with one flaw
The site is in a good location, close to the beach, which is easily accessible by motorhome anyway.
We received a very friendly welcome.
Everything was clean, spacious and well-kept. Outside the campsite there is a small shopping area with a delicious ice cream parlor and other restaurants.
Prices per... day:
Basic price 40 DKK
2 persons 210 DKK.
Electricity is extra, but we don't need it.
250 DKK at today's exchange rate is 28.24 euros
So far so good.
But here it comes. There is another item on the bill: "Sikerhets gebyr. Ange" with another 40 DKK, which corresponds to 5.38 euros. I asked about it. The friendly employee said: "We guarded them at night". My question about how dangerous Denmark is was not answered.
If 1000 pitches each cost 5.38 euros (5380 euros in total) per night, I would like to know how many security guards were watching over me. The site was not fully booked. Even with an occupancy rate of only 50% or less, I consider this fee to be a secret basic price increase and extremely cheeky.
We will not be using this otherwise beautiful site again.
The comparative price for this pitch needs to be corrected in the app.

Obviously a change of staff, because after more than 30 years, of which the last 5 years have been multiple stays, the staff on site are far removed from the concept of service. We have always booked and reserved online, each time we had problems with the online payment with our Mastercard. But it was never a problem, we called, reserved a pitch and paid on arrival. The always friendly staff saw no problem. This year, a security charge of €5.38 per day suddenly appeared on the Rg. All right, if that's how it should be (1000 seats x €5 = over €5,000 a day - a rogue who thinks bad things!) When paying, the same problem as always: it doesn't work. So I called and... I was told that it was my problem, that I should speak to my bank (by the way, online payment works everywhere with this bank...) and that they no longer accept reservations by phone. But no other payment method is offered either. No indication of other options - no way! And in a tone as if I had made an indecent proposal. No repetition or farewell greeting, just end the phone call... This is how customers are judged...
Unfortunately, but never again...
I was unable to book a stay because s. O.
However, as in previous years, I was not offered any kind of solution, let alone a search for one.
After years of staying here, I am now looking for another place. The beach is still great.

Weekend excursion
The campsite is nice so far. But unfortunately there is no peace at night! Only when I went to security at 2 a.m. did it slowly become quieter. But at 6.30 a.m. the peace was over again. Unfortunately we also had to experience 2 times that people let their dogs do their business on the pitch. Simply disgusting !😡 We will definitely not be back !

Romo island is great place. Lakolk beach and others are so big, it is unusual (for us). We were there with a motorhome and you can drive on the beach to the sea shore. So we were leaving the camping at the morning and going back after the sun set.

All facilities rather OK, maybe cleanlliness could be better but there were many people those days.

Terrible place with far too many people who have no consideration at all for Convid 19. People are too close, do not give way and this applies to CP, shops and the beach where thousands of cars, campers etc are staying. We should have been there o 5 days, but left after 1. Lost about 1200, - as CP does not give money back. ☹

The change of ownership has not done the site any good.
Expensive campsite and unfriendly staff
(Sat., 25.07.2020) We have been going back to Lakolk with our children, friends and their children for many years and have always felt very comfortable there. Our children now also come here again and again with their friends. Unfortunately, this year we had to realize that a lot has changed - and not... for the better: The staff are much less friendly than they used to be. Our children and their friends were treated with little courtesy and even very unfriendly treatment. Even when I complained after three days about the inadequately cleaned shower room (there had been razor blades and cuticles lying around for three days), the first comment instead of an apology was that this couldn't be. It was only when I described the defects in detail that they were prepared to believe me. In my opinion, this is absolutely outrageous, especially as the site states that particularly thorough cleaning takes place in times of Corona. In fact, we did not notice this.
All in all, it has to be said that we are more than disappointed with the service since the change of owner.
We have decided not to go to Lakolk again. One employee in particular (Ursula) was particularly unfriendly in her dealings with the young people.
We can no longer recommend the campsite.
(Addition Mo., 27.07.2020) In fact, on the same day the shower room was superficially cleaned in the place I criticized, the garbage was removed, but the flies and dust were not wiped away.
One more thing about the price of the pitch! Apart from the fact that the billing is strange, the costs have risen a lot since the new owner took over (too expensive in my opinion). I also wonder why I am paying a security fee, what has happened with the change of ownership that makes this necessary? It's a prankster who thinks this is another hidden price increase.
