This is not indicated! Full payment is demanded immediately before viewing the pitch. Sanitary facilities in unacceptable condition without regular cleaning.Disappointing stay despite beautiful locationThe campsite has the potential to be a truly idyllic place, but unfortunately this potential is severely dampened by serious shortcomings in the facilities and service.
We booked a comfort pitch with a view of the lake online, which was supposed to be equipped with fresh water, waste water and electricity... connections. On site, however, we discovered that pitch 13 had neither its own electricity connection nor a proper water or waste water connection. Instead, we were supposed to share the electricity with the neighboring pitch 12, which we were not informed of beforehand. Our request to provide a Gardena coupling was only met with a tired smile and a "not possible".
It was particularly annoying that the remaining payment was demanded in full before we had even viewed the pitch. A refund for early departure due to the defects was refused, which gives the impression that the operator has no interest in responding to customer requests or rectifying defects.
Another major annoyance was the condition of the sanitary facilities. The women's washroom was very moldy and was not cleaned daily despite its poor condition. The cleanliness of the newly designed men's area was also inadequate, and here too obvious dirt was not removed for several days.
To summarize, our stay was a disappointment across the board. The management seems to be more focused on profit than guest satisfaction. The site could be a real gem if it were in the hands of operators who cared about the needs and well-being of the campers. The campsite operators are very welcoming.
The campsite is not too big and therefore quiet, as there is little arrival and departure traffic. The site has mature trees and you feel surrounded by greenery.
The small bathing lake is right next to the campsite.
Ideal for cycling tours. Beautiful bathing lake on the site.Olumsuz yanlarıNone.Spacious, reasonably priced pitch with good sanitary facilitiesWe stopped at this campsite on our North Sea coastal cycle tour. The tent pitch is huge and is not, as is often the case, somewhere far out, but centrally located right next to the very good sanitary facilities. But don't worry, the tent meadow is so big that you can choose the distance to the sanitary... building exactly as you wish. There is also electricity.
And when it comes to electricity, the attitude of the very friendly site management is evident. On many pitches there is a flat rate, regardless of what you need the electricity for. Not here! We paid nothing to charge our cell phones. It was similar with our mini tents (2.2 x 0.7 x 0.6 m). We only paid for one tent. We had a completely different experience at other campsites.
In general, they don't try to score points here by charging quickly, but by offering good service and friendliness.
We arrived around 7 p.m. and were very thirsty. But the campsite restaurant was closed, so we would have had to drive out. The groundskeeper helped us out with a few bottles of beer, even though reception was already closed, so we didn't have any more stress.

P.S. Unfortunately, the renovation and conversion work in the sanitary building has still not been completed.... From a sanitary point of view, it was a disaster over the Whitsun holidays! Too few "ceramics" for too many guests! Although the friendly cleaning staff cleaned the sanitary facilities for what felt like 26 hours a day, the cleanliness (thanks to some guests!) left a lot to be desired!Otomatik olarak çevrildi.

That's why it's perfectly OK that there's no store or anything like that, the bread roll service works on advance order and everything else is available just around the corner.
Apparently the operator... changed in 2022 and the new one is still busy with the conversion or renovation. For example, one half of the wash house (there is only one, but due to the small size of the site it's perfectly OK) is closed off and male and female have to share the other half. This works better than it sounds, but - like so many things - it depends on how people behave. In general, however, there is still a lot to do. Maybe it was also because we were there in the low season, but it wasn't really cozy (yet). But nothing that really bothered us either, so everything was fine. According to the reviews, the restaurant should be really good (was still closed due to the low season) and once everything is ready, it will certainly be a great place all round.
In terms of friendliness, however, the place is already hard to beat. No matter who was sitting at reception or walking past on the pitch, there was always a friendly word and the team is simply lovely.
Even things like power supply, WLAN, chemical and waste disposal, ... everything was there and in order.

The young team is very hard-working and a lot is currently under construction: new, beautiful restaurant... with beach bar.

Arrival times on the internet do not match the actual timesGreat place with small weaknesses - nevertheless again and againFirst of all, we really liked the place. Great location in the countryside, right by the bathing lake if you wish, only around 30 minutes by car from the North Sea. In addition, Schortens and Jever are two towns in the immediate vicinity for sightseeing, restaurants and shopping. Not far from Wilhelmshaven... and the coastal towns (Horumersiel, Hooksiel etc.). The pitches are large and free. You can park your caravan/camper as you like. This is not common everywhere. Watch out! Not all pitches have fresh water and/or waste water connections. We overlooked this on the internet and therefore had to walk more than planned. It was also annoying that the Internet (terms and conditions and arrival information) states that arrivals after 8pm and before 7am only work by prior arrangement, but we found a locked pitch before 7pm anyway. The opening hours on site are 9.00 am to 6.00 pm. After a phone call and "begging" at the beer stand (where the "girl for everything" served us), we were admitted after all, albeit grumpily ("yes, you should have called beforehand..."??!!). Don't be put off. That's the Frisian way. Actually, everyone at the place is pretty nice and we were "best bodies" in the end ;-) Oh yes, and one more thing. The sanitary buildings are completely or partially closed or inaccessible exactly when you need them most!!! In the morning, between 8.00 am and 10.00 am, the men's and women's facilities are poorly or not usable for about 1.5 hours. If you do dare to enter, you will get grumbling or nasty looks from the cleaner. Who would think of such a thing, as there is no alternative? But again. The bottom line is that the place is unbeatable. We will definitely be back. Beautiful trees, direct access (included in the already low price) to the bathing lake, beautiful surroundings, proximity to Schortens (5-10 minutes by bike), to Jever (15 minutes by bike) and to the North Sea (see above) are simply beautiful and practical. In addition, there are often great live music events at the bathing lake and in Schortens at the weekend, which alone are worth the journey. In the end, we left with a heavy heart. The site operators are actually very good. You can only hear the main road in the background during the day. Absolute peace and quiet at night. The sanitary building is also nice and warm! Showers with shower tokens - free... in winter - access to the sanitary building with a key. Barrier can be opened with a chip at all times. No restaurant or other catering facilities.
