An annual pitch reserved mainly for permanent campers with catering and good home cooking.
Idyllically situated on the lake. Nudism is also possible. Ideal for finding peace and quiet, hiking or cycling.
A bus line stops in front of the site and there is a train station about 1 km away with hourly connections... to Berlin or the Spreewald and back again in the evening. There is also a shopping center with a pharmacy, gas station and much more.
The prices are reasonable and the sanitary facilities are well maintained. Toilet paper is not available, but this should not be a problem for campers. Electricity is charged according to consumption.
The site operator has his own sense of humor, which many people here before me have described as unfriendly, but on closer inspection he is very helpful and willing to provide information.
The highway is about 4 - 5 km away, so it is also suitable for a stopover.
This was our third time here and we would love to come back!

Strange "friendliness" of the groundsman. Coin-operated showers, toilets without soap and paper. Showers without doors or shower curtains! Restaurant!
An overnight stay at Camping Kiessee
As the weather was threatening to get worse on our vacation trip after Easter 2019, we wanted to spend the rainy weekend at Tropical Islands. To do this, we needed a stopover nearby. Despite its bad reviews, Camping Kiessee seemed to be the perfect location. A phone call the day before confirmed that... we were allowed to come, but we have experienced better friendliness on the phone. When we arrived shortly after 6 pm, the gate was locked. After ringing the bell at the gate, the groundsman opened it for us with a strange sense of humor. We had the feeling that we were intruding. In the end, however, he showed us the sanitary facilities and, as we didn't need electricity, gave us a beautiful pitch right by the lake. But when I parked up, I was given a hefty lecture: "Don't steer standing up! This is marshy ground! You'll get stuck in the sand! As a driver, you have to know that, man!" Good, now I know! The location of the campsite was the best thing on offer. The sanitary facilities were very clean, but there was no toilet paper or soap. According to the groundsman, the children were always messing around with it, so they would now do away with it. No problem in that respect. As real campers, we always have paper and soap with us. It became problematic or even embarrassing when you had to take the soap dispenser and the roll of toilet paper past the guests of the snack bar, who were already slightly drunk and sitting on beer tables, commenting loudly on the activities at the door of the toilet block. The showers were also very strange. It was a brand new coin-operated shower facility. I don't like coin-operated showers anyway, but there were no shower cubicles here, not even a shower curtain! The sense of community among the permanent campers must be huge there! Showering without privacy is impossible! As we only wanted to stay for one night, we thought it would be a good idea to have dinner in the snack bar on site. As all the regulars were sitting outside, we were all alone in the restaurant. Admittedly, everything was very clean there and the service was very friendly. All the dishes on the menu were very reasonably priced, but could generally only be ordered with fried potatoes. Unfortunately, the fried potatoes had run out that day and there was no alternative apart from toast. So I chose currywurst with toast. This currywurst was the worst I've ever had in my entire life! I would describe it purely visually as a mixture of sawdust and breadcrumbs. Probably also in terms of taste. Even the spicy curry sauce didn't help. Conclusion: the next morning we were glad to be able to leave again. The wonderful pitch right on the lake was fantastic. The rest of the campsite was no good for anything more than an overnight stay. We wouldn't want to spend a real vacation here.

very beautifully situated place
We ended up at the gravel lake because a nearby lake (name not mentioned) didn't want us, at least that's the impression it gave. We were welcome here, the reception was friendly and helpful (contrary to the previous reviewers here). Price simply TOP, sanitary facilities very clean, kiosk with great... prices and simple dishes the heart of the CP. There is also a nudist beach. Everything you need for shopping is available within cycling distance in Bestensee.

Area rich in forest and water
Sanitary facilities unfortunately without toilet paper, soap dispenser and paper towels or similar. Snack offer could be more extensive, but prices are moderate.

Unfriendly reception, prices too high
A very nice place with flaws
The place is beautiful, the snack bar is also ok but the reception... the reception is mega unfriendly, you have the feeling as a guest or short camper that you are not welcome here and the prices, people, the prices are completely exaggerated, pets are best left at home, they cost more than an adult.

Very nicely located place
Beautifully situated site on two lakes. However, if you are registering here for the first time, you should be warned: the actual owner's manner makes you feel that you are not really welcome. But come on... "Dogs that bark rarely bite!" because "Det is noch een Alter mit Berlina Schnauze!" In connection... with an often coarse, but hearty humor, this expression, which had also spread in the surrounding area, is often misunderstood... Otherwise, the staff was/is friendly and helpful. The price(s) are okay, the sanitary facilities very clean, but there is no soap, no hand dryer and certainly no toilet paper. So take appropriate utensils with you beforehand. Otherwise, everything you need for shopping is available within cycling distance (Bestensee). The snack bar with great prices and simple dishes is the heart of the campsite. There is also a nudist beach.

Nice starting point to visit Berlin, Potsdam, the Spreewald
Very nice location on the lake, ideal to start sightseeing from here and then enjoy nature. The pitch itself is mostly occupied by fixed camper vans, many people seem to live there permanently. Unfortunately, the site is poorly lit and there is an increased risk of tripping in the evening without a flashlight.... The sanitary facilities were clean, but there was no soap, towel dispenser or toilet paper. Showers were good and warm, with a powerful jet of water, coin-operated (2.5 min = €0.50).

Beautifully situated campsite. The staff are very friendly. The site is very quiet now in the fall. The toilets and sanitary facilities are very clean. The CP restaurant, which was open until 22.00, caters for your physical well-being. We will definitely be back.

we were looking for a campsite on our way through and found what we were looking for here, absolutely nice people, very clean sanitary facilities, good location as the highway entrance and exit are nearby, shopping facilities close to the bike, what more could you want ?

Our pitch was beautifully situated by the lake. The sanitary facilities on offer were very reminiscent of highway toilets from the 1970s. To dispose of waste or use the permanent campers' sanitary facilities, you had to walk around the lake. An adventure, especially in the dark. We left after one night :(

Pure permanent campsite,entrance blocked by a huge iron gate.the place looks gloomy and untidy,the tourist places(100?) look like freshly flown forest floor.we traveled on after intensive inspection....
