Paved pitches (honeycomb stones and terrace slabs). Some with waste water disposal, electricity and parking space at the caravan. Not too expensive. Glückstadt is 13 minutes away by car and Hamburg 50 minutes. Nice cafés in the harbor of Kollmar.НегативиRest periods were not observed. The operator didn't seem to care. Mr. von Drahten has lost his temper. He is distant and spreads a bad mood (his wife is ok). Emptying the chemical toilet is not possible with blue or green chemicals (we were recommended denture cleaners!). The washing-up areas are covered with cardboard to catch swallow droppings. Very basic sanitary facilities. Not every pitch has its own water tap (for city water connection).Beautiful place with potential for improvementThe campsite is kept simple. But that didn't bother us. Of course, you can hear the ship's diesel engines at night. The quiet times were not respected by the guests passing through. There was a big festival and the music was played until 1:30 am.
Mr. v. D. is not very friendly and sometimes very derogatory... in his manner. He also seems quickly overwhelmed. That was really annoying. As there aren't many campsites nearby, people come anyway. The reception was rather brusque and I was asked three times if I really wanted to stay for a week. I was told to move the tent after half the time so that the grass underneath would get light and not turn yellow. I did so, left for a short time... and someone with a bigger car and a large awning was standing very close to my tent. All evening, door open, door closed, light on, light off, conversations until well after midnight right next to the head of my tent. A clarifying conversation didn't get off to a good start, everyone blamed the other. It was also Matjeswoche in Glückstadt, so we had to move closer together. I broke off my stay in a huff. But everything you need is there. The sanitary building is simple but clean. The sheep are right next door on the dyke. Relaxing and long walks and bike rides are possible. You can easily get to Hamburg from Elmshorn by... public transport. You can order bread rolls the day before. Unfortunately, the site and the town have no other shopping facilities. You have to go to the nearest surroundings. The electricity meter is located in the connection box and can be checked by the guest at any time Power connection with blue plug (CEE16). Very important! Please note that the C-pitch is not connected to the municipal sewage system and has its own disposal pit. It is therefore very important not to use any toilet chemicals so as not to destroy the bacterial culture. The owner points this out on his homepage. The northern part of the Elbe cycle path between Brunsbüttel and Hamburg runs right past the site. Very nice hosts! The sanitary facilities are in reasonable condition and the use of... the showers is included in the overnight price. However, the number of showers and washing facilities is too small in relation to the number of guests. Washing machines and dryers are available and can be used for a small fee. Cold drinks and snacks are available at reception, otherwise there is no catering. On weekends, bridges and public holidays you can buy bread rolls etc. in the morning. On normal weekdays it is necessary to order in advance. A small children's playground is available. However, anyone expecting other entertainment, a pool, culture etc. will be disappointed. You can stay here well and safely, no more, but also no less. Although there are also recognizable permanent campers, I would generally recommend the site to tourists for one or two nights. Bikepackers and other bike travelers really get their money's worth. Elbdeich-Camping is definitely a top recommendation! There is a sheep dyke where people and dogs are allowed - great! Then to look briefly over the dyke, see the Queen Mary II sailing past in the direction of the North Sea and be pleased that you decided to go camping and not on a cruise! Apart from our caravan, there were maybe 3-4 other guest caravans there, all the other caravans were permanent campers. The site is not particularly large, but well maintained. The wash house... is certainly well designed for the site, everything was clean apart from a few insects on the walls. I would also appreciate it if the washrooms and showers were physically separated from the toilets and not just by the usual cubicle walls. The location is both an advantage and a disadvantage. The site is directly behind the dyke, so it is largely quiet and sheltered from the wind. However, there are also sheep on the dyke, so you sometimes have to reckon with bleating sheep at night and there is always a slight smell of sheep dung in the air. However, you soon get used to this. The village of Kollmar is quite small, so you can't do any shopping there. You also have to drive to one of the nearest villages for bread rolls in the morning. On Saturdays and Sundays there is supposed to be a bread roll sale on site. During the day, there's not much to do apart from walking on the dyke (littered with sheep dung). There is a small café/bistro on the dyke at the "harbor" with a beautiful view of the Elbe. Otherwise the place is totally sleepy. However, it is well connected by car for trips to Glückstadt or Elmshorn or even further to Hamburg.Автоматично преведено.
