"Nice, quiet place directly on the river - a beautiful quiet place directly on the river in the middle of extinct volcanoes, in a region where the villages were founded in the 11th-13th centuries

"Generously laid out - Stay: 7 days in early August with a tent. On a large flat plain there are pitches with and without shade, by the river or completely secluded. Quiet and plenty of choice. The town center is close to the campsite and there are 2 supermarkets 1-2 km away. The staff are English-speaking and helped us with telephone calls in French. When we were there, a classic meal menu with music was offered weekly, 14 euros per adult, 7 per child. The sanitary facilities (sitting toilets) are clean (cleaned daily) but very outdated, e.g. water spurting out of the water pipe, no toilet paper, no soap and no toilet seat. There was a new sanitary building: toilets on one side, showers on the other and washbasins for dishes in the middle:)! There is no toilet paper, no soap and no toilet seat. There is free WiFi in the TV room, but only one socket. There is an outdoor pool. There is a small bathing area by the river. Price per night in August, 2 adults, 2 children under 13, tent, car: approx. 25 euros.

"Feel good by the river - Recommended campsite in scenic surroundings. Extensive meadow area in a beautiful location by the river. Walking distance to the town center with good infrastructure.

Welcome to the Campsite of the Gorges de l’Allier, at Langeac (Haute-Loire), the country where nature begins. The campsite is situated at the entrance of The Gorges de l’Allier, only 5 minutes on foot to the center of Langeac, a …small lively and colourful town at the south of the Auvergne. It is a large wooded park of 14 hectares beside the river where we will be happy to welcome you with your family and friends in a relaxed atmosphere and equipped with comfortable facilities. Children and adults will find themselves with delight around the swimming pool and at the riverside of the Allier river. During your stay you will discover the beauty of the green volcanic region, with its hilltop villages, the small country inns, the goat paths and the lively river rippling natural beaches in the sunny valleys.
