The pitch was above the village of Bad Kohlgrub. The site is quiet and suitable for a maximum of 16 vehicles. There was a hotel right next to the campsite where you can check in and out. I spent 6 weeks at the campsite and I would love to come back. It was fantastic.

That the electricity can only be topped up with coins and that it was therefore always necessary to change them.

Quiet, relaxed, in the middle of the mountains
We were there with the caravan, two adults and two children, 11 and 13 years old. The place and sanitary facilities are very clean, staff very nice and helpful. In the middle of the hiking area. Everything you need available. Electricity at the machine as required.

Quiet, hard-working owner. Water, waste water and electricity connections at every pitch. Quick responses to inquiries.

Overall, the hotel is getting on in years and "worn out". Some of the facilities seem very cobbled together. More for motorhomes.
Standard pitch in need of renovation
The site is off the beaten track and a little tricky to find. The ground is fine gravel as listed in the description. Apparently mainly day guests passing through and cyclists on tour visit the site. Showers and washing facilities in the basement clean but in need of renovation and cramped. When flushing... the urinals, for example, the waste water comes back out of the floor drain. Toilet doors do not close properly. I don't really know how to rate the place. It's ok, but by no means 5 stars for the sanitary facilities. Where they come from is a mystery to me. A cheap and quiet place where you have to drive to all activities. I wouldn't want to stay there for any length of time. All in all: ok but basic standard with an urgent need for renovation.

Wellness/relaxation in absolute tranquillity
Functionally equipped camping oasis in a quiet location on the edge of the forest next to the spa and wellness hotel. The ideal place to relax, starting point for hikes and excursions. Everything is very clean, the wellness oasis and treatments can be booked at the hotel, bread roll service, breakfast and dinner can be ordered in good quality. A suitable place for a relaxing break.

Very nice and above all quiet campsite in the middle of the mountains. The food at the nearby Hotel waldruh was very good and the breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious! Great starting point for hikes and bike tours

we were on a bike tour and spent one night at the campsite
we felt very comfortable on this beautiful and quiet campsite. the friendly reception and the nice hospitality at the evening meal deserve special mention. a delicious homemade meal in a nice atmosphere. the breakfast buffet the next morning was rich and delicious. in short, we felt really comfortable and say thank you for the nice time...... uli and lothar, 2 cyclists on a bike tour from oberstdorf to königsee

Hotel campsite with beautiful wellness area
Despite the bad weather, we decided to spend two nights at the campsite in Bad Kohlgrub. The camping oasis is more of a pitch next to the spa hotel. There are about 20 gravelled pitches with electricity and water. The location is wonderful, at the foot of a former ski slope - the ski operation was discontinued... this year. The sanitary facilities are older, but clean and well heated. The wellness area in the hotel is really nice. It includes several saunas, a steam bath, relaxation area etc. and can be used for €5/person. You can also get bread rolls at the hotel and you can also have dinner there. Overall, the staff are very friendly. There are also cultural activities nearby (Franz Marc Museum, Murnau Castle Museum). As the pitches are large and easily accessible, excursions are also possible with a camper van.
