Beautiful campsite at the marina
The CP is located directly at the small marina of a recreational area on the outskirts of Leiden. It is situated on the freshwater lake "Vlietland" (1,500 x 500m). In the immediate vicinity there is a lido (with sandy beach), a good restaurant in a top location directly on the water and a kayak rental.... The area is very busy at weekends, but you won't notice much of this on the campsite itself. The pitches of the very small campsite (approx. 60 pitches) are partly directly on the water (parceled out), partly (rather unparceled) on meadows. There are also 2 "trekker huts" as rental accommodation. The ground on the site is grass. The campsite makes a well-kept impression. The very young operator couple is very friendly and helpful. The sanitary building is good average, very clean, but with e.g. 2 toilets for men in the high season probably a little undersized. During our stay in June, the campsite was about 273 full and we had no disadvantage; showers and toilets were always free. The nearest supermarket is in Voorschoten (10 minutes by bike); the campsite itself does not offer a store or bread service. In Voorschoten there are also some beautifully situated restaurants (Voorstaraat). Excursions into the beautiful surroundings are ideal from the campsite by bike. It's just 15 minutes by bike to beautiful Leiden. We really enjoyed our stay :)

Thank you for your lovely review! Great to read that you had a wonderful time :-) Since this season (2022) we also have a breakfast service (on saturday's and sunday's and daily in summertime) with the tastiest bread and croissants. But also, for example, a hard-boiled egg or a fresh orange juice. And a chocolate muffin for dessert ;-) Hopefully see you back one day!
