" - The course is beautifully situated directly on an arm of the sea (Loch Linnhe) near Fort William. Most of the pitches have a direct view of Loch Linnhe, as the rear pitches are slightly elevated and the middle of the pitch has been left free for a large meadow. The pitches are gravelled and separated by a strip of grass. The 1st row (no extra charge) is separated from the shore by a lawn of varying widths. Paths and green areas are very well maintained. Great care is taken not to drive over the green areas. Although located in the open, the stations for fresh and waste water, toilets and waste disposal are among the cleanest I have ever seen. A significant detail in passing: every morning between 10:30 and 11:00, the assistant groundskeeper checks the lifebuoy on the shore with a flick of the wrist. The washrooms are very clean. The shower curtains in the shower were a small drawback, which I personally don't like. Tents are not permitted on the site, no tent caravans are allowed in the 1st row and no awnings may be erected. The camping store only has a very rudimentary range of food. The nearest shops are in Ballachulish and Fort William. Few leisure facilities in the immediate vicinity of the site, only a few footpaths in the adjacent forest. However, very interesting surroundings with Glencoe, Fort William, Ben Nevis etc. Non-members of the Caravan Club pay 8 pounds more than club members. Club membership may be worthwhile for longer stays. W-Lan costs 5 pounds / 5 hours and is valid on all Caravan Club sites.
