"Small campsite in the upper Aosta Valley in the high Alps. - Camping Arc En Ciel - Morgex Feysoulles Street 20, campsite, 11017 Morgex/Aosta Valley/Italy http://www.campingarcenciel.it/ChiSiamo.asp This relatively small campsite is in a very quiet location directly on a narrow side road that runs parallel to the N26 from the western edge of the village to Courmayeur. At the traffic circle, take the exit towards Dailley and then continue straight on for about 2 to 3 km under the highway. The location of the site is fantastic with a direct view of the white mountain or Mont Blanc or Monte Bianco. The pitches are laid out in long terraces but are large enough for cars and caravans. The first upper terrace is easy to drive onto. The lower terraces can cause problems for vehicles with front-wheel drive when driving down again. The sanitary facilities are located directly at the reception, are well maintained and very clean. The host family is very friendly and helpful. The small restaurant is not always open. The prices are very moderate by Italian standards (see price list on the website). http://www.campingarcenciel.it/Prezzi.asp Satellite TV reception is available. From here you can quickly reach Switzerland - Martigny - via the large St. Bernhardt (pass or tunnel), France - Chamonix - through the Mont Blanc tunnel via Courmayeur External image or Bourg St. Maurice via the small St. Bernhardt (2188 m above sea level). The passes are also easy to drive through with a trailer. Unfortunately, we had the misfortune that the little St. Bernhardt was undergoing roadworks on the Italian side. In some places, the concrete mixers on the side of the road made it very narrow. However, if you enjoy the scenery, you should not take the tunnels but the passes for the respective mountain crossings, it is worth it; the views on offer are always breathtakingly beautiful. In addition, there are always opportunities to take a break and go on short or longer hikes. The small town of Morgex is also well worth a visit and offers a few small bistros with reasonable prices. In my opinion, the site is better than those further down in the Aosta Valley.

Description

Profile

The campsite was opened back in 1974 and is run with care and dedication directly by the owners, the Marazzato family. Situated at 1,020 m. above sea level, in an enchanting position between the greenery of the Valdigne and the …eternal snow of Mont Blanc, it is the right place to spend a relaxing and enjoyable holiday in direct contact with nature. The well-kept green oasis that surrounds us is actually our strong point. The large terraces that house the pitches are shaded by magnificent weeping willows, birches, pines and firs. You will enjoy a breathtaking panorama, cantilevered on the Dora, and you will touch Mont Blanc with one finger. Pizzeria - Restaurant - Bar Inside the campsite you will find a restaurant with a menu full of typical dishes of Valle d'Aosta cuisine. If you have a different taste, you can enjoy a rich choice of pizzas, tasty and well filled. Moreover, at the bar you can taste the typical drink of Valle d'Aosta, the cup of friendship, better known as Grolla. Playground In summer, there is a sheltered area for children to play and pass the time. In addition, indoors, a recreation room with various board games and a table tennis table is at your disposal at any time of the year. Toilet The toilets are grouped in a single block, well maintained and equipped with a hot water shower and a washroom.
