"Never again Camping am See - I'll start with the positives-beautifully located campsite, nice romantic setting, possibility of swimming in the lake, plenty of shade. But!....thanks to the fact that the owner is an old, grumpy old man, everything else is wrong - starting with the reception where there is no price list, checking in takes an awful lot of time, you have to put your tent/caravan in the place exactly designated by him, you can't have your car/motorbike by the tent - you have to park by the gate. We were moved 3 times during our stay with the customer who had our spot-where he had placed us-reserved. He even moved my son's tent once by himself without us being present. The gate of the camp is closed from 21:00 to 09:00 i.e. if you want to leave the camp earlier in the morning for a hike, cable car, ferraty -you are out of luck-grandfather will not open the gate earlier even after a request the day before-with the fact that he eats breakfast until 9 in the morning, again no sign that it is so. It used to be that cars were parked outside the gate from 7 ! Otherwise for the whole campsite 4 men's toilets- 1 of them closed, no urinal, 4 showers per token for 2E, totally inadequate if the campsite is already partially full. A bonus to finish - the campsite is 100% more expensive than usual in Austria. It's a shame that a campsite in such a beautiful setting, ideally located, is being degraded by a senile owner, hopefully when his children take over it will be better, we will definitely not be going back sooner!

"7632 Pécs Fazekas Mihály utca 26 - They replied to our first email in English, and then to our second email in English, in German, even though they are supposed to speak 5 languages, so one of our German-speaking friends called them and arranged everything. Our requests (most important: a camper with a tent on the lake), which we had asked for and paid for in advance, were not met. The showers are token based, even the cold water (one person per day can only buy one token) impossible time limit rules (e.g. the campsite closes at 9pm and no one is allowed in or out until the morning) etc. The Receptionist is the owner of the campsite and she needed as much kindness as a rag rug. On arrival she told us to go to reception. By the time we parked the bus he had disappeared and we had great difficulty finding him. At the reception, we were about to feel that we should be happy that he was dealing with us, and he explained his prison-like rules which he followed to the letter. Finally, he took us into the "swamp", where we wanted to put a sheet of mud in front of the bus so that we wouldn't be covered in mud, and then he started shouting at us. As we found the above unacceptable, we finally decided not to stay at the campsite. Despite the fact that they had not fulfilled the agreed conditions, they refused to refund our money and we did not even receive an invoice. In short, a rip-off specialising in ripping off tourists, with an unacceptable attitude and rules. Everyone should stay far away!

"Never again! - Worst camping experience of our lives! We came from far away with small children, they knew we were coming, we paid a deposit. Unfortunately, we didn't know that after 9pm you can't drive in or out of the campsite. We parked in front of the gate, packed up the important things in the blind darkness, set up the tent somewhere, carried the sleeping children in and went to bed. We had a trip planned for the next day, so we left early in the morning, figuring we'd report back in the afternoon. When we got back, the pegs of our tent were sticking out of the ground, so it was lucky it hadn't collapsed... It turned out that we couldn't put it there (how could we have known in the dark?) They wanted to make us pay extra money, because the tent was supposed to be in a VIP area... We didn't let them, but we moved to the right place. After that I don't remember how we got to the point where we said we'd had enough, we weren't staying. They were yelling and screaming at us about everything. Our tent is too big, it sticks out a few inches more behind the hedge, we put the rubbish in the wrong place, the car is in the wrong place, the kids are too loud etc etc. We paid for 3 nights but only stayed for 2. They wouldn't give us our money back, we finally got that one out, but they called the police to make sure we paid that one too!!! Crazy!!!! They don't treat their guests like human beings! Everything is over regulated so you can't relax here! They keep watching to see if you follow their stupid rules! And it's expensive!

Description

Profile

Mediterranean atmosphere amid alpine scenery! Camping - in a different way - in a stylish, large park, at the foot of the mountain "Dachstein", along the lake with our own beach and a wonderful view of the historical town Hallstatt …(it is listed as a historical monument). The stock of trees, the reed-biotope and natural beach (legally protected) are an ideal starting point for hikers, mountaineers, climbers as well as canoeists, rafters, anglers, divers or paragliders! The whole campsite is legally protected. The station at the bottom of the "Dachstein-cable railway" to the "Eisriesenhöhle" (a cave with gigantic stacks of ice) is nearby.
