"Lots of Abus - Strictly managed site. Only a few pitches for tourist campers without parcelling near the lake. Very narrow and steep access to the pitches. Lots of padlocks, even the toilet paper is locked in a self-made steel frame with a padlock. Garbage should preferably be taken home again. Short stay ok, long stay not recommended. You don't really know when the owner's friendliness turns into a control mania.

"Quiet, clean campsite - The place is super clean and designed with a lot of love. The operators are totally accommodating and you get the feeling that there is a solution for everything. The campsite is right on the lake. The paths to the toilets are well lit and the stairs in between are illuminated all night by a motion detector. The site is inexpensive and offers everything you need, a playground, a pizzeria, bread delivery service, etc. We were really impressed and would come again

"Nice cozy CP on the lake - Nice quiet cozy CP, characterized by permanent campers Sanitary clean. Operator friendly and helpful. Nice contact with permanent campers. Not far to the lake. Restaurant food very tasty (Italian). Ideal for bike tours and day trips. In the middle of the countryside, far away from the big cities, you can really relax. We would love to come back.

"Manageable space in a beautiful sunny location by the lake - We stayed here for an overnight stay. Great place, great facilities, very friendly operator. The Italian restaurant on site deserves a special mention: an Italian couple conjure up the most delicious pizza or pasta in a small kitchen. And at very moderate prices. Part of the very relaxing overall experience is that the fresh preparation takes time, which you should allow for. But it's worth the wait for these delicacies, which also contributes to the vacation feeling in a very relaxing way ;-)

"Camping site to relax - Small, well-kept campsite with an original character. Central water taps and waste water disposal in a separate room from the shower house. Older and new, modern sanitary facilities; located next to each other and clean. Nice, friendly and helpful host couple. Bread roll service on advance order, good baked goods. Italian on-site restaurant with delicious pizza and dishes at moderate prices. Although the site is dominated by permanent campers, it has a nice pitch area for tourists.

"Everything you need - (Stay 07/2016, edited 08/2017) The campsite "Am Sonnenbach" is located on the waters of the same name near Ellwangen and close to the A7. On arrival it is the first of two pitches. Mainly permanent campers, therefore quiet. There are several meadow areas on the site and a separate tent meadow (youth site) for visitors passing through. The sanitary facilities on the north side of the wash house are new and modern, also for children and families at no extra charge. There is no camper store, but there is a bread roll service and a pizzeria that is well worth a visit! There is a large playground and football pitch for children, as well as a swimming area directly on the pitch (unguarded). Free WLAN and shopping facilities are available in Ellwangen town center, a short distance away. - We had a quiet and pleasant time. Addendum: The operator now also offers free WiFi access in the reception area during the day.

Profile

Der Campingplatz "Am Sonnenbach" erstreckt sich terrassenförmig über einen Südhang oberhalb des Sonnenbachsees. Dabei verfügt die zur Gemeinde Ellwangen gehörige, 34.000 qm große Anlage über 150 Stellplätze, deren Größe zwischen 80 und 100 qm beträgt und welche alle mit einem …eigenen Stromanschluss ausgestattet sind. Am Rande des Campingplatzes befindet sich zudem ein Jugendzeltplatz, welcher ebenso Wasser- und Stromanschlüsse besitzt. Neben modernen und barrierefreien Sanitäranlagen sind auch eine Waschmaschine sowie ein Trockner vorhanden. Darüber hinaus nennt der Platz einen Kiosk und eine Gaststätte sein Eigen und erfreut seine Gäste während der Hauptsaison mit einem Brötchenservice. Während sich die Jüngsten gerne auf dem Spielplatz vergnügen, zieht es Fußballbegeisterte eher zum Bolzplatz. Außerdem stehen für die weitere Freizeitgestaltung mehrere Rad- und Wanderwege rund um den 800 m langen See zur Auswahl, der nicht zuletzt auch zum Baden, Surfen und Bootfahren einlädt. In einem Umkreis von 5 km befinden sich zudem eine Minigolfbahn, eine Reitmöglichkeit sowie Tennisplätze.
