"Never, never again!!!! - I have deliberately allowed some time to pass before writing this review - I didn't want to focus on pent-up anger or disappointment in order to remain as objective as possible in retrospect. Let's start at the very beginning, at the CMT in Stuttgart, January 2016. We ( 2 adults, 3 children aged 12, 5 and 2 at the time) are looking for our summer vacation. Three things are particularly important to us: sea, sun and cleanliness! We were approached at a stand by a very friendly German man who recommended this campsite to us. He had emigrated to France years ago and was working at reception there. The description and photos were great and we had never been to France before - the decision was quickly made. We booked a pitch right by the sea and the anticipation was huge. So off we went in mid-August, from the south of Germany to the south of France with 3 children and a caravan - not exactly the closest route. After a total of 18 hours of driving, we arrived exhausted. Funnily enough, the gentleman from CMT was even standing at reception and we were shown our pitch. It was all gravel and grit, which we hadn't expected. But it didn't matter, we were actually right by the sea, the view, the air, the atmosphere was truly breathtaking!!! That was my first impression. A little irritated, I noticed a rather run-down building to our right called the Beach Bar. And it was in this building that the sanitary facilities were located. To be honest, I still don't know how to describe it: The first toilet was a standing toilet into which everyone emptied their chemical toilet. The stench was indescribable. The rest consisted of toilets without glasses and showers, everything was ancient, completely run-down and filthy. The water in the shower was either freezing cold or boiling hot in places. There was also no toilet paper, soap or towels to dry your hands. I would like to add here that we have been to a campsite with very old sanitary facilities before - but these were clean and very well maintained, so I had no problem with them. This facility exceeded my worst expectations. Luckily I had plenty of disinfectant spray with me - of course we could also walk halfway across the campsite to the newer sanitary facilities - but with 2 small children this was not always feasible. That's why we made sure we got a pitch close to the toilets. To stay on the subject of toilets: twice a week there was a music show in the beach bar in the evening (I'll save myself the review, but would like to add briefly that the evenings went on at disco volume until one in the morning) The guests, most of whom were heavily intoxicated at an early hour, also used these toilets. That's why you couldn't use the facilities on these evenings as they were completely full of shit (and I mean that exactly) and partly contaminated with bleeding tampons. The cleaning ladies came twice a day and went into the facility without cleaning agents, equipped only with a water hose, and sprayed it out completely. The water then ran down the stairs and in our direction. Especially delicious when you're sitting down to eat! I could think of a hundred more things to say about this topic, but since that wasn't the top hit, I'd like to move on to the next topic, namely dogs. I have nothing against dogs or dog owners, quite the opposite. But I do have something against dogs that poop in front of my caravan and I have something against the owners who not only tolerate this but also ignore it! I'm not exaggerating when I say I've never been confronted with so much shit in my entire life (remember, I have 3 children and am an educator by profession!) The dog owners saw the front row as a dog toilet (despite the designated dog beach) and simply led their animals to the front to do their business. If you pointed this out to them, they either ignored you or became aggressive, the whole area around our caravan smelled of urine. I emptied vinegar water all around every other day. The high point was that a dog pooped right in front of our table while we were eating. The owner completely ignored us despite calling and eventually shouting. We complained several times at reception to the nice German man who had recommended the vacation to us. Between 9am and 6pm, a security guard was then assigned, but he was also responsible for all other activities. At least things got better during the day. But the dog owners still came in the evening after 6pm. I thought several times about whether I should tell the couples in love who were sitting on the rocks by the sea in the evening to enjoy the view that a dog had just pissed on them 5 minutes earlier. Despite several complaints, we didn't get a discount or any compensation. At least the German gentleman (I have to emphasize again and again that he recommended the vacation to us) had the decency to apologize to us personally, but of course that didn't save the vacation either. So all in all, I wouldn't advise anyone to go to this campsite, regardless of age or constellation. Unless you like the smell of urine and like dirt. Nevertheless, I would like to add something positive at the very end: The sea and the area were amazing and we met some great people! That at least made up for all the chaos!
