"Beautiful facility for a short vacation - The site is located in an area of small bodies of water, just east of Leeuwarden. To get to the touring pitches you also have to cross a small bridge, so it's probably a peninsula :-). Everything is nicely designed, there are several small beaches and playgrounds, the pitches are large enough and, thanks to a clever arrangement, almost every pitch is somehow on the water or at least in the second row. The site has a small store and a restaurant / snack bar, but unfortunately these are only open at weekends in the low season. However, bread rolls could still be ordered directly at reception, and it's only 6 km to Leeuwarden, where you can find everything you need. In my opinion, only the wash houses are a bit carelessly designed. Everything is rather functional, functional and clean, but nothing that can be positively emphasized. On the contrary, some areas have separate entrances and are completely unheated - not really nice.

"Everything was fine we were very satisfied - We My wife, I and our 8-year-old son were there in July 2017. We liked it very much. We had a pitch with our camper van on an island right on the water. We went cycling, but also to Amsterdam or the Icelmeer. We were able to take the dinghy around the whole island and also make detours, which was great. The kiosk is ok, but we weren't there in high season so we only had bread rolls to order in advance with a pick-up time. Shopping centers are not very far away, you can get everything you want there. Bakeries are also nearby, but then you have to drive to get bread rolls.

"We will be repeat offenders - De kleine Wielen was just a stopover for us on our return journey home from Amsterdam. The site is beautifully situated on a lake and we were able to choose our pitch. There is a large playground for children and a swimming area with shallow water. During our visit, some of the wash houses were locked. Showers work on the site with a chip, the showers are clean and the water temperature can be easily adjusted. Electricity is paid for at a flat rate and that was our good fortune, as we were able to choose the socket ourselves: three out of four did not work. We didn't try the restaurant on site, preferring to eat in Leuwarden. A beautiful town with canals and lots of sights. We will certainly come back again and stay a few nights longer.

Een leuke familie-camping in het hart van Friesland. Midden in het natuurgebied "De Groene Ster". Een ideale locatie om Friesland te ontdekken. Leeuwarden zelf ligt ca.5 kilometer van de camping. Goed bereikbaar per bus. Op de camping zelf is ook …van alles te doen. Zo is er zomers een uitgebreid recreatie-programma. Een hapje en een drankje is uiteraard te verkrijgen in ons gezellige paviljoen.
