"Well - I can't understand why the groundsman put me on this narrow strip of grass when there would have been enough space on the larger meadow in front. Not far from the constantly running Stromagregat. 3.50 euros for a garbage bag, which is compulsory to purchase? Cheeky! What difference does that make to waste disposal? The shore could also be maintained. So much garbage washes up here. And last but not least...to all those who want to come here...bring enough food or a car so that you can go shopping. Breakfast rolls are only available on Saturdays!

"Not recommended - The campsite host is very unfriendly and snippy. The electricity was simply switched off at night without informing us. And at different times, just as the campsite landlord felt like it. Once even as early as 22:08. According to permanent campers, this has been going on for 2 years. We had to pay for the pitch on arrival. Drinking water was only available at the sanitary building. Showers with coin machine 1,00 €. We were not informed about this either. The showers still have shower curtains and no anteroom to change. The CP can only be reached via a narrow single-lane road with no alternative routes. This is regulated by traffic lights, which are switched off from 20:00. The waste disposal is regulated by a garbage bag, which you get on arrival for 3,...€ from the host. Without any waste separation (whether bottles, paper etc.). That something like this is still possible in Germany!

"Canoe tour with friends - We came again and were again very well received. Our camp with 19 historical tents, 17 canoes and 35 participants was another successful camp. We are a group with historical representation from the 18th century from the "New World". There is nothing we could complain about or worth mentioning, for us an unforgettable time. We would like to thank the groundskeeper and his team and say thank you again and stay healthy and see you again soon. LG Iroquois Group

"Fantastic location with restrictions - Caution! Normally not usual, but the fee for the total time is due immediately and in cash when you register. We had already booked in February, but were seated in the back row next to a large family with millimeter precision. I ask about the 300 m free meadow for alternative pitches, the groundsman's answer: "The grass is just as nice and green here!" At least we still have a clear view of the water, but we can hear every conversation from the neighboring table. One day later: New guests have arrived, 2 campers, another large family, they are placed directly in front of us and the shore, the view of the lake is now completely obstructed, the meadow to the left of us is still free for 200m. So: don't pay before you know the pitch! We stayed the 4 nights anyway, the neighbors were very friendly. The Droschkau campsite is certainly one of the most beautiful on the Hohenwarte reservoir, but why do you have to put up with so much unfriendliness and arbitrariness from one person?

"Peace and pure nature - Nothing for active kids, more for nature lovers looking for peace and quiet. We were there for fishing with our camper van. Our pitch was right on the shore of the reservoir with covered seating, also practical for people with tents. Simple, functional sanitary facilities should not be a problem. The groundsman is always available and very helpful. The permanent campers were also very interested and friendly. We had a good rest and would love to come back.
