"Relaxed camping on the Saône, Bourgogne - We stayed at the campsite for 2 nights on our way to Provence and went here deliberately to visit the beautiful old town of Chalon s.S., where the basilica in the town center is worth a visit and is easily accessible from the campsite by bike or on foot. The site is located directly on the river, with a very narrow access road. An adjacent country road is very busy in the morning and early evening. The cycle path along the Saône runs between the site and the river. A large shopping center is only 3 km away, on the same side of the river. The site management is friendly and multilingual. There is a bistro with baguette service on reservation. The pitches are mainly on level grass, some under tall trees, with free choice of pitches at the rear. There are plenty of power points (CE coupling), but unfortunately there are only a few fresh water points. There are two sanitary blocks, while the rear one is very simply equipped. Soap and paper are available. The sanitary facilities are in good working order and cleanliness is at least what you would expect. For campers there is a covered pavilion with benches and tables at the back of the site. Sometimes you have to walk long distances to empty the cassette (only at the front wash house) and to dispose of garbage. During the season, the campsite can get crowded in the evening due to many transit guests. Early arrivals do not always position their caravan in the best possible way, so that late arrivals have difficulty finding a suitable space. The camping meadow is difficult to drive on when it rains and the ground is soggy. However, all paths are asphalted. We stayed at Pont du Bourgogne to explore Chalon s.S. by bike. We can recommend the campsite for a short stay.

However, the children have not been forgotten. There is a play area for the little ones near the main sanitary building. There is also a table tennis table for playing. At the edge of the campsite, children will find large lawns where they can play freely. If you wish to take your children to the swimming pool, the municipal swimming pool of Chalon-sur-Saône is less than 5 minutes from the campsite, on the other side of the Saône.
